Welcome to April Flourishes Beautiful World Tour!
If you do a little globetrotting with us and stamp our passports (leave us a comment), you could WIN A FREE FLOURISHES STAMP SET!! The catch is, you don’t know which country is going to be this month’s vacation spot (chosen blog) so leave a comment on each one by April 30th for your chance to win.
If you’ve jetted in from Meredith’s blog then you have arrived at the right destination. If you haven’t, perhaps you’d like to start your journey back in Florida at the Flourishes Blog so you don’t miss any of the inspiration along the way!
This month our hostess is Anne-Elise and he challenges us to a childhood theme! This includes anything that reminds us of our childhood or something we did as a child. I knew exactly what I’m going to choose, right from the start…
Christmastime is one of my most cherished memories from when I was a kiddo. OK, let’s admit it – presents, above all. HA! 🙂 Although the Christmas ones, they were sweeter than ever. Firstly, I had to wait until after we finished supper. Then, we were waiting for the first star to appear in the sky (or whichever came second), only then I was allowed to claw at the packaging that I’ve been eyeing since the very morning… talk about early lessons in patience!
And then there was the whole magic of the Holidays that you surely all know everything about! Including Santa, this brilliant man that means so much to you when you’re little and don’t know any better. Sometimes it’s so good to stay blissfully unaware – I often wish Santa was real indeed, ticking off positions from my list of presents in the course of one night! lol
I used the unbelievably gorgeous stamp set called Santa I Believe, and Copic markers, black felt tip pen / white gel pen, to colour the image.
I kept adding different shades to the collection of markers I settled for initially, so instead of giving you the list, on the left there’s the photo of the lot.
The Ciao’s are BG96 & BG93 that I used for the holly leaves, E04 for the darkest shade of pink on the cheeks, and W3/W0 for the lightest greys.
You can also spy the patterned paper from My Mind’s Eye All Is Bright paper pad and a thin strip of gold glitter cardstock from Core’Dinations.
These two challenges helped me with the choice of layout and colours (click on the graphics to be taken to the corresponding blogs):
