WMS October Pajama Party

Are you playing with this month’s Pajama Party? No? Tune in to the fun happening on the Waltzingmouse blog, and you could win yourself a store credit (double the value if you use WMS stamps). There’s still a good couple of hours to make something for one of our challenges (Halloween and/or Art Deco – inspired), and the Bedtime Story sketch will be open for the whole week.

I decided to make a little something for the Art Deco challenge. Claire asks for black & white with a pop of colour. I’m guilty of making this card almost white & gold, with a pop of black. LOL!
I combined the new Art Deco Background and Putting On The Ritz stamp sets. I created a circular pattern with diamond and fan shapes, cut a circle in the center which I ’embellished’ with a gold glitter die cut and stamped the sentiment in the recessed inside.

The glittery strip, on the other hand, was made by applying loose glitter to a strip of double-sided tape. I added a length of white string along the top side of the strip, to visually balance the heavy focal point.
I used the CTS#50 sketch, for the card above.

I also created a Halloween card, based very loosely on the Bedtime Story sketch below:

I somehow ended up stuffing all four of the last release Halloween sets, into this number. I stamped the scene in grey ink and added some colour with Copics. Then I added the sentiment (date), the Dracula silhouette and the branches, in black ink. Lastly I cut the slits on both sides of the count (using a craft knife) and threaded a strip of vellum through so that the strip covers the card but not him. I also added a couple of silver sequins but I’ve got to apologize for the poor quality of the photos which makes them almost impossible to see. I took them at midnight; not the best of my efforts but that’s all I’ve been left with at the end of two very intense days…

Now it’s your turn! You can read more upon the details, and link up your artwork on the WMS blog. See you tomorrow! xx

Inky evening

It figures that it’s my third post tonight, so please scroll down to see what else I was up to!
It certainly was a very productive day… card-wise I mean, ’cause otherwise I took the freedom not to give a damn this Sunday… 😉
(it’s good to have a gem of a hubby so that I can allow for a day like this at times)
The day has almost come to an end, though, and I’m looking forward to burying myself in warm bed sheets, with a book…. mmmm
Therefore I’ll make it short and sweet – even more so that I’ve got three cards to show you, and I don’t want you to get bored before you scroll to the end 🙂

For the first card, I cut out the label from the ribbed paper (purchased it at the craft show, I don’t remember the manufacturer), and sponged it with the blue ink, creating the gradient. I love the look!

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: SU! (Old Olive), white (ribbed & plain); paper: October Afternoon; stamps: The Craft’s Meow (Celebrating You); ink: Memento (Tuxedo Black), Versa Color (Cyan); Sprinkles: AnnaBelle Stamps; lace trim; grosgrain ribbon; Nestabilities Labels 18; edge distresser

I combined The Craft’s Meow sketch, with the beautiful colours of Inkspirations Challenge #86.

Next, I’ve got this collage-y little number for you… Oh noes, no stamping involved!!
(this was the last card for an evening, and I was feeling lazy *wink*)

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: PTI (Ocean Tides), cream; paper: Cosmo Cricket; die-cuts: SEI; Leafy Branch die: Taylored Expressions; paper doily; ribbon: PTI; buttons; edge distresser; silver cord; fabric brad

This card is made with VLVSep2011 Week 2 sketch. I can’t believe I actually turned the vertical sketch on the side! I’m not a big fan of horizontal sketches, as you might have noticed… but there you have it! An impulse that I hope worked well 🙂

Lastly, here’s this simple and fun card, featuring the Hauntingly Delightful set from TSG. I thought that although I don’t celebrate Halloween, not inking up these stamps when the credit is due, would be an unforgivable act 🙂
I paper pieced the stamped images, and chose a quite unusual colour combo. Again, the traditional Halloween colours are not at the top of my liking, so I’m always looking for an alternative. I really like this one!

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: white, Canson (red); paper: My Mind’s Eye; stamps: There She Goes (Hauntingly Delightful), Prima (Hex Net); ink: Memento (Tuxedo Black, London Fog), Versa Color (Celadon); Nestabilities Labels 18/Circles; cotton twine

This time I used the VLVSep2011 Week 1 sketch, along with the theme of CFC19 – paper piecing an image on a fall themed card.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope to see you some time tomorrow. Enjoy what’s left of your weekend,

CASE Study Challenge #10

Hello, lovelies! I’m sorry for being absent yesterday. I’ve been as busy as ever, but again, with future projects… do you know that very soon a new Dirty Dozen Fan Club gallery opens on SCS? *wink*
Today we’re bringing you the new CASE Study challenge! Here’s the card of Barbara Anders that I chose for us to work with this week:

I love this one to pieces. Things can’t possibly look more striking, can they? 🙂
I decided to adapt these colours (and layout) to a Halloween theme. I used a lovely image from the magnificent Hautingly Delightful stamp set from There She goes.

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: American Crafts, Stampin’ Up!; paper: Kaisercraft, Scenic Route, Bo Bunny; stamps: There She Goes (Hauntingly Delightful); ink: Versafine (Onyx Black); Copic markers; sewing machine; grosgrain ribbon; button; twine; pearls: Kaisercraft

I also used the colours of cQc#54:

Photobucket

…and I’m entering my card into Copic Oz challenge #3 – All Together Spooky. I’m still terrible with Copics, I know… but I’m glad that I’m brave enough to try new things out, and this time I decided to copy the gradient from Barbara’s card, and I think it didn’t turn out too bad *cough* 🙂

If you’re looking for some more inspiration, check out the creations prepared by the magnificent CASE Study Design Team!
