Today I’m showing you a pair of simple cards with a little touch of shimmer.
This was my first experiment with other than a standard card opening, and a pretty “shy” one lol.
It’s another old set of mine, might I add. I should stop doing this, as soon I’ll resent looking at all this rough work 😛
I’m afraid the quality of photos quite poor here too, for what I apologize.
(the sentiment in the second card says “happy birthday” - it’s just a piece of confetti, and the butterfly - another confetti piece - is glued to a little mirror, hence the blue reflection)

Okay, so it has been a while, but I’ve got my study room finally done! Looking at the cozy space with plenty of room to work, and all my supplies finally sorted neatly around, so they finally come handy without too much fuss, I cannot believe how I could put up with all that mess previously! 😛
I haven’t had much time for scrapping in the last few days, but I still even didn’t get around taking the photos of the cards that I created lately.
Yet since I got myself a juicy bit of scrapbooking supplies and haven’t yet had a chance to play with them, I suspect that I’ll do my best to find the time!
The two sets that I’m going to show you today are actually the first ones that I made, when I got hooked on cardmaking. Maybe except from a few singles that I created before, for different occasions.
As I look at them and I see that so much changed since then lol!
I’m still quite happy with the overall feel to them though - they’re simple, but simplicity is sometimes the key to a successful card.
I incorporated bits of fabric here and there - I think fabric is a wonderful, versatile addition to a card. It would often give a more textured look than a paper, that often strives itself to imitate the attractive texture that certain fabrics have.
Enjoy!
We’ve got a complete makeover madness in the house right now, that’s why it’s been a few days since I last posted. And this situation is going to be prolonged yet for a while more, I’m afraid…
I’ve been trying to find some time for a daily cardmaking, but now it just got too difficult, as we just started moving stuff out of the study, which is next in line 🙂
I’m still feeding you with the “old” sets, that I gradually now find more & more untidy lol.
My adventure with scrapbooking is still relatively short, but I learn a lot every day, and as I find out about some techniques, useful tools and various “essentials”, my cards get a lot neater. They’re still waiting to be photographed though, and this will not happen too soon.
*rolls eyes*
Now it’s time for me to roll my sleeves up and get some more donkey work done, and for you I’ve got a quick set of cards.
Enjoy!
Just a few words of description, as I feel totaled tonight 🙂
We had a very busy day finishing with the bathroom makeover, and tomorrow we’re going to IKEA (my absolutely favorite store!), so I better have an early night as it’s a fair trip…
These ones I made a few weeks ago. It’s the most “intensive” design that I came up with so far.
I think they would be great for children or teens, although they should basically suit any recipient and occasion thanks to “flexible” sentiments.
Although orange is definitely not in my top 10, and I consider it a hard colour to mix and match, I do like the effect, the cards look really cheerful.
Thanks for stopping by,
Chupa xx
I made a set of cards with the colour scheme that I wouldn’t normally use.
I’d usually go for pastels/neutrals rather than for brights like these, but I was feeling especially energetic on the day I made them, and I wanted to break the routine 🙂
I used quite a lot scalloping, perhaps too much, as my scalloping scissors broke during this project.
*laughs*
Anyway, take a look yourselves!
Wishing you all a happy weekend,
Chupa xx
