Autumn memories

It is winter now in Australia.
Call it winter, it’s much different to what I used to have back in Poland… (I moved to Oz just over a year ago, and already miss the mighty snow!)
Anyway, winter it is indeed, but with most of the trees retaining leaves, it reminds me more of autumn. And it’s always been a much cherished season to me, if not a favorite. I just LOVE all the beautiful colours that the leaves turn to!
One day, after having a walk down the road, I came back home with all these colours in my mind, and decided to make a set of cards that would represent the richness of the season.
And here they are:

I don’t yet have a hole puncher (I know it’s a cheapie, I just haven’t yet got time to visit an appropriate shop… *pouts*), so the holes in this one turned out pretty rough 😉

Again a bit messy with the scalloping here, I wouldn’t know why the paper was misbehaving…

Hope you’ll like them!

Just roses…

A set of two cards for today.
I must admit that I’m not quite satisfied with the outcome, especially that I used some lovely papers and ribbons… I had a shortage of supplies, but mainly it was just a quick, a bit careless work lol.
However if I turn a blind eye to the offhand bits, I like the touch of baroque richness in them. 😛

A shabby entrée

I’ve got a fair number of cards lying around, ready to be photographed and uploaded.
I could go on and post the whole bunch of them at once, but I say, one thing at a time.
Actually, time is what I need most at the moment…

Being an (overjoyed) mum-to-be (a happy 30th week now - hoorayyy!) and having bold plans to renovate half of the house before our little girl arrives *rolls eyes*, I haven’t got much free time on me.
Still, if one does not see me with a brush & painting the walls, or running around with some other tool in my hand, I’m probably buried under tons of papers, cardstock, and some more cute bits and pieces, and concocting another card… I’m a bad girl like this 😉
I’m a type of addict, and the addiction to improving our little nest tends to compete strongly with my scrapbooking passion lately…

Anyway, here’s the first couple of sets of cards for you, that I made quite recently.
I wanted the first two to have a country, shabby look, and as much as I’m sure that’s what I achieved, I also suspect that for some they may be a bit too much…

I must say I’m quite happy with the second set, it looks chic and feminine. And I love the butterflies. I think I found them on DeviantArt, but don’t quote me on this…

Introduction

Firstly, let me clear out a few things - if you’re looking for some fresh scrapbooking kits/elements to purchase, or a juicy freebie to grab, I’m afraid you won’t find any here.
I don’t do designing in this matter… not at the moment, maybe one day though! :)
This place is exclusively for inspiration (what some will eventually find here!) and enjoyment.
Whatever route it will follow in the course of time, I cannot say for sure. I’m a person of many interests, and I hope to one day try out a bit of everything that grabs my attention. Sounds like a long, but certainly adventurous way to go… 😛

At the moment I’m hooked on cardmaking, so that’s what you will mainly see in upcoming posts,
although I’m pretty sure that many other strange creations will appear on these pages eventually…

Secondly, in majority of cases I wouldn’t be able to give you accurate information about the source of stock that I’m using, as it’s either no-name stuff or I got it from gawd knows where (memory fails :P)… I’m definitely following the “cardmaking on a budget” scheme (at least at the moment), so it’s unlikely that you find any brand names in my stock.
I own not a single stamp, not a single piece of rub-on sheet, no border punches, etc. What I often do though, is to browse magazines or internet in search for an image/sentiment that suits my project, and simply copy (redraw) it. It can be fun at times, and I’d always come up with something that looks somewhat different from the original 😉

I’m a sucker for free stuff too, so I browse my favorite places on the net frequently, snatching loads of decorative papers, die-cuts, cliparts, etc. that I then print out.
Hail all the generous people that don’t stop presenting us with some wonderful stuff as well as with their amazing talents!
I’m also keenly visiting places like DeviantArt, and let me tell you, there is some really juicy stuff to be found there! Besides, it’s an invaluable source of inspiration, no matter what kind of artsy/crafty thing one’s after.

A quick note though: this “budget-tight” situation is by no means meant to be rigidly followed in the future, as I’m definitely going to purchase some stuff, in order to make my cardmaking aspect of life easier and even more enjoyable. So if you’ll see some familiar stock used, that means I succeeded lol.

Stay tuned, and enjoy!
