Skating bear

I’ve just finished a very glittery, winter-themed card and do I feel sparkly now lol!
Here’s the culprit:

Photobucket

Believe me, I tried to take the photo so that all the bling can be seen, but as usually it’s not the easiest thing to photograph.
Background snowflakes were stamped with the Whisper Grey ColorBox ink, and halfway through drying I sprinkled over it fine yellow glitter. I highlighted the bear’s outfit with brown watercolour pencil.

The card enters Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #46, I’m dreaming of a White Christmas at Daring Cardmakers, Christmas/Winter Card at 2 Red Bananas, and The Pink Elephant Challenge #43 - Colour Me Wonderful.
I will most probably come out with another submission for TPE later, as my preferred way of watercolouring is to make the colours vivid and the image stand out.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I’ll see you tomorrow!

Personalized CD holders

Hello, hope you’re having a nice day!
I’d like to show you the project that I’ve just finished, for JUGS9 - Template Challenge, and Color Throwdown #70 with dusty durango, elegant eggplant and old olive for a colour combo.

Photobucket

I chose a template by Cindy Lyles on Splitcoast Stampers for my inspiration, and I created my sample around it. I didn’t stick to the given dimensions, firstly because inches tell me nothing at all (I come from Europe) and I’m too lazy to convert, but all in all the design is very easy to figure out.
I made these identical CD holders for two of my hubby’s sisters and their families for Christmas. The discs contain the footage from the early hours and days of my precious baby girl 🙂
The sentiment is hand-written and says “memories”.
I don’t know why the colour of the ribbon and the flower turned out so vivid… in fact it’s much more moderate. Oh well, it’s one of these days that my camera decided to play pranks on me lol.

Thank you for looking, hope to see you again soon!

Still making holiday cards…

I told myself the other day that I should already stop with these bloody holiday cards this year (anyone want some? LOL), but they’re so fun to make, and DT teams keep coming up with relevant themes! 🙂
I’m curious to see how many more I’ll create before Christmas… actually yesterday I gave a bunch of them to my sis-in-law and she was pretty pleased, so it’s not a bad idea after all to have a few spare ones available for sharing!
So what’s this card for?

Photobucket

Firstly it goes to OCC’s current Sketch Challenge, Crazy for Challenges Week 13 - Punch Happy, and also CD44 - Real Soft Saffron (as my second submission - these colours together are to die for!)

I made one more card tonight, and this one’s for Embellish Leaves, Acorns & Pine Cones Color Challenge, and PPA18 - KISS.

Photobucket

I discovered the new technique today, that uses chalks instead of inks to colour the stamp. To create such lovely effect, you’ve got to stamp your image with VersaMark, Perfect Medium or other clear embossing ink pad, let it dry for a while to avoid smearing, and with a soft brush or cotton pad gently spread the chalk over it. I find using several shades of one colour more attractive, as it creates some depth.

I hope you like these two, and also the new look (and address!) for my blog 🙂

simple card with an angel

Hello, just a quick post this time, and a simple card to show you:

Photobucket

This is my submission for I is for Indigo Blue at ABC Challenge, KISS - PPA 18 at Pals Paper Arts (where KISS means Keep It Simple, Sweetie), and Winter Love at Simon Says Stamp.
I’m more and more into simple cards… having a baby, it’s just the right solution if one wants to keep up with the crafty stuff 🙂 But apart from that, the simplest designs are often the most lovely.

Thank you so much for looking!

Tree Trimming

I just got my hands on the beautiful SU stamp set, and I’m showing you two more holiday cards that I made with it. I suppose I don’t need any more Christmas cards this year, for I made plenty already, but any extra ones I’ll give out to my family to distribute them further 🙂 I just can’t stop making holiday cards lol!

The first card enters the Embellish Brads Color Challenge at Embellish Magazine (blue, red. green & yellow). I CASE’d this wonderful card by Teneale Williams. I love everything about that design!

Photobucket

Next one is for the Stamps and Smiles sketch (SASSC 42), and the colours are from The Play Date Cafe Challenge PDCC06:

There are a few more Christmas themed challenges around this week (I wonder for how much longer lol!), so I’m submitting these two to all of them. They are:
- Christmas Crackers at Papertake Weekly;
- Crafty Creations Challenge #43 (sadly I couldn’t have a go at the cracked glass technique, as I don’t have a heating gun yet…)
- Charisma Cardz Challenge 47 - Anything Christmas.

Hope you like them, thanks for visiting!
Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends!
