Late night crafting and some CAS cards

Ugh, I know it’s going to be another long post of mine - I like to gather a few new cards and post them altogether, to save me some time daily, but then when it comes to add description to all of them… it can be a scary thought lol.
So, without further ado, my first card:

Photobucket

The sketch comes from the current challenge at Clean & Simple Stamping. I liked Natasha’s sample so much, that I decided to CASE it. I stamped the snowflake and the sentiment from Studio G with the Color Box Ice Jade ink, and popped up the circles on mounting squares. I used my Fiskars punch for the border, and decorated the centres of the snowflakes with Kaisercraft pearls.
I’m also entering this one (together with the next card in the post, with the Cardinal) in the holiday-themed challenges that are still around - PPA21 and Simon Says… Merry Christmas.

Next is the card that I made for Get Sketchy Color Challenge. The requirement is to use one’s favourite colour, and I chose teal. It’s my most amazing discovery this year. I used to find this colour terrible, but in the course of time I started to like it, and finally I placed it high amongst my favs. Once again I told myself not to say never lol. The card also goes to LSC251 – Silver and Gold Decorations.

Photobucket

My silver accents are stickers, that I bought heaven knows how long ago, and would very rarely use. Sometimes they come handy :) The papers are from DCWV, and I used the tag from Sullivans, that nicely coordinated with the rest. The bird is from Inkadinkado, and I shadow-stamped it with Color Box Ice Blue & Prussian Blue (which is effectively my teal)

Then comes the project for the yummy colour challenge at Just Us Girls (JUGS12 - Raspberry, Green, Kraft & Red), and the Inspiration challenge at SCS: IC211 ~ FabulousStationary. I was inspired by this simple yet striking layout with poppy.

Photobucket

I couldn’t go for shadow stamping with a stamp like this, so I stamped it first in black, and then coloured it in with markers, making the colours offset a bit. Then I highlighted the image with a white gel pen. I decorated the card with eyelets, embossed the corner with Fiskars embossing folder, and sponged the edges and the embossed design with Versa Magic Cloud White.

Lastly, there are two tiny cards, that I created after being inspired by another sample from Fabulous Stationery - Shrooms!

Photobucket

These cute mushrooms come from DCWV Green Stack Chipboard kit ( I LOVE this set!!). I Stamped the red cardstock with the little flowers from Sullivans, and decorated the card with some ribbon and dry embossing.

That’s all from me for tonight, don’t ask me what time it is again lol.
Another busy day awaits me tomorrow (every year I’m making a Polish Christmas Eve for my Australian family, and this means cooking very special things for 12 people…), but I’ll certainly find some time to make a card or two.
See you tomorrow then, have a great evening!

It’s all about birds!

Good afternoon ladies, ready for some new stuff?
I recently discovered that I might need some extra Christmas cards to give to my friends, so I’m still (happily) on the holiday roll :)
I was thinking what colours to use on them, and decided on the combo from The Play Date Cafe Challenge PDCC09 - blue, gold and cream. I must say that I was firstly a bit wary of them put together, but as usually, I found out that they can coordinate quite nicely…

For the first card I used some stenciling ( I really liked it the first time I tried this fun technique, and decided to give it another go). Therefore, the project is also my second entry for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC46).
The stenciled design is on the left - I used Fiskars embossing folder, and the bird is one of my favs from Inkadinkado, stamped with Vivid! Yellow ink.

Photobucket

And here’s the card with inverted colours - the ink used here is Color Box Blue Iris.

Photobucket

I used the same sketch for both projects - OCC Weekly Sketch Challenge - SASSC45 (I turned it on the side)
The cards also enter PPA21 - Theme Challenge at Paper Pals Arts. The theme is Winter Wonderland, but the girls accept holiday themed projects as well.

I also want to show you the photos that I took the other day, of the corellas feeding on the pine tree in our backyard. Aren’t they super cute?

Photobucket

Beautiful birds they are indeed, their beaks can be a real threat though - at least to the poor tree, that looked pretty wasted afterward! On top of this, we’re having pretty hot days already - yesterday the thermometre showed 39 degrees Celsius! Oh what fun… *grunts*
So much for the holiday mood here in Australia lol!

That’s it from me for now, thanks for visiting!

Viva La Verve!… without Verve stamps…

Ok, so I don’t have any Verve stamps, which is more than sad… Yet I decided that I participate in December Verve challenges at SCS. The sketches are yummy, and I was feeling sketchy tonight, so I quickly whipped up cards for all December challenges :)
Again it’s late, so I’m going to be brief.

Here’s the card for Viva la VERVE! December Week 1:

Photobucket

The Kiki image was watercoloured. I love the ultimate girly look of this card! :)

This one’s for Viva la Verve! December Week 2:

Photobucket

I chose a non-standard approach to the sketch - I built up the main panel, and reduced the role of the side panels. I used the stenciling technique to decorate the cardstock (apart from the sentiment, that was stamped normally). The same Fiskars stencil was then used to trace the paper-pieced shapes.
Stenciling is the theme of Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC46), thus I’m submitting my card there. I also used (again) the colours from CD47 - Really Green Chocolate. I seem to make two submissions for each Color Dare challenge lately lol! I can’t resist though, go and check their colour combos, if you haven’t done it yet, and you’ll know what I mean! :)

Finally, here’s the entry for Viva la VERVE! December Week 3:

Photobucket

I used my favourite brand’s stamp again - Inkadinkado. The sentiment though is a digi freebie. I printed it out first, cut the paper to the desired size, and then stamped the angel.

Thank you for stopping by tonight, I’ll certainly see you tomorrow!

Red accents and lots of layering

Hello folks, hope your day is fine so far!
The two cards that I’m about to show you cover several challenges, some of them being used on both projects.
The challenges that stay the same for both cards are:
- TSG33 - Time to layer up!;
- Quixotic Challenge #7: Lace (the rules here are to have only one submission per challenge, but they’re both in one post, so they’re not giving me any more chance towards grabbing the monthly prize 😉 )

Now on to the cards:

Photobucket

This one uses the lovely sketch from SC259; and I was inspired by the lively colours of the pot from the current Teapot Tuesday - MMTPT72. Won’t you agree that this pot is absolutely AWESOME?! The last challenge for the card is Simon Says… Merry Christmas!
The image is a freebie from Inger Harding Design, and it was watercoloured.

And the next card:

Photobucket

The sketch used here is Mojo Monday Week 117 (got to love Julee’s sketches!), the colours are pretty similar, and they come from Color Throwdown #73, and I used this gorgeous SU! tree partly for my pleasure, and partly to address the current Banana Split Sunday with the requirement of using a tree on the project.

Hope you like what I’ve done with the challenges! I’m off to feed my baby now, but I’ll be back! (sounds like a threat lol)

Going simple

It’s really late and I feel that if I won’t go to sleep withing the next 15 minutes, I’m going to collapse with my head on the desk lol. That’s what addiction does with people - do you sympathize? 😛
For the above reason this post is going to be super short…

So, here are two new cards:

Photobucket

The challenges that it covers are CD47 - Really Green Chocolate (lol it sounds kind of.. fishy to me =D), and Sketch #30 from Papertake Weekly.

Photobucket

Here the challenges are: Mercy’s sketch MTSC52, and Tuesday Trigger: Velvet Pastels. I drew inspiration from the colours of these lovely stockings, as well as the romantic & girly look.

Ok, I’m off to bed :)
Thanks for stopping by, and see you tomorrow!

Luv me some chalk!

Grrr! My mojo was very low most of the day today… I’ve been struggling to create something that makes sense, and - what is quite unusual to me - I was starting projects that never were finished. Suddenly, late in the evening mojo decided to come back to me, but I’d so like to have back the time I lost fiddling around… 😉

I’m quite happy with my two evening creations though - they were super fun to make, perhaps because I was using one of my favourite techniques - Chalkboard Technique. It’s the theme of the JUGS11 challenge, and I used it on both cards.

Here’s the first one - the sketch that it follows comes from Peachy Keen Stamps (Challenge 18):

Photobucket

I also used the colours from CC249 - So Saffron, Mellow Moss, Melon Mambo, and Neutrals of Choice.
I used a printed out digi DP, and the stamps are Inkadinkado (damask) and Sullivans (sentiment). The damask was stamped with white Versa Mark ink, and sponged with a dark yellow chalk from the Pebbles Inc. Basic Brights palette.
The finishing touches are the ribbon and Kaisercraft rhinestones.

Next card follows the WSC110 sketch:

Photobucket

I decided to apply several different colours of chalk this time, to make the flowers resemble those of Mallow, one of my most loved plants :)
The sentiment was stamped normally, for I didn’t want such small letters look fuzzy.
Both stamps are from Sullivans.

Thank you for visiting tonight, I’ll see you again soon!
