So how was your weekend?

Mine was hectic as usual. I had no spare time that I could devote to card making, although I designed another little set of images, that I’ll feature on one of my next projects, and then hope to digitize very soon. I can’t tell you how excited I am about the idea of hosting challenges here, and giving out my digi sets as prizes! However, I’m so busy at the moment, that I have to put these plans aside for a while… *sigh*
Anyway, on to the usual business! 🙂 I’ve got some new cards!

I designed this little gift set last week, for the “square” challenge at the Cards blog, and I was happy to see it featured there! Moreover, this is my second featured project there - YAY me! 😀
The images are designed by me, and I paired them with some printed out sentiments (I’ll be making them all a nice set of digis too)

Here’s a close-up of the cards. They’re all 10x10cm (4x4in):

The box is not the state of the art, I admit 🙂 I needed to make something fairly quickly, and I settled down for the design I found in my hubby’s Origami book. No adhesive was harmed making this one 😛 (apart from what was used for the embellishments)

Supplies: cardstock: Quill, DCWV; black felt tip pen; watercolour pencils & blender pen; ribbon: Creative Corner

I’m happy to also share with you my DT sample for this week’s sketch at Card Patterns:

Isn’t this a great sketch? The samples from the rest of the girls are awesome, you wouldn’t want to miss this eye candy! I’m hoping that you’ll also come to Card Patterns and play along, so see you there!

One more card for you, a quickie for WT255 - Textiles & FTL76. I stretched the scraps of fabric on small wooden squares, like on the canvas. I thought it would be a fun thing to do 🙂

Supplies: cardstock, paper: Quill, DCWV, Grant; fabric, wooden shapes, button, ribbon: craft supply, black felt tip pen; the sentiment is mine

A fine selection

Hopefully that’s what I’ve got for you today 🙂 It’s also going to be another humongous post of mine, so I hope you’ll take time to have a look at all my new projects!

First of all, let me apologize for my unbelievable negligence! I totally forgot to post my DT card for this week’s sketch at Card Patterns - I can’t believe it happened!!
I’m now making it up for the oversight:

Photobucket

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: Quill; paper: digital printable; stamp: SU! Baroque Motifs; ink: Versa Color Olive, Grant Olive; chipboard letter: Bella (I think so); assorted fabric, lace doily, resin flower, buttons, and twine come from my stash

(I took another photo of the same card that’s on the CP blog, just wanted it to match the rest of the photos lol :P)
This is a very shabby card, I admit, but it turned exactly how I wanted. I had this idea in my mind to use some leftover scraps of fabric, that I’ve been hoarding. They’re all quite small, so I arranged them in a patchwork. Each piece was crumpled a little before gluing it to the card base. I also used some decorative stripes of fabric on the side, and a lace doily.
I’m a classic example of a card maker on a budget, but this card was my biggest recycling attempt yet - almost every piece in it came from my scrap box. Thus I’m entering it into Inspire Me Challenge #5 - one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

I hope you’ll find some time to play along, there’s still plenty of time! Click the sketch above to hop over to Card Patterns and link your card. Here’s the wonderful prize you’re all playing for this week, donated by our very own Michelle!

Yummy, eh?

Right-o, here’s my next DT sample for this week, and this time it’s for the wonderful Color Dare colour combo - CD53 - Not Quite Certainly Blue Suede (well done with the name Riley! Haha!)
Again, click on the link above to play along!

No time means CAS time!

Long time no see eh? Got to love my busy weekends… I was hoping to have some time reserved for posting my new cards today, and I finally managed. I’m still super busy though, and I’m also planning to spend some time in the craft room tonight, so this post will be brief (how novel! haha).
I’ve got five new cards to show you tonight.

Here’s my piece inspired by this pillow from Echo - the theme shop for this week’s Inspiration Challenge on SCS:

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock, paper: Quill; stamp: Jumbo Rollagraph - Four Flowers: Kaszazz; ink: StazOn; watercolour pencils & blender pen; black felt tip pen (the sentiment is my writing); ribbon: craft supply

This one follows Sketch Challenge 264 (SC264), Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC51) - I used three “P’s” on my project - pink, paper piercing and polka dots & The Pink Elephant Challenge #51 - Pink, Polka Dots and Bows (don’t the latter two coordinate nicely? 🙂

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: Quill, DCWV; paper: Grant; ribbon: Sullivans; stamp: Kaisercraft; ink: ColorBox Orchid Pastel; Cuttlebug & Victoria embossing folder; assorted buttons, twine & needle

Here’s the card for the Curtain Call Color Challenge Act 14 & Fall-To Layout 75 (I flipped it):

Next I’ve got the card inspired by this beautiful piece by Karen B. Barber, who’s the Featured Stamper this week for FS155: Time to Hoot Your Own Horn! I inverted the colours, and used the “regular” stamping instead of “black magic”, but kept the beautiful layout:

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: Quill; paper: DCWV; Fiskars border punch (Cristina Re); rhinestones: Bella!; ribbon: Sullivans; stamp: SU! Bloomin’ With Beauty; ink: Versa Color Olive, Sky Gray, ColorBox Wisteria; Cuttlebug & Swiss Dots embossing folder; needle

Lastly, I’ve got the project for CAS51 - Using Designer Paper & Crazy 4 Challenges C4C21 - Pretty In Pink:

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: Quill, DCWV; paper: Grant; ink: ColorBox Ice Blue, Orchid Pastel; stamp: SU! Best Blossoms; sewing machine

Hope you like these! Thanks so much for stopping by and…

Morning’s worth stuff

As some of you might have noticed, I was photographing my cards in a different spot lately. I was trying to find some place that wouldn’t demand getting rid of the background completely, like I did before. I still wasn’t satisfied though, and finally settled down for a proven trick - lots of white space and soft shadows. I really like how the photos turn out now, do you? 🙂

Here are the fruits of my morning craft session:

Firstly I’ve got a DVD holder, that I made for PPA26 - Anything But a Card. We’re having a lot of family living abroad, so documenting our baby girl’s growth, and sending the videos to them is on high demand. Thus personalized DVD holders alway come handy 🙂
I used the colours from CC254: Bashful Blue Suede Rubies. I used dark cream colour as an added neutral.

Photobucket

Here’s the view of the side - it’s a simple clear case, that holds two discs. The spine is not visible on the photo - I covered it with two ribbons - brown on top of the wider cream one.

Photobucket

Supplies: plastic DVD case; paper: Grant, digital printable; Fiskars border punch; chipboard letters and animal: DCWV; ribbon: Sullivans

Next there’s a fun card for Tuesday Morning Sketches #29:

The little card below follows the Crazy 4 Challenges sketch C4C20, and the colours are taken from The Play Date Cafe Challenge PDCC13:
