Feelin’ krafty

First things first - if you’d like to read about some fun news, make sure that you’ll scroll down to see my previous post!
Now, on to the card business :) Two new ones this time. You can see how monothematically my brain was working today (IF working at all - it’s been a HELL of a day so far!)

First card is for the lovely CPS115 sketch. Can you tell how cute this squirrel is, holding a bunch of flowers behind his back?

Supplies: cardstock: Quill; paper: digital; ribbon: My Mind’s Eye; rhinestones, chipboard animal: Kaisercraft; cardboard letters: Fynmark; flowers, lace: stash

The other card is made with the lovely colours of Curtain Call Color Challenge: Act 18, and the sketch from The Pink Elephant:

Supplies: cardstock: Quill; papers: Kaisercraft; stamp (scroll), clear embossing powder: Hero Arts; rhinestones: sand paper;buttons, twine, ribbon: stash

So, you see what I’m talking about - I was being monothematic with my cards today, but what the heck, I still like them!
Thanks for visiting!

An evening’s worth of cutting

I will have a busy morning tomorrow, so I decided that I’d quickly post my evening session cards tonight. Quickly means that there’s not going to be much blabbering this time. Perhaps you need that after all 😛

First card is for the newest SFYTT - what a lovely sketch!
(Ok, let’s face it - I tweaked it - mercilessly. I just can’t help myself sometimes!)
I cut the banner by hand, and I think it turned out quite nice, with that bit of shading.

Supplies: cardstock: Quill, DCWV; papers: digital; stamps: Flourishes; ink: StazOn Jet Black; watercolour pencils: Belgrave; blender pen; Fiskars border punch; decorative scissors; black pen; lace, button, string: stash

The other card uses Karen’s Sweet Sunday Sketch (SSSC57), the colours of ColourQ Challenge #20 & Caardvarks Stuck On You challenge (which is to use stickers - they’re all over the place here, and I’m sure you can easily tell where they are - they’re a bit glossy…)
Tee hee, I love using up my scraps!
Bear in mind, that the way the panels are quite carelessly lined up, was done on purpose. Just want to clear that out, in case someone says that Chupa got herself drunk LOL

Supplies: cardstock: Quill, DCWV; papers: digital; stickers: Grant; ribbon: Sullivans; brown marker; decorative scissors; brads: stash

There you have it… thanks for visiting, as always!
Oh and just in case you missed it, take a look at the Card Patterns Blog Hop announcement in the top right corner of the page. It’s going to be heaps of fun, so I hope you’ll join us!!!

Some CASing, some CASEing

That’s right, I’ve got both for you today - and even more! 😛 In other words - some cards from yesterday’s night session are asking to be published, so who am I not to make them justice? lol

Firstly, let me show you how I was inspired by the awesome Lark store, a theme for IC220. I didn’t get to search around their website too much, for the announcement on the main page, about some beautiful Autumn stuff coming soon, immediately caught my attention. I have this lovely stamp that I bought long ago, but somehow didn’t yet get to ink up, and I thought it would be perfect for the job. Although the image was chalked… I wanted to achieve a soft, muted finish.
Because of the stamp, I’m also entering the card into OCC’s Try A New Tachnique. I’m not a newbie to chalking, but mixing several colours on one image is an exciting new thing that I’ve just discovered :)

Supplies: cardstock: Quill; papers: digital printables; stamp: Grace Taylor (image), Flourishes (sentiment); ink: Versa Color Bark; decorative chalks: Pebbles; ribbon, button: stash

I’ve also got two (three, actually) different CASEs of jovialjudi’s wonderful cards, for FS159: Everything’s coming up Roses!!!! First one below was inspired by Judi’s Embossed Thank You. My changes are: I used a single colour of chalk, and resigned from a scalloped edge for the sentiment. Of course, I also changed the stamp & folder for embossing, and the general colour scheme.
Now, there is a challenge at There She Goes (TSG42) that requires making two identical
cards, that use the same images, but different colours, so that one would be feminine, and the other masculine. This sounded fun enough, but I guess I chose a bit different path for conducting the task. The only image I used is a sentiment, but I really concentrated on the dry embossing. I used the same technique on both cards, but I swapped the folders, and chalked each in different colours. I hope the difference is obvious.

Here’s my feminine version:

…and masculine:

Supplies for both cards: cardstock: Quill; Cuttlebug & Perfectly Paisley, Fleur De Lis embossing folders, decorative chalks: Pabbles; stamp: Flourishes; white gel pen

(I know I didn’t line up the embossing folder too carefully on the second one… my bad!)

My next CASE is of Judi’s Blessings card. These mighty colours immediately caught my attention, and the layout is also awesome! Thus I decided to stay as true to the inspiration piece as possible. I changed the paper & the image, and added a border punch.

Supplies: cardstock: Quill; paper: Grant, digital printable; stamps: Flourishes; ink: Grant; red marker; clear nail enamel (over the heart image); pearls: Kaisercraft; Fiskars border punch

I hope you like the lot! As always, I’m overjoyed with every lovely comment that you’re leaving on these pages, so thank you so much for your interest & encouragement!

Time for another Card Patterns sketch!

Hello girls, hope you’re all having a nice weekend!
I’m here to celebrate with you the start of another delightful week with the Card Patterns team! We’ve got, of course, a new great sketch to play with, but also a fun sponsor - PaperWorks Co:

What is the prize that they generously offer? A gift certificate value of $39.99 to redeem any of PWCO and Little Loud stamps! [The winner can mix and match whatever stamps she like, as long as the value does not exceed $39.99]. Isn’t it great!? They’ve got some really adorable stamps in the shop, as you can see on my sample below:

Supplies: cardstock: Quill; papers, lettering: Kaisercraft; stamp: PaperWorks Co.; watercolour pencils: Belgrave; blender pen; white pen; button & twine: stash

Click on the sketch, or the badge on the right hand side, to hop over to Card Patterns blog and play along with us! We’d love to see what you create!

I also whipped up a quick card today, that I’d like to share with you. It’s made for the Crazy 4 Challenges sketch (C4C25):

Supplies: cardstock: Quill; papers: Basic Grey, Kaisercraft; die-cuts: Kaisercraft; buttons & twine: stash

I love the slightly quirky, retro look of BG Offbeat papers! They correspond so nicely with Kaisercraft’s Peachy Keen line, don’t they?

That’s all folks, have a wonderful Sunday evening!

Third post for today!

Actually I should call it tonight already… Oh my, this was a very busy day for me, and I’m glad that I was able to do more than I was planning to!
I just whipped up two clean & simple cards, one of them being very important for me, as it’s my sample for the final round of the Spring DT Search for the CAS challenges at SCS… I’m keeping it cool (at least I’m trying! lol), but the fact is that I’d really love to make it to the DT… *grins*

So, here’s my said card. The task is to make a “reporter”- inspired card. I chose the birdie to announce the big news to the world. What news, you might ask? Sorry guys, I can’t tell you - I promised not to… *snort*

Supplies: cardstock: Quill; papers, elements: Kaisercraft (Loire Valley collection), Pearls: Kaisercraft; black pen; the sentiment is a computer-generated print out

I downloaded this beautiful collection from Kaisercraft today, and I love it so much, that I decided that I’d make both cards primarily with this stuff. Don’t you just LOVE these colours together!?

The other card is for FTL79 (another AWESOME layout!), but because of the nature of my design, this is also my second entry for PPA30 - KISS (Keep It Simple, Sweetie) & Stampin’ Royalty Challenge #7 - Masculine Cards. It would rarely get any faster & simpler in my books :)

Supplies: cardstock: Quill; papers, journalling spot : Kaisercraft (Loire Valley collection), letter stickers: Cloud9; eyelets, string & buttons: stash

Okies gals - these were quick cards, and such is my post! I should retire now to get some well-deserved rest, and I’ll be back soo with… you know, the usual stuff 😛
