Madness!!

It’s not a stamping madness that I’ve got in mind, unfortunately - although you know that I’m here for a reason, and thus there are some new cards coming 😉 It’s madness at home, that I’m having at the moment! :)
My Chuplet girl entered into yet another stage of her wee life, and decided that she wants to have mommy by her side absolutely ALWAYS. Don’t get me wrong - I LOVE it!! I cherish every single moment that I get to spend with my precious girl, but she’s been relatively “self-sufficient” so far, apart from the recent teething adventure *cough*…
Yet, in the last week or so we’ve been through so much new exciting stuff, and I discovered so many new emotions, that I feel like a different person.
It’s been still only six months since she was born, but when I look back at the time before pregnancy, it seems like ages ago! Being a mum is such a MIRACLE!!!

Now as I promised, there will be some cards :)
First of all, I’ve got to share with you my DT sample for the most recent Color Dare (CD61 - Basically Pretty Green). This is a gorgeous combo, and I must sadly admit, that I totally wasted it… at the time that I was preparing the card, my mojo decided to take a walk, and did not come back before I was done… unfortunately, being a nasty procrastinator, I had no time to try again.
I used FTL83 sketch:

Supplies: cardstock: Quill; paper: Grant; stamp: Papertrey Ink (polka dots); ink: ColorBox Black; sentiment sticker: SRM Stickers; decorative scissors: Fiskars; other: buttons, twine

I was feeling mad at myself about that card, so I used these lovely colours on another one, that I was making for OCC’s sketch for this week (OCCSC8).
I had to make a get well card, and I wanted it simple, not to let the form surpass the content. My neighbour found out recently that she’s got cancer, and had a surgery arranged quickly. The good news is that it’s only a very small one, and there shouldn’t be any problem removing it completely, but still it must have been a shock for her to find out…

Supplies: cardstock: Quill; paper: Grant; stamp: Hero Arts (flowers), Grant (sentiment); ink: ColorBox Black; glitter: Ice Stickles by Ranger; decorative chalks (for shadowing): Pebbles; other: ribbon, button, twine

I’m also having two new, non-DT cards. One is for Mojo Monday 131 (finally played, after a long break - previous sketches were looking too fancy for me…), Color Throwdown #85, and FTTC59 at Flourishes. The latter is to use a faux *something* technique. I took my change (for the first time) on faux silk. So fun!!

Supplies: cardstock: Quill; paper: Grant; stamps: Flourishes; ink: Stampin’ Up Certainly Celery; watercolour pencils: Belgrave; other: tissue, flower, ribbon

The next one is for CC263: Creamy Pink Durangos (ok, so it’s not the most obvious colour combo, but it’s not that difficult either, me thinks…) . The sketch is MTSC66:

Supplies: cardstock: Quill; paper: Basic Grey, Grant; stamp: Stampendous; ink: ColorBox Orchid Pastel, Blush Rose; rub-on sentiment: Fynmark; glitter: Ice Stickles by Ranger; other: button, twine, ribbon

Okie dokie… I must run now - hope to see you back some time soon! {{big hugs}}

Catching up continued…

Argh, what a day I had! I was very lucky to have a little stamping session, squashed between a zillion of things-to-do. I wasn’t so lucky with posting them until now though. After I finish with this, I think I’ll just gladly collapse into bed, as I’m already brain-dead 😉

Short as my stamping time was, I still find my new cards looking satisfactory. Mind you, one took me some ridiculously small amount of time, but it also saved me a lot of extra time, knowing from the start what I want and how I want it. It means a lot, considering that I can sometimes spend ages just trying to find the right supplies to support the idea in my head…

Here are my quick-time creations…

Here’s one using CPS159 sketch, and that follows TSG47 - Simplicity (to make a one-layer card), and the inspiration of CAS59 - New York, New York. My approach to the latter one is pretty straightforward - I’ve never been to NY, I know it only from media. Hence, my first association would be Broadway, Frank Sinatra, 5th Avenue - a classy & a little sentimental world, full of bling and chic.
The glittery frame was made, applying loose glitter on to the strips of double sided tape.

Supplies: cardstock: Quill; paper: Grant; stamp: Inkadinkado; ink: Color Box Dark Peony; rhinestones: Kaisercraft; rub-on: Fynmark; black felt-tip pen; other: glitter

Next card, much different in style and more elaborate, uses the beautiful pastel colours of JUGS25, and the current SFYTT. I’m also entering it into C4C29, that requires a Spring themed project.

Supplies: cardstock: Quill, DCWV; paper: Kaisercraft; stamp: Hero Arts; ink: Color Box Bronze; other: sewing machine, fabric flowers, button, twine

…and lastly, there’s one for a great TESC105 sketch & OCC Think Easter challenge:

Supplies: cardstock: Quill; paper: Grant, digital; stamp: Stampin’ Up! Abundant Hope; ink: StazOn Jet Black; watercolour pencils: Belgrave; blender pen; other: ribbon, buttons, twine

Pretty diverse lot, huh? :) Not so long ago I’d grieve that I don’t have a style… now I’m actually happy to see, that I like to reach for various means of expression. It’s exciting not to be able to see where I’ll go next in my stamping adventure. Especially that there’s so much on my list, waiting to be tried out…
Have a happy evening girls, see you tomorrow! xx

A little catch-up!

Whew! - glad to see the weekend gone… yeah, I know what you think - that I finally lost it, right? 😉
The fact is though that weekends are the busiest time for me & my hubby, as it’s the only time that we can actually do something together!
So - it’s Monday and I finally found some time this morning to catch up on the challenges. Oh how they like to come en masse on weekends! Every Monday I’d find myself wondering, how the heck I will keep up with all my favourites this time, but somehow I do… Oh this is going to be a real struggle for me to part with my addiction for the whole six weeks in June/July!
But on to the cards…

First one is for CCEE1011 - Inspiration Challenge, which happens to have the colours similar to the ones of CC262: Rich Olive Opulence, so I played with these again.
The sketch comes from PPA34, and I’m also entering it into WT262 - A Little Encouragement.

Supplies: cardstock: Quill; paper: Grant, digital; stamp: Hero Arts; ink: ColorBox Wisteria; sentiment sticker: SRM Stickers; Cuttlebug machine & QuicKutz Retro Diamonds embossing folder; coloured marker; ribbon, lace, buttons & twine: stash

Next is the card for Lacy Days challenge at Caardvarks:

Supplies: cardstock: Quill; paper: Grant, October Afternoon Farm Fresh, page from an old book; stamp: Hero Arts; ink: Grant Black; alphabet stickers: Fynmark; rhinestones: Kaisercraft; chipboard star: Lil’ Davis Designs; other: ribbon, lace, trim, staples

And one more project, this time for SSSC61 and IC224 ~ Cutest Food. My inspiration below, these CUTEST cupcakes, can be found HERE.

Supplies: cardstock: Quill; paper: Grant, My Mind’s Eye Be Loved, October Aftyernoon Farm Fresh; chipboard flower: SEI; rhinestones: Kaisercraft; alrub-ons: Fynmark; letter stickers: Creative Imaginations; border punch: Fiskars; other: fabric leaves, button, twine

Here ya’ go! Do you like them? I certainly do! I like how there’s a lot going on on them, yet they don’t look “accidental”. Now I’m going to check out what exciting new challenges Monday brought me this time… Thank you for stopping by! {{hugs}}

Inspired creations

Hi peeps, just a quick post, for I don’t have much time atm…
I made two cards this morning. One is for Color Cue {2} Challenge. Wonderful colours, aren’t they? I didn’t have the exact shade of teal paper though, I’m afraid…
I used this magnificent card by Nichole Heady for my inspiration. Very literal, might I add…. 😛

Supplies: cardstock: Quill, paper: Grant; stamps: Papertrey Ink (polka dots, flowers), Hero Arts (sentiment), ink: Grant Yellow; Versa Color Celadon; letter stickers: Cloud9; border punch: Fiskars; rhinestones: Bella!; buttons, twine: stash

The other one is my second take on the great colour combo for the (almost finished…) Act: 21. THANK YOU so much Sue! You know for what…

Supplies: cardstock: Quill, paper: Grant, Cosmo Cricket Material Girl; stamps: Stampin’ Up Baroque Motifs, Hero Arts (sentiment), ink: SU! Always Artichoke, Certainly Celery; pearl: Kaisercraft; paper piercer; trim: stash

See you again soon, thanks for popping in! {{hugs}}

OCC and second post for today

Hi again girls, I’m glad you’re here! Would you like to see what fun sketch Jennifer cooked up for this week’s OCC Weekly Sketch (OCCSC7)?
I must warn you - it’s not an easy one, and I must say that after some struggle I decided to approach it quite freely… but! - that’s why these are called challenges, right? :)
Click on the sketch to visit the OCC blog - you DO want to see what delicious projects our girls came up with!! Perhaps you’ll also decide to play along?

Supplies: cardstock: Quill; paper, die-cuts: My Mind’s Eye Be Loved (mmmm…); paper flower design by Hot Off The Press; pearls: Kaisercraft; Glossy Accents by Ranger; ribbon, button: stash

This was probably one of my most lazy projects ever *lol* It’s not my usual style to spend 10 minutes on a card (although I really should rethink this!), so I decided to make this lovely flower from HOTP template, to make my time more noticeable 😉 I do like the overall look of the card though - it’s very fresh & cheerful.

I’d also like to share with you my two evening projects.
First one is for the current Tuesday Trigger: Texture + Color = Fun. I understand that it might not be too obvious how I came from the inspiration to this, but let me explain :) The wicker chair brought bamboo top my mind, and bamboo - Japan, so there ya’ go…
I’m not overly satisfied with the outcome, but it’s not too awful either, so I decided not to kill it on the spot *wink*

Supplies: cardstock: Quill; paper: original origami paper; stamp: Inkadinkado; ink: StazOn Jet Black; white gel pen; pearls: Kaisercraft; sentiment sticker: Fynmark; ribbon: Sullivans; Cuttlebug & Houndstooth embossing folder

I made the next card for The Play Date cafe challenge PDCC21 (I’m LOVIN’ these colours!), and I used, yet again, a terrific SC272 sketch:

Supplies: cardstock: Quill, DCWV; paper: Grant; Nikki Silvis; stamps: Basic Grey; ink: StazOn Jet Black; paper piercer; black gel pen; scallop scissors: Birch Craft; ribbon, button, twine: stash

See you tomorrow! {{mwah}}
