A quick hello

hi folks, I’m just quickly popping in - we’re having a holiday today in Oz (Anzac Day), so we’re enjoying the family time, that we have precious little during the week.
I would like to show you two new cards, both made this morning.

First one is for the beautiful TESC110 sketch (I noticed there’s a big trend for quilt patterns lately, but I’m enjoying it very much), and Makeesha’s Inkspirations Colour Challenge #21:

Supplies: cardstock: Quill; paper: Three Bugs In A Rug; stamps: Basic Grey (Farmer’s Market - apples), Sullivans (sentiment); ink: Grant (Light Blue), Versa color (Olive); Vivid! (Brick), Hero Arts (Shadow Ink Soft Leaf); edge distresser: Heidi Swapp; other: string, button

The other one is inspired by this card by Gloria, a Featured Stamper for FS168. I liked everything about that card, so the only major thing that I changed was replacing flowers with hearts.

Supplies: cardstock: Quill; paper: DCWV (Animal Crackers stack); sentiment sticker: SRM Stickers;other: ribbon, twine, jewel hearts, button

Thanks so much for stopping by to see what I cooked up - I’ll see you again soon! xx

Acting *Silli*

Hello girls!
Are you wondering why such title? It’s time for another Curtain Call Color Challenge: Act27, and I paired these beautiful colours with C4C34, which is to CASE one of the DT girls’ cards. I chose Silke Kittman’s (Silli’s) card. Not only I love the layout, but the colours that she used, correspond so nicely with our challenge.

I give credit for this awesome flower design to the super talented Nina Brackett. She posted a tutorial on how to make these on her blog a couple of days ago - click the link above to go and read all about it :)

If you’d like to play with us this week, all you need to do is make a project with our colours as the main focus, post it on your blog or public gallery using the keywords Curtain Call 27, then hop over to Stacey’s Stamping Stage and link it using Mr Linky!

The rest of the awesome Curtain Call Crew has samples to show you today, so make sure you stop by to see:

My Precioussss…. and two cards ;)

Hi girls! We had a VERY busy day, and I feel drained off life on this late evening, so it’s going to be only a brief post. But - I just can’t resist not sharing these two adorable photos with you…

Supplies: cardstock: Quill; paper: Cosmo Cricket (Nutmeg collection); stamp: Hero Arts (flowers), Stampin’ Up! (Trendy Trees - sentiment); ink: Tim Holtz distress ink (Pumice Stone), ColorBox (Black); orange marker

Also, I made a card yesterday, for Embellish Embossing Color Challenge, and OCC Challenge - Blooming Blossoms, but frankly - I’m far from liking it. I was almost finished with it, when I realized that I forgot about embossing, and so I had to add something - the choice being an embossed panel from yellow cardstock. I think it spoiled the effect, but oh well… I made it, so I’m posting it 😉

Vintage inspired

Hi peeps - I peek in with just a quick post. In the so-called mean time, I made a card.
Duh! again…
I used the two pieces below for my inspiration, and they come from Week #6 at The Shabby Tea Room, and the SCS April Fan Club Gallery (DINSP0410).

Welcome (back) on the shabby side

Good afternoon girls, hope the day has treated you well so far! I’m feeling quite relieved, after a surprisingly calm night, and the whole morning to myself - Chuplet has been sleeping until around noon! Woohoo! She really needed this sleep after a few very intense days…

Having a Zuzia-free morning, I did some housework (that’s just what mums do in their free time, right?), and the rest of it I spent card making. Duh!
Here’s what I came up with…

A MOJO135 card, with my attempt at creating a cabbage rose out of paper… take out “rose” from the phrase, and that’s what the result is - a cabbage. LOL

Supplies: cardstock: Quill; paper: digital; ribbon: My Mind’s Eye; letter stickers: Fynmark; sewing machine; other: button, twine, pom-pom trim, fabric leaves, staples

Also, below are my two cards for Caardvarks’ Core’dinations sponsored challenge, which is about creating a monochromatic card. I made the blue one first, and I thought upon finishing: “hey, that’s fun!”, so I decided to make one more.

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: Quill; paper: Bella!, Grant; vellum: Grant; stamps: Grant (frame, butterfly), Stampin’ Up! (sentiment); ink: VersaMark, Versa Color (Celadon); white embossing powder; sewing machine; pearls: Kaisercraft; other: ribbon, lace, white pen

The second one uses the SC277 sketch, and also goes to WT267 Mixing Patterns. I’m doing it almost all the time (mixing patterns), so this challenge is right up my alley :)

Supplies: cardstock: Quill; paper: Bo Bunny; stamps: Papertrey Ink (Blooming Button Bits - sentiment), Hot Off The Press (stamp); ink: ColorBox (Peach Pastel), Versa Color (Sand Beige); Cuttlebug & Victoria embossing powder; sewing machine; flower: Prima; other: crocheted lace

Okey dokey, I’ve got to run now - Chuplet and I are due for a nice walk - but I might just be back later… and if not, then certainly tomorrow *wink* Thanks so much for stopping by, and I’ll see you around!

Encircled

Good evening folks! I wasn’t sure whether I’d find the time to spend card making tonight, but as you can see - I managed :)
It’s been a pretty intense couple of days, with Chuplet being over the top cranky, and I find that what I’d use most now is a good night’s sleep. Unfortunately, the lil’ one doesn’t give me much hope in this regard *rolls eyes*
Also, my mojo decided to take a break from work tonight…which is fair enough, ’cause I tend to force it to work over hours, lol.

I’ve got a sample for this week’s terrific OCC sketch(OCCSC12) to show you:

Photobucket

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: Quill; paper: October Afternoon, page from a notebook; stamp: Inkadinkado; ink: Color Box (Ice blue), Versa Color (Olive, Bark), Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Pumice Stone); Cuttlebug machine & Swiss Dots embossing folder; sewing machine; ribbon: Flourishes; letter stickers: Carolee’s Creations; other: buttons, string

Isn’t this sketch great? If you feel like playing along, make a card on the base of the sketch, then click the link to the OCC Weekly Sketch blog in the sidebar or here, and link your creation!

There’s also a card that I made for the TPE63 sketch, and the colours of CTD89. I wasn’t convinced whether I want to play around with these colours at first (I like bolder, more defined combos, and I’m not a big fan of these shades of blue), but then I told myself that if I played only with the challenges that suit me 100%, the very nature of them would be lost. Get to step out of the comfort zone sometimes, right?
I admit that I used more shades of blue though. I didn’t have the relevant cardstock, so I used this DCWV stack, that happens to have the right colours.
No stamps were harmed in the making of ths one - I cut out and popped up some flowers & leaves from the DP.
