TSG87 - Recycle It!

Its two days after Christmas, and your house is a mess from all of the holiday celebrations! This week we want you to recycle something from Christmas to create a non-Christmas card. You can use wrapping paper, bows, ornaments, core gated cardboard, etc…the possibilities are endless! We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

On my card I used the BG Jovial paper, that I neglected while making my Holiday cards this year. I thought the poinsettias resembled the flowers from the Dance stamp set, and I think it matches nicely. I also have baker’s twine, that I previously used to wrap some of my presents.

Supplies: cardstock: cream, red; paper: Basic Grey (Jovial); stamps: There She Goes (Dance, Dream A New Dream, In Stitches); ink: ColorBox (Maroon), Memento (Tuxedo Black), Versa Color (Olive), Hero Arts (Fresh Leaf), Versa Magic (Spanish Olive); Copic markers; baker’s twine; Nestabilities Circles, Scalloped Circles; glitter: Reeves; white pen

I used Card Patterns sketch 96:

To be eligible for the giveaway, you are to create a card that utilizes your recycled Christmas scraps, and then come back to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the InLinkz that is located at the bottom of this challenge post. This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (Jan. 3rd). The winner will get a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!

By participating in this challenge, you may also find yourself in the Trendsetting Spotlight that shines on the TSG Blog every Thursday. We will be on the look out to find challenge cards that stand out and show Trendsetting qualities. TSG stamps are not required to participate in the challenges but are appreciated :)

Thanks for checking it out, have a lovely day! xxx

The tiniest thing

For the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop, please click here or scroll down. Thanks!

I’m popping in once again, with a card that I made last night. I think my mojo is quite refreshed after a little holiday ease-up, and I’m ready to stamp away this evening :)
I’ve been playing with a new stamp set from Flourishes, that I haven’t yet have a chance to ink up. Did I mention how much I LOVE their stamps?? Goodness, they’re all simply gorgeous.

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: Stampin’ Up! (River Rock); paper: Basic Grey (Curio); stamps: Flourishes; ink: Memento (Tuxedo Black), Versa Color (Bark); watercolour pencils: Belgrave; blender pen; pearls: Kaisercraft; grosgrain ribbon: Sullivans; brad: Basic Grey; leaf decorations

The sketch is SC312, and the colours PDCC61. They totally work together! :)

Papertrey December Blog Hop Challenge

Hello, lovelies! Back to reality now, huh? Every time Christmas is over, I’m being left with a feeling of insufficiency. It passes by so quickly, TOO quickly… especially that media/shops prepare us for the Big Day for a good couple of weeks…

Anyhoo, I find this holiday break nice & relaxing, and having hubby at home means that I’ve got more time for crafting! Thus when I spotted the PTI December Blog Hop information on a fellow stamper’s blog this morning, I decided to jump right in! I never hopped with PTI before, but wanted to do so for quite a while… so there ya’ go :)

Photobucket

Here’s what the task is…
It’s that time again for our annual holiday leftovers challenge! Use scraps of wrapping paper, parts of holiday cards, recycle gift tags or bits of ribbon on a paper crafting project. We all have plenty of it laying around after all the holiday excitement and this is your chance to incorporate some of those pretty little things into an amazing piece of art!

So what did I do? I recycled the scraps ribbon from my gift tags… since it’s my beloved PTI ribbon that I tend to hoard, I knew that it’s up for recycling from the start!

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Rustic Cream, Melon Berry); paper: Jillibean Soup; stamps: Papertrey Ink (Polka dot Basics, Fancy Flourishes, All About You Additions); ink: Papertrey Ink (Fresh Snow, Tea Dye Duo - Camomile), Versa Color (Pink), StazOn (Timber Brown); edge distresser; butterfly punch: Martha Stewart; label: Pink Paislee Artisan Elements; grosgrain ribbon: Papertrey Ink; buttons; thread; pearls: Kaisercraft

Of course, I had to have a sketch to start with, and I chose CPS153, for this week’s “recollection” challenge over at Card Positioning Systems.

With gratitude

Happy second day of Christmas, my fabulous blogging friends!
I’ve been thinking about my passion for paper crafting lately, and how it changed my life.
This year has been very special for me. I remember at this time last year, being still such a novice, I was awaiting with excitement a response from several challenge blogs about joining their Design Teams. This was the beginning of a wonderful journey, and I can’t believe all that happened to me on the way - the beautiful people I met, the passion that feeds me, and the opportunities that my wondeful hobby gives.
Although I usually give my heart and soul to everything I do, and I’ve always been crafty, I certainly had no idea where it’s going to take me, when I was making my first card.
I’m amazed that after a year and a half of pretty intense, everyday crafting, I feel as passionate about what I’m doing, as I was at the beginning.
The joy of creating is tremendous, and each project that I finish is created with much love. I’m aware of all the things that I still haven’t tried, and I can’t wait to do so when opportunity arises. I finally started to share (send out) my cards to my friends, and I never felt better about it. It’s truly an amazingly rewarding, fulfilling hobby… but it wouldn’t be such without YOU. Thank you for supporting me through this year, for giving me wings. A piece of you is in every one of my creations :)
This card is for you!

Supplies: cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Rustic Cream); paper: Basic Grey (Jovial); stamps: Flourishes, Hero Arts; ink: Kaleidacolor (Capuccino); Vivid! (Brick); Papertrey Ink (Tea Dye Duo - Camomile); lace trim; organza ribbon; Prima flower; staples; buttons; cotton twine

I (almost) missed the super gorgeous TSTR41 challenge… how could I possibly resist these cute Scandinavian patterns?? I’m a big fan of their folk art, and look at these the colours… ohhh!
I matched it with the Week 4 December Verve sketch (VLVDec2010)

Thank you for coming, and for giving me reason to create! Big inky holiday kisses to you from yours truly :) xxx

Mercy’s sketch with bonsai

Hello, I hope you’re having a wondeful Christmas! Ours has been awesome, it’s been such a joy to see Zuzia interacting with the rellies, especially with her cousins :)
Now we’re looking forward to two weeks for ourselves, it’s such a great feeling to know that hubby is not leaving for work tomorrow!
I’m actually popping in just very quickly, with a card that I just made for Mercy’s MTSC105. I had to play before it finishes, especially that these fabulous challenges are coming to an end. Is it just me, or the best challenges around are disappearing lately?? I’m not a happy Chupa… some of my favourites are amongst them :/
Anyhoo, here’s the card…
