Back in the saddle

Fingers crossed I am indeed! As I sat back to a card this afternoon, it came together effortlessly, and I enjoyed the process like I never did in the last week. I needed a break badly, I reckon. I still do, as much as I need to re-evaluate my (crazy) hobby and the amount of time that I devote to it.
I’m nowhere near quitting anything, don’t worry :) I will just start doing things at a slower pace, and concentrate more on other fun things that the craft world offers, including designing stamps. I’m sure there are many more exciting adventures around the corner, and I don’t want to burn out before they come :)
Anyhoo, here’s the card for you… you’ve got to excuse the yellowish photo - there’s a strong sun coming through my window, and I can’t for the life of me, make things any better right now.
(Update: I took a new photo… that’s better!)

Thanks for bearing with me - you’re the best bunch of peeps EVAH!! :)

Two

Ok, so I thought I’d try on a little ‘leisurely’ stamping, but I see that I’m still struggling to find my mojo. These are the two cards that I made, you be the judge!

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: PTI (Plum Pudding, Melon Berry, Rustic White); stamps: PTI (Blooming Button Bits, Mat Stack 1 - with die, Delightful Doilies, Polka Dot Basics); ink: Memento (Tuxedo Black, Rose Bud, Sweet Plum), Distress Ink (Frayed Burlap); Nestabilities Circles; satin ribbon: Sullivans; buttons

I made it with Card Patterns sketch 121, and the colours of Moe’s Wacccky Challenge at A Passion For Papertrey blog. If only not my creative blockade… I’m really liking the idea of drawing the colours from a hat. I did some trial draws, to see what combinations I’ll come up with, and heck, there were some really fun ones (where fun means mostly that I’d never put them together myself…lol)

Another one, quite simple design. I tried to be creative with my stamping… I’m not sure whether I like the effect (I’d put things together more neatly next time), but here goes…

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: American Crafts, white; paper: October Afternoon; stamps: Waltzingmouse Stamps (Asian Gardens Additions); ink: Memento (Tuxedo Black), Versa Magic (Sea Breeze); American Crafts Thickers; BG10 Copic; black pen

This time I played with WMSC53. I wanted the clouds to picture the horizontal panels, but I can see that the sentiment works too :)

As always, thank you for paying me a visit! Have a goodie,

TSG113 - A challenge to DIE for!

Hello, sweets! I’m sorry for my absence lately, I’ve been feeling a bit under the weather and sicky. My mojo decided to go on vacation, and I don’t want to risk spending time on the card, only to discover that it turned out terrible :)
However, after a couple of days of taking it easy, I’m seeing progress, and I might give a little catch-up with challenges a go later today…

My Trendsetter week starts today on the TSG blog, and I launch it with a fun challenge.
All I ask you to do, is to use at least three different dies or punches on your card/project.
Easy peasy, might I add :)
I inked up the fabulous and hilarious Domestic Goddess set, for my sample:

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: American Crafts (green, red, PTI (Aqua Mist), white; paper: October Afternoon; stamps: There She Goes (Domestic Goddess); ink: Memento (Tuxedo Black); Copics; Nestabilities Ovals/Scalloped Ovals/Labels 18; border punch: EK Success; buttons; flowers; baker’s twine; Sprinkles: AnnaBelle Stamps

The sketch comes from VLVJun2011 Week 4 challenge:

To be eligible for the giveaway
, you are to create a card that uses three different dies/punches and then come back to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the InLinkz that is located at the bottom of this challenge post. This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (July 4). The winner will get a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!

By participating in this challenge, you may also find yourself in the Trendsetting Spotlight that shines on the TSG Blog every Thursday. We will be on the look out to find challenge cards that stand out and show Trendsetting qualities. TSG stamps are not required to participate in the challenges but are appreciated :)

You do not need to have a blog to be able to participate in the TSG Challenges! You can simply add the URL link from your project after it has been uploaded to your online craft gallery. If you upload your card to an online craft gallery, please use the keyword TSG113 so we can check out your beautiful work!

Hugs and smiles,

PTI June Blog Hop

I thought I’d challenge my fading mojo, and tried on one more card tonight. I would’ve normally try to sleep it over, but I skipped one or two months of Papertrey Ink Blog Hops, and I really wanted to join in this time around - especially that there’s some very interesting inspiration photo provided:

I wanted to make a gradient card for a while now, and the inspiration seemed nothing but fitting. I incorporated the punched borders, for added interest and to suit the other two challenges that I’m entering this card into : Beautiful Borders Challenge in the Moxie Fab World, and CFC#8 - Getting Edgy.

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: PTI (Aqua Mist, Hibiscus Burst, Berry Sorbet, Melon Berry, Sweet Blush, Spring Moss, Simply Chartreuse, Ripe Avocado), white; stamps: PTI (Say It With Style, Turning A New Leaf); ink: Memento (Tuxedo Black, Summer Sky), Versa Magic (Spanish Olive); RV04 Copic; sewing machine; border punch: Fiskars; buttons; glitter glue

Night, everyone :) Thank you so much for stopping by! xxx

A CASE of friendship

Yet another post for you today, folks! Make sure you’ll scroll down for my CASE Study post, as well as the last TSG Blog Hop for June… some exciting things are going on ATM :)

I finally got around to playing with the current Free 4 All challenge on SCS, called “A CASE of friendship” (F4A69). It took me a while to pick an artist and the card, I would have at least a dozen of them that I’d readily CASE. I settled down for this amazing card, by my sweet friend Eva Dobilas (tradergirl). I love the card, and I love the person who made it… perfect combination :)

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: white, American Crafts (green, pink); paper: Basic Grey, Pink Paislee; stamps: There She Goes (Blossom By Blossom, Forever); ink: Memento (Tuxedo Black), Versa Color (Celadon); Copics; Nestabilities Labels 18; sewing machine; border punch: EK Success; ribbon: SU!, stash; string: AnnaBelle Stamps; pinking scissors; Liquid Pearls (Petal Pink, Pastel Raspberry); flowers

I also picked up a colour inspiration from TSTR67, and I’m playing with Wild Orchid Challenge #26 - Shabby Chic Friendship.

I hope you like the card… it took me ages to make, but it was so much fun too. HA!
Take care, and have a fabby day!
