Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 62

Hello friends!

By the time you’re reading this, I’m possibly already back from Paperific, a Melbourne’s humble but FUN equivalent of CHA, and I’m also most probably eyeing my new toys, whatever they are… :)

It’s late night on Friday that I’m writing this though, and I’m pretty tired with today, wishing I could make it to bed soon! Oh, I hope I will…

However, I would like to share with you this week’s Waltzingmouse Sketch post first.

LinkThis week’s sketch is brought to us by Anya, and it’s a tag!

Now, if you know me a bit, you know that I’m thoroughly a card person.

(I wish I could get more creative and dabble in other projects more often, but cards are just what makes me most happy)

Therefore I designed a pocket card, and slid my tag inside it!

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: Canson (grey), American Crafts (peach), white; paper: My Little Shoebox; stamps: Waltzingmouse Stamps (Vintage Labels 14, Fancy Phrases); ink: Versafine (Onyx Black), PTI (Fresh Snow); grosgrain ribbon; sewing machine; Nestabilities Circles; string: AnnaBelle Stamps; buttons

I don’t have any tag templates/dies, so I cut out the shape myself. I simply drew a few circles on one end of the tag and cut along the edges. Then I die-cut the small circle, adhered to the tag and punched a hole where I wanted the string to be threaded.

Head on over to the Waltzingmouse Sketch blog, to check out the rest of the fabulous creations, designed by the Mischief Makers! We would love to see your interpretation of the sketch as well, so I hope you’ll find the time to play along this week.

Thanks for visiting! xxx

Glitz Design - bannerific

Hello sweets, I’ve got a new Glitz Design post ready for you!

I didn’t plan on this, but there’s a banner on each of my cards. I love banners but I don’t seem to use them often enough… They’re also placed in the same spot - but the layouts are different. Let’s get to it!

The alphabet stickers on the card below, spell “smile”. It’s a gold lettering on red background and I have trouble photographing it.

I took advantage of the Paper Layers, and cut out the girl and the banner out of one of the “Love Games” papers. These papers are quite thin, so I’m always adhering them into cardstock before cutting out bits off it.

Glitz Design “Love Games” papers: Stripe, Scorecard, Polka

Glitz Design “Love Games” Whatnot

Glitz Design “Love Games” Paper Layers

Glitz Design “Love Games” Peek-A-Boo

Glitz Design “Scarlett” Titles Cardstock Stickers

Glitz Design Frosting Red & Black

Other: cardstock: Canson (black); sewing machine; string; Dizzy Doily die: My Favorite Things

I took the layout from the current OCC challenge:

This time a Peek-A-Boo banner, made it onto the baby card. I embellished it with some pom-pom trim and a gingham bow.

Glitz Design “Afternoon Muse” papers: Stripe, Scorecard, Polka

Glitz Design “Afternoon Muse ” Whatnot

Glitz Design “Afternoon Muse” Paper Layers

Glitz Design “Afternoon Muse” Peek-A-Boo

Glitz Design Cream Teeny Alpha

Other: cardstock: SU! (yellow); pom-pom trim; gingham ribbon; ; Cuttlebug embossing folder (Paisley);buttons; sewing machine

The sketch this time comes from Inkspirations Challenge #83:

I hope you like them :) Thank you for visiting! xoxo

I scrapped…

Please scroll down for the TSG Blog Hop and the CASE Study post. Thanks! :)

I was browsing through a scrapbooking magazine this morning, and I had an urge to make a layout. I get this feeling now and then but most of the time I shy away from it due to lack of experience and the fact that I just can’t take a good photo of a layout.

I may be saying the latter every time I post a scrapbooking page, but it gives you an idea on how annoyed I am with the subject… I should really use a tripod for a job like this :/

Anyhoo, I had an idea to combine the Embellish Embossed Flowers Color Trends Challenge with the Fabulous Felt Challenge in the Moxie Fab World. I wet embossed the PTI flowers in the top left corner (as well as the bee in the bottom), and I used some felt letters, a funky flower paper clip and a square of felt for my “mosaic”.

You be the judge whether it’s an acceptable job. I’m very much on the edge with it, although I must say that with every new LO that I make I seem to do better little by little :)

Supplies: cardstock: American Crafts (kraft), white; paper: My Mind’s Eye; stamps: PTI (Out On A Limb Sentiments); ink: VersaMark, Distress Ink (Frayed Burlap); clear embossing powder (Hero Arts); sewing machine; mini pegs; tag: Pink Paislee; paper clip; alphabet stickers: American Crafts, Glitz Design; chipboard bird: Collections; string: AnnaBelle Stamps; wooden button; sentiment die-cut: SEI; red marker

Here’s a couple of close-ups:

CASE Study Challenge #54

For the TSG Pumpkins On The Vine Blog Hop, please click HERE!

We are finishing the Anniversary month at CASE Study with style, by giving you a “free for all” challenge this week.

What does it mean? We are asking you to show us YOUR style at its best. No restrictions, no given inspiration - just you and your favourite supplies. Sounds like fun??

Of course we (DT gals) also had the same challenge before us, and here’s what I came up with…

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: PTI (Sweet Blush, Ocean Tides, Rustic White, Fine Linen); paper: Echo Park Paper (Victoria Gardens); stamps: PTI (Mat Stack 1, Mega Mixed Messages, Turning A New Leaf); ink: Versa Magic (Pink Grapefruit, Oasis Green), Memento (Tuxedo Black, Angel Pink); ribbon: PTI (Fine Linen); Glossy Accents (Ranger); border punch: EK Success

I combined a couple of my all time favourites on this card: the colour combo, stamps and layout, cut out leaves. I added a couple of accents that I don’t often use, like a negative die-cut and a hand-made flower, but I think it’s pretty much a “Chupa card” :)

I’m entering this card into A Passion For Papertrey’s Anything Goes challenge.

I’d love you to visit the rest of the CASE Study Design Team’s blogs, to see what they cooked up with the inspiration…
