Jay Gee’s Nook Challenge #13

With the last Sunday of the month, arrives a new challenge at Jay Gee’s Nook!

This time we are not having an inspiration collage, as we usually would. With Halloween just around the corner, we are asking you to create a non-Holiday card, WITH Holiday-themed stamps.
I had more fun with my sample, than I expected! I took that adorable animal from the Hero Arts Christmas Reindeer set, and paired it with the sentiment from Cuckoo (also by HA).
The result is a hip card, suitable for any season and recipient :) Who says that sweater-wearing reindeer can’t be roaming the spring meadows?

Supplies: cardstock: recycled kraft, cream; paper: Echo Park Paper, Cosmo Cricket; stamps: Hero Arts (Christmas Reindeer, Cuckoo); ink: Memento (Tuxedo Black); Copics; sewing machine; MFT Die-Namics (Scallop Border, Fresh Cut Grass), PTI Cloud die; Cuttlebug embossing folder (Swiss Dots); baker’s twine

I used the colours/theme of Embellish Die Cuts Color Trends Challenge. The scalloped border, grass and clouds, are all die cut. In case it’s hard to figure out, the clouds are made in a negative die cut technique. I just slip some patterned paper underneath.

Hop on over to the JG’s Nook blog, to see the rest of the DT gals’ creations! Enjoy your weekend,

  1. Holy moly, girl, you’ve been an a creative streak! Love the last four posts and great variety of your cards. Gonna ask Santa for one of your creative genes LOL!

  2. Chupa this is so cute - I’m smiling like an idiot! Bet your daughter loves this one. Your reindeer is so sweet in that purple sweater!! I remember listening to the news on XMAS eve hearing reports of flying reindeer and looking for them out the window. Love it - thanks for the memory.
