The Craft’s Meow April Release Blog Hop

Welcome to the The Craft’s Meow April Release Blog Hop! I hope you enjoyed the previews, and you’re surely waiting impatiently for the big reveal :)

The Craft's Meow

Please note, that Blogger has been causing problems for some of our designers all week long so you may come across a few of our designer’s blogs that do not appear updated with today’s blog hop post. If that happens, please refer to the hop order at the end of my post or on The Craft’s Meow Store Blog to continue on, but make sure you plan to check back on the other blogs because you’ll need to leave a comment on each blog in order to win our BIG PRIZE!

So, what’s the prize, you ask?? All SIX sets released this month!
The deadline to comment on each stop in the hop is 9:00pm PDT, Monday, April 23rd.

On my card today, I combined three of the newly released sets. I white embossed the border (row of pearls) from Inspired By Audrey, and stamped the decorative label in orange. In it I put the sentiment from Giddy Up (a set which can be your FREE gift, with every $50 purchase from the Store).
The car from Vintage Rides, was coloured with Copics, and mounted with foam tape, over the panel die cut with S4-132 Classic Rectangles LG and S4-133 Classic Scalloped Rectangles LG.

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 94

Hello! It’s time for a new Waltzingmouse sketch, we hope you’ll join us!

On my sample card, I designed my own patterned paper, using the diamond backgrounder from Heirloom Patterns, and stamping it in bright pink and light green.
Then I stamped the heart from Nordic Spring, with the same colours, and die cut it with S4-136 Classic Heart Nestabilities®.
The sentiment is from French Country, and it was die cut with S4-324 Ribbon Banners.
I added a strip of kraft paper through the center of the card, with the stamped element from from Nordic Spring.
I topped it all up with a bow and a flower. Voila!

I played with the colours of CTD188:

The Craft’s Meow April Release - Day 4

Yee-haw!! We’re rolling up the April release for the The Craft’s Meow, with a fantastic set designed by Nina!

The Craft's Meow

The set is called Giddy Up, and can be yours with a minimum of $50 purchase from the TCM Store! Yep, you got it right!!

It’s one of my favourites this month.
I haven’t been a huge fan of an Old West theme, but there’s some really sweet stuff around that made me approach it more liberally. After seeing this baby, my heart opened for good… just look at this horsey!!

Photobucket

The label is also a part of the set, and I slit openings on both of its sides, to thread the ribbon through.
The focal point was created by combining Spellbinders™ S4-335 Star Circles, Melissa Frances scalloped sticker, and the image stamped in Versa Magic ‘Sahara Sand’.
The damask paper comes from Pink Paislee’s ‘Nantucket’. Mmmmm…

For my inspiration today, I picked the FMS31 sketch (turned on the side), and the colours of CR84FN52:

Please visit the rest of the DT’s blogs, as they’re sharing more projects with us today. Also, save some time for the Blog Hop tomorrow, which will sum up the release with more stamped goodness from all of us. See you then!

The Craft’s Meow April Release - Day 3

It’s Day Three of the April release at The Craft’s Meow today, and we’ve got two more sets to show you!

The Craft's Meow

Nina Brackett designed the Vintage Rides set and Jenny Suchin comes today with Owl Journaling. They are both adorable!

First off, Nina’s Vintage Rides. With four types of vehicles, a banner to attach to each of these, with some handy-dandy sentiments to fit in, and more, this set has got me covered. I will surely have heaps of fun using it over and over again, and for this card I chose the bike and a bunch of balloons (cut out twice), that I attached to it. Ladies and gentlemen, we’re setting off!

Photobucket

The papers are from Cosmo Cricket‘s Baby Jane pad, but I also smuggled in some American Crafts and an October Afternoon journaling card.
The panel under the bike was sponged with teal ink and the edges sewn. The sentiment was die cut with S4-110 Classic Ovals LG.

I’m playing with Retro Sketches again today:

Jenny’s set, Owl Journaling, i full of cute office accessories, banners (and our owlie of course, too), and I put some of these together for this card:

Here’s a close-up of the stamped chevron pattern, and the detail of the curled up corners. These little snippets were assembled with the aid of a few different stamps. You can mix & match to your heart’s content!

I hope to see you tomorrow, for the last day of previews! Make sure you’ll visit all of the designers’ blogs today, for a plethora of inspiration. You can find the all of the sneak peeks HERE.

CASE Study Challenge #87

Happy Thursday, inkers! Almost weekend, eh?? It can come any time, as far as I’m concerned…
In the meantime, there’s lots to be shared on my old bloggie, and one of them is a new inspiration card by Laurie Schmidlin, our April Muse at CASE Study! Look…

I loved two things especially about this card - the woodgrain and the pop of intense colour against blacks/greys. For my inspired card, I decided to use both.
Mine is one of these “better-hand-it-over-personally” type of cards… full of delicate die cuts that hang over the border :)

Photobucket

I combined some HA stamps, Cosmo Cricket washi tape (also copied from the inspiration card!) and the butterflies from two Spellbinders™ die sets: LF-006 Wonderful Wings and S5-051 Fanciful Flight.

For more inspiration, I reached for the FTL186 sketch, and the cQc#133 color palette:

The Design Team prepared some beautiful samples today as well, click on any of the links to be taken to their blogs:

The Craft’s Meow April Release - Day 2

Hello! I’m glad you’re here, to join us in the second day of The Craft’s Meow release!

The Craft's Meow

Today marks the introduction of Karen Baker‘s inaugural stamp set, called Inspired by Audrey. Audrey Hepburn, that is. And it’s sophisticated and feminine as Audrey was herself…

Photobucket

The tiara-like label fits nicely in Spellbinders™ Nestabilities S5-026 Labels Twenty, and after having it stamped in Memento Lulu Lavender, I chose one of the lovely quotes and sponged everything with Distress Ink.
The papers and die cut embellishments, come from the Basic Grey “Plumeria” collection. As much as I’m more inclined to use purple these days, it’s still way out of my comfort zone, especially combined with mustard yellow and…. pink! Gosh!
Hence, it’s a perfect card, methinks, for RCC49… It asks for bright colours that we wouldn’t normally choose.

Now, the fun part is, that the strips of paper at the top and bottom of the card, are stamped. Well, partly, because one of BG plain papers was the base… The decorative elements were stamped in brown, and I coloured in some of the flowers with a pink Copic.
I hope you like the effect… I really do!
See you tomorrow, for the third day of previews and two more gorgeous sets! xx
