PTI August Blog Hop

Wowee! Totally unplanned post, guys… Weekends always mean a busy bloggie time, but by the looks of it, there is a total of five posts scheduled for this one! Between the two behind (please check them out below, if you fancy) and this one, there’s also a JG’s Nook and Sketchbook cards coming early tomorrow. Brace yourselves… *wink*

I’m up late surfing the net (so not surprising), and I stumbled upon the PTI August Blog Hop. I figured that I could join in with a quick card, since I haven’t done so in months, and the challenge is right up my alley.

Autumn. Anything Autumnal pulls on my heartstrings, especially so, now that I’m deprived of the golden Polish Autumn as we call it and missing it so much. Let’s see the card, before I get all mushy… 😉

So what’s in it? Kraft and Rustic Cream cardstock (yes, you heard that before - love this stuff).
A pattern from A Little Argyle stamped in Memento inks: Peanut Brittle, Toffee Crunch and Espresso Truffle (don’t these names make you all warm and fuzzy inside??)
A Simple Sunflower stamp, done in Memento Pistachio & Cantaloupe, cut out and popped up on top of a PTI die (forgot the name… anyone?)
Fine Linen ribbon and some jute string. Kaisercraft button. Ta-daaa!

I hope you like :)
Good night to me (high time!) and a happy whatever you’re having! Back soon enough…

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 112

Hi peeps, ready for a new Waltzingmouse sketch??

First of all, have you guys seen the new release yet? I just about fell off the chair when I saw what’s in offer. I swear I’m going for broke this time around… lol
In the meantime, I still can’t seem to put away the My Island set. I combined these stamps with the surfboards from Free Spirit - Boy for the little scene I created here.

I stamped the surfboards first, in Memento Tangelo, and added the palms overhead, stamped in London Fog. I used most of the big palms stamp for the left hand side, and then inked only the tops for the upper part.
For the paper part, the cardstock is SU! Tempting Turquoise (scored) and there’s a strip of Basic Gray as well. I also tucked a scrap of Authentique DP, under the panel.

Here are the colours that I used (cQc#151), they were perfect for this card.

I’m also playing with the Gallon/Quart/Pint challenge in the Moxie Fab World. The task on hand is to arrange the three main colours, so that each of them takes the assigned space on the project. My main colour (Gallon) is of course turquoise. Next I’ve got a “Quart” of orange and a “Pint” of grey. My added neutral is white, but I sneaked in a dash of black too.

Hop over to the Waltzingmouse Sketch blog, to see more from the Mischief Makers and play along! Cheers,

Three ferns going digital

Hello, weekend! It’s a busy one, so please excuse the quick post. I’m still to prepare my Sketchbook card for later today, so I better get moving :)
I created a CAS card, using my Cameo to cut the digital file from Hero Arts, Three Ferns. I own and love the rubber stamp of the same name, and it was fun to use this silhouette in another form as well!

I cut the ferns out of Bazzill cardstock, and inked the tips of the leaves with darker green ink. The background was sponged with Versa Magic inks (Sea Breeze & Tempting Turquoise).
I also added three AnnaBelle Stamps Sprinklers, to the bases of the leaves.
The sentiment is also from Hero Arts, it comes from the Many Birthday Messages set and was stamped in Provincial Gray Fresh Ink.

I created this fun thing using FTL205 for my layout (I changed the placement of the sentiment), and the theme of ‘green’ from the CASology challenge #7:

I’m also entering it into The Asymmetry Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.
Be sweet! Back soon,

CASE Study Challenge #105

As the Anniversary celebrations at CASE Study continue, this week we are challenging you to CASE one of our players! We’ve got a fantastic bunch of submissions to our challenges every week, and some amazingly creative people are playing with us. If you’d like to join in, we invite you to scroll through our past challenges and find the card once submitted, which you’d like to be inspired with.
Also, don’t forget that we introduced a search for a month-long Guest Designer! Just pop a “GD” next to your name while linking your entry, to be considered for our new Guestie :)

I chose this beautiful card by Erum, for my inspiration:

Erum won our challenge with this card, a couple of weeks ago. With my Silhouette now ready to be explored, I immediately thought of playing with a negative die cutting myself.
I love the organic look of this card and decided to add splatters of ink as well. Instead of the painted background, I settled down for uniform green and highlighted only the birds, cut again with Silhouette from the deep orange cardstock.

The base of the card is made out of the New Leaf CS from PTI. The splatters are made with October Afternoon Sprinkler in Treehouse colour (Sidewalks collection).
Lastly, the sentiment comes from the PTI set, Out on a Limb Sentiments. Love that set.

The Design Team prepared some beautiful samples today as well! Click on the links below to be taken to their blogs.

Christmas in August

And here comes another challenge card… lol!
I had THIS brilliant card by Mary Dawn saved in my inspiration folder for quite a while, with the intention to CASE it, and the time finally happened.
I love absolutely everything about it, and I had to force myself not to copy it to a “T”. In the end I replaced her snowflake with baubles.

I stamped PTI polka dots across kraft cardstock, and paper pieced the Hero Arts baubles (from the Decorate Your Holidays set) with Teresa Collins papers. Then I cut them out and applied Smooch liquid glitter to some parts. The sentiment comes from the same HA set.
The boughs were cut with my Cameo. I’ve been giving it a workout again :)

I’m entering this card into The Krafty Crafter challenge at A Blog Named Hero, and The Focal Point challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

Until later, peeps!

Summer fun

Hi sweets, another quick post! I had just a bit of time to have a quick play with my Cameo again. A couple of challenges are of a summer theme this week so I ran with it :)

I used PTI Rustic Cream for my base, and cut the sunburst from Harvest Gold with Cameo.
Then I cut the umbrella from white cardstock and filled the parts with different colours of Copics. There was a little sun in the set as well as an island, that I didn’t need. I replaced the island with a piece of kraft cardstock which edge I torn on one side.
I finished the card with the sentiment and postmark from two discontinued sets from The Craft’s Meow: Summer Fun & Travel Time. A bunch of terrific sets that are now retired, are listed on the TCM website with huge discounts applied to them. The stocks are limited, so hurry up if you’d like to get a deal :)
You can see all stamps on sale HERE.

I’m playing with CSC66, and seeing as the first challenge at The Cameo Spotlight is still open, I’m having another bite at it :)

See you tomorrow, for another CASE Study post! Smooches,
