October ACSP publications

Hello! It’s high time I shared with you, my contribution to the Christmas issue of Australian Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft magazine!

I’m happy to say that I’ve got a total of six cards inside, with one of them making me a cover girl again! Good feeling, that 🙂
I apologize for the quality of photos, the light is terrible today… good thing I’ve got the home photos to share as well!
This set of three, you can find on pages 26-28.

And that’s how it looked like before it hit the post office… gives you a bit of a clearer look.
I used Spellbinders dies, Penny Black sentiments and different polka dot papers.

Next is the Time Management feature, where I contributed with two versions of a simple Christmas card, great for those who are mass producing these before the Holidays! Find these on page 56.

Again, here’s a better photo, but yet without the ribbon and with a darker colour of the cardstock - I had some last minute changes done 🙂
The stamps all come from Waltzingmouse.

Lastly, a sketch feature card, that made it to the cover as well as page 82!
Cosmo Cricket papers and lots of Spellbinders dies is amongst what I used on it.

Thanks for stopping by today! See you on Thursday, for a CASE Study card 🙂

Sketchbook Saturday Challenge #82

Hi again, sweets! Last post of the weekend, please see the rest below.
It’s high time for another sketch, but before I get to it, a bit of announcement. My parents are coming for a long awaited visit this Thursday (all the way from Poland! can.not.wait.) and we’ll need some family time, obviously 🙂
Therefore, from now on I’m be posting my sketches on a BI-WEEKLY basis. I hope that it’s a good decision and that those who didn’t get to play multiple time in the past, because of the time limits, will now have more chance to do so.

Now, let’s roll in the sketch! The idea of mine is to have a window cut in the skewed panel, with stuff peeking out from underneath, but you can, of course, treat it as another layer instead, or whatever your mojo tells you fits best 🙂

I cut my panel with Nestabilities and “inserted a glass” in the window, or in other words, I put a piece of vellum behind it. lol

This stunning flower is an Impress stamp, which I inked with Memento Cantaloupe and Peanut Brittle, the darker shade layered on top of the other. The sentiment is Hero Arts Truly Appreciated, and the DP - Studio Calico.
I curled up the petals of the flowers, it’s actually quite dimensional and looks really lovely. I should’ve taken a good photo of it…

A few things to keep in mind if you decide to use my sketch:

- You’re kindly asked to save the image onto your computer first, and if you make a card based on it, please link back to this post.
- If you upload your card to an online gallery, use the code SSC82.
- Feel free to share the link to your creation via the Inlinkz widget, so that I can come and check it out!
- The colours/elements mean nothing towards the card. All styles, colours and supplies, as well as slight alterations of the sketch are welcome.
- A new sketch and sample is posted every other Saturday (occasionally Sunday, if I’m running late), but you’re welcome to play any time! Just leave a link in the comments section after Inlinkz widget closes.

Jay Gee’s Nook - You are loved

Hello again 🙂 I’m popping in quickly, with another creation for Jay Gee’s Nook!

I chose Pretty Peonies from Jane’s Doodles to ink up this week, which with a little help from PTI leaves and some stitching, formed this cluster of slender blooms:

The card base is SU! So Saffron, and I did the stamping on a watercolour paper, for an extra texture. The striped DP comes from My Mind’s Eye.
It’s a bit of an unusual colour combination, but I like it - especially how the strip of paper balances the rest with the cool tones and placement 🙂

I’m entering this card into the Stitching & Sewing Challenge in the Moxie Fab World 🙂

Hop on over to the JG’s Nook blog, for more from the Design Team! Inky hugs,

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 121

Hi, happy weekend! As always, we’ve got a new Waltzingmouse Sketch for you, check it out!

I finally had a go at Half Pint Heroines, a set that I’ve owned for a long time, but one that just saw ink for the first time. I adore these images but was waiting for the perfect idea & sketch to use it with. Or, perhaps I just needed a good day for all that paper piecing 😉

Apart from the sky, I made this card entirely with scraps, it always makes me feel good. The ‘grassy’ panels were embossed with Cuttlebug folders: Victoria & Swiss Dots.

Visit the Waltzingmouse Sketch blog, to see more from the Mischief Makers and link up your entry! Remember that the rules have changed and you don’t need to use WMS stamps any more, in order to participate. However, only the entries with WMS images will be eligible for the prize 🙂
Catch you later!

The Craft's Meow

You’ve got the ultimate chance to grab ALL SIX of the new sets, simply by visiting and commenting on each stop in the hop!
The deadline to comment is 9:00pm PDT, Saturday, October 27nd.

I seem to have favoured one set when preparing my samples for today - clearly my favourite from the Release 🙂
Holiday Foundations is another set of Karen’s that’s chock full of fabulosity. Check out the fun polka dot background here:

IMG_1241

The whimsical snowman comes from Christmas Cheer, I very lightly highlighted it with Copics to give it some fullness. The sentiment, on the other hand, belongs to Hearth and Home.

I made the latter set (Hearth and Home), the focal point of the card below. Lots of Copic colouring here. I was a bit on the edge at first about colouring this piece, I didn’t know if I can handle the fire. All in all, I think it doesn’t look too shabby 🙂
I stamped another pattern from Holiday Foundations, on the top and bottom of the card. The sentiment comes from Christmas Angel.

Lastly, I’ve got this collage-style card, put together with the ivy branches from Hearth and Home (again, Copics used here and highlights done with white pen), and the sentiments/a bit of pattern from Holiday Foundations.

I stamped the elements on a piece of MME paper, trimmed and die cut using Notebook Edge Die-Namics.

I’m glad you stopped by today! From here, you should hop on over to Jen’s blog! Have fun hopping along and good luck with prizes 🙂
Don’t forget that O Christmas Tree is your October Gift w/ $50 purchase in the TCM Store!!

CASE Study Challenge #114

We’re rolling in with a new challenge at CASE Study! I’m truly enjoying this month… the work of Julia Stainton (our October Muse) is really helping me stretch myself. I don’t know whether it’s only this or there are further transformations happening to my style, but my latest CS cards are something I like to look at 🙂
Anyway, let’s ‘meet’ the inspiration for this week!

So much texture!! If you know me, you also know I love texture more than anything else. Well, maybe except colour…
I usually restrict myself to one-two elements that elevate the design but I wanted to go hardcore this time and use all the goodies Julia used: corrugated cardboard, felt, crocheted lace. I took it even further, by adding splotches of ink, something that I admit to being slightly crazy about these days 🙂

I used dies from Memory Box (Perched Reed Bird) and Spellbinders (branch from Cherry Blossoms).
The sentiment sticker is Cosmo Cricket’s and the ink comes from October Afternoon Sidewalks line. The beauty of that shade of aqua makes me mellow.
