A special WMS DT Blog Waltz

Don’t miss my CASE Study post too! Feel free to scroll down to see it, thank you 🙂

Today is a big day in the ‘Waltzingmouse house’! We’re hosting a special Blog Waltz, featuring our favourites among the WMS stamp sets, and also welcoming new members to the Team - the previous Mischief Makers. So happy to be joining the event as one of the newly fledged Teamies 🙂

You will easily notice, that I have tremendous trouble naming just a single set as my favourite. I admit that I used four different sets on my project, but two of them play a crucial role and these I’m quite hooked on these days: Vintage Garden - Seed Packet and Camellia.
I made a sweet little ‘thank you’ gift set, with a decorative name plate, plus a matching tag & card.

I pulled out my Cameo and made extensive use of the cutting files, for both Camellia flowers/leaves and the seed packet elements. Claire generously provides them in the store, HERE and HERE respectively.
The little bits of text paper, used behind the window on the name plate and on the card, is a Kaisercraft DP. The blooms were coloured with Copic markers.

The mossy green cardstock is an older SU! colour, I can’t remember the name… True Thyme, perhaps??
I did most of the stamping with Versafine Onyx Black, but used Memento on this particular tag below, because I didn’t want the Copics I coloured with, to smear.

The other two sets featured on the card, are French Country and Heirloom Patterns, that I’ve got the diamond and lace borders from. Both stamped in Memento London Fog. A length of grosgrain ribbon and a paper doily, finish the card.

I hope this little ensemble strikes your fancy, it was great fun to make!
If you haven’t yet done so, get ready for heaps more inspiration along the way, as you make your way through the whole list of the Design Team’s blogs! I can’t wait to see for myself, what their favourites are and what magic they cooked up with them 🙂

Iwona a Palamountain You’re here!

and of course, don’t miss Claire’s creation on her own blog too 🙂 Happy waltzing!

CASE Study Challenge #130

Sadly we’re nearing the end of the month at CASE Study, and it means the last challenge with Teri Anderson… how can have enough of her terrific work??
I hope you’ll all scrape off some time to give Teri the best farewell response, plus it’s a good opportunity to CASE one of her works, guilt-free. BUT that’s how we roll, so it goes without saying, yes? 🙂
Here’s the piece for this time around. A scrappy genius!

It was settled from the beginning, that I’m going for a “pile it on and see where it takes me” look as well 🙂

Also, I opted for a toned down background with a few splashes of bold colour and an overall eclectic feel. I used almost exclusively Glitz Design product, with two small, decorative chippies from Cosmo Cricket.

I took the opportunity to use one of my favourite past Retro Sketches (rs#45 below), since their current challenge is a “pick your own”. Fun 🙂

Hmm?

Bad mojo day. Bad photography day too. Been looking down at the stuff on my desk absent-minded and not quite sure what to do with them. Determination took me to the number you can see below, but I’ll let you be the judge. I pass 🙂

Stamps from The Craft’s Meow (Happiness Is) and PTI (Big & Bold Wishes). Memento inks. PTI texture plate. October Afternoon Sprinkler.

Inspiration, Muse Challenge #6 and FTL229 sketch, that I turned on the side. Can you see it?

TTYL!

Old gold

Just a quick post today… I’ve been BUSY over the weekend making myself comfortable in a new craft space, which I’m hoping to share the photos of with all of you lovely peeps soon 🙂
I had a quick ‘good job reward’ inky session tonight, and an affair with Tuesday Trigger: Set the Table.
Totally lovely piece of inspiration, but not quite as easy as I initially thought.

I’m digging the culinary theme and I’ve been meaning to get a nice, vintage stamp featuring knife & fork (especially fitting since I’d love to make a few custom cook books), but it’s not happened as of yet and thus I went with the colours and an old world feel only.

I layered a piece of Teresa Collins paper on kraft cardstock (digging all of the new TC collections!!), stamped with PTI Damask Designs stamp and Memento Rich Cocoa ink (twice and inking partially), and did some layering on top of it. I used gold ribbon, paper doily spritzed with Marigold Glimmer Mist, burlap cut with Spellbinders Circles, label cut with WPlus9 die and stamped with Always & Forever stamps, Chloe Stem die cut and some flowers.

Hope you like it! xx

Jay Gee’s Nook - Double the surprise!

Hulloooo! I hope your weekend is just fine, and if you’re just starting it - enjoy! Ours is madness… antenatal visit, shopping, IKEA trip and arranging my new craft room (don’t mind that part, lol!). I’m going to look like a zombie by the nd of it I’m sure, but hopefully a very happy one 🙂

It’s time for a new creation for Jay Gee’s Nook blog, and today I’m sharing a sweet little “just because” gift for a friend.
It started with a glassine bag, decorated with Teresa Collins Memories paper & a journaling tag (different line) , Kaisercraft blooms, twill ribbon, October Afternoon tin pin & a die cut label (Spellbinders Labels Five die).

The sentiment comes from My Favorite Things Just My Type die & stamp set, which I used more extensively on the matching tag, that you can find inside the bag.
More Teresa Collins paper here, some washi tape, a little die cut star from MME, Ocean baker’s twine… the typewriter die cut from SU! cardstock and stamped with Hero Arts Soft Granite ink.

The hearts come from a different stamp set.
Hop on over to the Jay Gee’s Nook blog for continuous inspiration from the Team, product reviews and more! Glad you stopped by today 🙂

10 Minute Craft Dash #12, the time breaker!

I’m taking part in special Birthday Blog Hop right now, I’d be delighted if you checked out that post as well!!
Click HERE or scroll down to access it. Thank you 🙂

I might have fallen under the spell of Paulina’s 10 Minute Craft Dash challenges. It’s my third time around and so far most fun filled. It’s the craziest thing, trying to fit under such ridiculously small time with something worth showing, and it took me a long time to convince myself to join the first time. Perhaps it’s because this is such a different task to what we’re given a challenge; while the others are usually a no-stress and all-fun experience, this one is giving me the adrenaline rush uncommon in my crafty dealings. And it feels good, baby!

Anyhoo… I assembled all my supplies, along with a pre-scored card, as per usual. True to my nature, I decided to combine stamps from three different manufacturers. I’m such a rebel… lol
Going for a one layer is the safest option when tight on time, I don’t fully trust myself on swishing the craft knife around in haste.
Simple stamping, only carefully arranged (well, as careful one can be with the clock ticking away).

The stamps are from PTI (Polka Dot Basics), Penny Black (Breezy - the fern & Winter Berries - woodblock), Simon Says Stamp (You, sentiment).

Now, for the fun part… here’s my time! Might I add, once I discovered that I’m well ahead, I even fit putting most of my supplies away in this time. Pretty darn happy 🙂

Hope it tickles 🙂
