WMS June Release Day Blog Hop

I hope you enjoyed the sneak peeks of the new Waltzingmouse Stamps goodies, and you’re ready for the full reveal! Hopefully you arrived here from Anya’s blog; you can also join us anytime by starting at Claire’s blog.

I wish I could stay here for longer and have a ‘chat’ with you guys, but in the last couple of days I’ve been full-on and I can’t wait to finally kick off the heels (not that I’d attempt wearing ones, especially now…) and have a nice, relaxing evening. In case of any questions, you know where to find me 🙂
(always best to leave a comment and you’ll be notified via email when I respond)
First card features the awesome Funky Feathers, which I stamped on patterned paper and combined with lots of die cuts and whatnot, for an eclectic look. I sponged some light yellow ink behind the feathers, plus added some stamped hearts, creating a nice bokeh effect. The sentiment from the same set, was stamped on a tag die cut.

For the next card, also mixy & matchy in style, I inked up the polka dot cherry from the Big Berry - Cherries set, and created a background with it. I wanted to experiment with a careless / artsy look so I tapped the ink pad only lightly, and didn’t press much against the paper. The result is quite cool, the imperfections actually added a fake dimension to the circles and made them look like balls 🙂
I selectively inked the sentiment from You’re A Doll Additions, cut out into strips and paired with the die cut word.

Finally, I’ve got this cutie-patootie set of stationery-inspired cards, featuring the You’re A Doll & YAD Additions sets, along with a few patterns from the older Nordic Winter.

Here’s my inspiration - I love these so much that I wanted to recreate the whole look 🙂

Next stop in the waltz is Edna! Thanks for visiting me today, enjoy the inspiration - and happy shopping afterwards! 🙂

WMS June Release Previews - Day 3

We’re rolling in with the last day of Waltzingmouse Stamps June Release previews, and the stamp sets that we share today are Country Labels 14 and Big Berry - Cherries. Here are the cherries in action. I stamped them using a variety of inks, trying to get a depth on the fruit and leaf. Then I applied some Glossy Accents to the cherries, as you can see on the photo above.

I featured the Country Labels 14 set, on my second card. It’s a one layer! I debossed the Spellbinders Labels 14 and stamped inside it, and decorated the corners of the card, with the stamps from the Folk Art Medallion and Folk Art Labels No. 25.

I’m playing with a couple of challenges today - cQc#195 for the label card, and CTS#34 for the cherry card.

WMS June Release Previews - Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of Waltzingmouse Stamps June Release previews!
A total of six new stamps is what’s on the plate today, talk about fabulous! I’m having my share with two of them, Funky Feathers and Crackle Background. The latter is being nurtured at length this month, so to speak… apart from the full-sized outlined version as shown below, the release offers a matching reverse and two mini versions as well.
I white embossed my crackles and sponged with an assortment of Versa Color inks, creating a blue-green gradient. I stamped and cut out the feathers from Funky Feathers and arranged them behind the banner with the sentiment from Rescue Remedies Additions stamped in white.

I love the Funky Feathers set, it offers three different styles of them, from realistic to stylized, which is something that you don’t see often included in a single set. Plus, Claire went wild with feathers in this release and so there is one more set up her sleeve this month, called Fine Feathers. Just wait until you see that one too! I need to have it, stat.
One more card for you, this time with the adorable peacock feathers from the set. I stamped them with Memento markers, scribbling different colours on the stamps and trying to create a reasonably smooth transition of colour. I coloured the centers with a turquoise Copic marker and stamped the dot over it, with a Memento marker. Then I applied some glossy accents on it, which you will see better on the last photo below.
The patterned papers made it on the card from my scrap basket, they’re from MME and OA I believe, but I don’t remember which collections.

WMS June Release Previews - Day 1

After a month’s break, I’m super happy to join in the Waltzingmouse Stamps June Release! The new stamp sets are truly amazing, so let’s get started!!
Today we’re featuring two coordinating sets, a full-sized You’re A Doll and a mini caled You’re A Doll Additions. These are hands down my absolute favourites, not only of this release but of all of Waltzingmouse. Matryoshkas, nesting dolls, however you call them, that’s what these puppies are about and you know what a sucker I am for anything folksy!
I love matryoshkas so much and would gladly collect them, but they’re not so easy to find. I have one set that I brought from Lithuania and I’m hoping that it’s a start of one day a size-able collection 🙂

For the first card above, I took the already ‘assembled’ doll and coloured it in with Copic markers. I added some flowers that come with the larger set, stamped in various colour inks and layered them for a bit of yummy dimension.
I inked up the three mid-sized dolls, for the second card. I love the middle doll especially, it couldn’t be truer to the folk style if it tried. I believe it has a traditional Russian head dressing on 🙂 And how about that sentiment?? TOO cute!

CASE Study Challenge #147

Sadly it’s another farewell week at the CASE Study challenge blog, I really despise doing so to our Muses… it might have something to do with the fact that they are all my personal favourites, huh?? *wink* However, there’s still a week of fun ahead, which means another fabulous inspiration card from Lisa Spangler - I hope to see you playing too. Yes, YOU! 🙂

I ADORE the marbled, cheerful look and created my own, minimal version with Waltzingmouse heart stamps and some Memento inks. I basically applied the inks to the stamp, letting them overlap and mix a little, they seem to do so very well.

Check out the blogs below, for the Design Team girls’ unique takes on the challenge, or visit CASE Study to see it all happening in one place.

June 2013 Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

Hi there! I found a minute to join the June PTI Blog Hop, with the gorgeous inspiration board below and a theme of GOLD. I don’t do gold often but it’s fun to get out of the rut! I’m channeling my inner Taheerah 🙂

I embossed the sentiment from Harvest Berries, with Jeweled Gold powder from Stampendous. After I debossed the frame where I wanted it to appear, that is 🙂 The foliage was also wet embossed, this time with Zing powder in Leaf. Delicious stuff, definitely need more of these 🙂
I scattered some rhinestones in place of berries, tied a sparkly gold ribbon around the Smoky Shadow card base and popped up the panel. Love this card 🙂

Hope you like, thanks for stopping by 🙂
