Let’s Copic! Teacher’s Pet Tia

I’m excited to bring you another Copic tutorial today, and as you could see from the sneak peek on the FB page, it’s a Some Odd Girl image! Doubly excited because I haven’t coloured one of these sweeties in way too long, and (some of you might remember that) I LURVVVEEEEE them. I must admit that I’m very picky when it comes to the stamps for colouring, but there’s something about these gorgeous wide-eyed girls that makes me want to gobble them up. I picked Teacher’s Pet Tia, not because I’m in need of a school-themed card but because her hair looked fun to colour. Let’s admit it, even though it’s often a challenge, colouring hair IS so much fun :)

Enjoy :)

CASE Study Challenge #150

I’ve gone all retro for this week’s CASE Study! We continue with the inspiration from Jocelyn Olson and the card I chose is one of the most recognizable pieces of hers that will surely be a hit. I literally can. not. wait. to see what everyone’s up to with this one :)

I still haven’t tackled anything digital, as I promised myself to do especially for this occasion, I’m simply running out of time and often I’m too tired to gather courage to try something new.Anyway, good ole’ stamping is always a good enough choice and for my retro styling-inspired card I did just this. I stamped the backgrounder from Penny Black (Allover Pattern) in dark brown and gave it life by filling in with Copic markers. The colours I used are: R35, R32, BG11, BG15, Y35, E57. The sentiment from Mama Elephant (Smitten), stamped on MFT Bracket Tab die, finishes off the card.

Defined watercolours

Well, I haven’t learnt from last night, and I’m having another late night crafting. That, plus a very challenging day, add up to a very tired Chupa. However, with CASE Study coming tomorrow, I really want to blog this little number before it gets too crowded here :) Let’s get cracking!
I rarely ever play with Make It Mondays, but this week’s challenge is yummy-licious and I wanted to give this technique a go anyway. Gotta love the watercolour look! Actually, as much as spritzing the inked stamp with water is a common enough technique, applying paints with an aqua pen was something new to me that immediately clicked. Why haven’t I thought of this before?? It’s SO convenient it’s ridiculous, lol.

I used light green paint on the broad leaves from Turning A New Leaf, and dark green on the fine leaves & the ferns from Harvest Berries. Then I inked up the latter with Simply Chartreuse which I over-stamped the images with, for a nice contrasting, two-tone look. For the broad leaves, I used Classic Kraft ink for my second step, and only swiped the ink along the edges.
Then I added the sentiment panel and the fun polka dot butterfly. I really dug out some oldies for this challenge, didn’t I?? :)

Sketch fest

Hi there! Excuse the quick post - it’s been a couple of days since I shared something and I was itching to stamp, so I indulged in a crafty evening. Time will tell if it was a good decision, I’m pooped and tomorrow will have an early start… all the things we do to satisfy our hobby! :)
There are a few lovely sketches on the block this week, I decided to give two of them a go - CAS(E) This Sketch #36 and retrosketches #72.

Oh, and looks like I had too much fun embossing with my dies, too :)
(The bird stamp is by Red Lead Paperworks, but appears to be discontinued)
