Big news, everyone!

It’s my THIRD post for the day… I’m not a fan of when it happens but sometimes it can’t be helped - I can only hope that you’ll enjoy the bigger than normal dose of inspiration :)
Back to the schedule. I announced earlier today in the Waltzingmouse post, that I’m sadly leaving their ranks. I’m going to miss them *sniff*. However, something cool is on the horizon that’s been secretly brewing behind the scenes… are you curious yet??

As of today, I’m joining StampNation as a Design Team member.

StampNation is an online paper-crafting community teeming with life, complete with forums, gallery, challenges and tons of tutorials at your fingertips. It has more than 1000 members and a strong sense of sisterhood - they surely make you feel right at home :)

So what does it bring you, eh? If you join the forum, you’ll not only gain exclusive access to the available tutorials and much more, but I am also starting my very own “Technically Speaking” forum in The Classroom on StampNation, which I’ll be delivering content to on a fortnightly basis. I will also be participating in challenges at SN as a DT member.

But that’s not all yet! I’m a contributor for the Online Classes, another brain-child of the SN founder, starting with the one already released! I joined Catherine Pooler and Maureen Merritt (yes! my CASE Study Teamie) as a teacher and I’ve written two exclusive tutorials teaching you how to make two cards and tag in the Very Trendy Holiday style :)

Here’s a peek into what’s waiting there for you:

Catherine, the brainz behind it all, created this short video to promote the event. I don’t even know what to say about it exactly… lol, it’s hilarious! Catherine is a nutcase (although by all positive means) but her speech still leaves me slightly dumbfounded and very humbled. I mean… how did all of that happen??

I would love it if you to embarked on this journey with me, and either signed up with StampNation or took the class… or both! See you there, and make sure you let me know what you think! xx

A Waltzingmouse Christmas - decor

Welcome to the special, four day event at Waltzingmouse Stamps, called A Waltzingmouse Christmas! It’s the last day today, and we’re sharing decor items made with WMS stamps. I’m sad to add that it’s also my last day on the Waltzingmouse Design Team :( As my girls grow bigger, I find myself wanting to spend more time with them, without having have to worry about the deadlines. I also embarked on a new exciting journey (details to follow later today, please tune up to my blog at 1 pm EST!) and something else unfortunately has to give.

I’m sharing today a shadow box frame, made with two gorgeous sets, Christmas Cottage and Nordic Winter. I absolutely adore both. The house is like taken straight from a Russian folk tale (which I *love*), and the style of the latter is right up my alley, which is not news for you if you know me a bit :) I coloured the house with Copics, dressed up with lots of glitter and a glitter ‘snowfall’, and added stamped borders with various Memento Luxe inks. The music sheet paper in the back, is from Simple Stories. The alpha stickers are October Afternoon‘s Mini Market in Black & Cream. I couldn’t find anywhere I could link them to.

Here are the markers I used - the two Ciaos areR37 & W3.

Here’s the list of all ladies participating in today’s festivities:

Jeanne Jachna /Jennifer Holmes / Julia Aston / Kelly Schirmer / Kim Duran / Laurie Schmidlin / Renee Lynch / Tosha Leyendekker / Claire Brennan / Lynn Mercurio / Teresa Kline / Edna Morrisedie / Anya Schrier / Becca Feeken / Jen Cuthbertson / Karin Akesdotter / Sandie Dunne

CASE Study Challenge #167

Hello and welcome to another CASE Study challenge! Here’s what on schedule this week, another Keisha Campbell own and again such a masterpiece!

Keisha does clusters like it’s nobody’s business, and that’s what I was trying to convey on my sample card. I opted for a different colour palette (she’s usually a neutral kind of gal, while I like to experiment with colours). I especially like the look of the wood veneer heart with teal cardstock backing. I’m glad I thought it up. What do you think?

Check out the blogs below for the Design Team’s takes on the challenge, or visit CASE Study for the full reveal.

A Waltzingmouse Christmas - tags

Welcome to the special, four day event at Waltzingmouse Stamps, called A Waltzingmouse Christmas! Today we roll in with TAGS! You can have a proper Christmas without these!

It’s kinda lame but I ended up using the same stamp set that I did yesterday, Compliments of the Season. Figures I really love it, I know it well enough, but still my sincere intentions were to focus on something else today. Once I had an idea for a tag, I just could not find a better sentiment, though. One that would make a statement.
I took inspiration from the super lovely tags, pinned HERE to my Pinterest board, full credit for the idea goes to the designer of those beauties. I used a Spellbinders snowflake die to cut the shapes (I cut double and adhered the snowflakes back to back), and then a regular circle for the insert. I then distressed the edges generously with Old Paper ink.

A Waltzingmouse Christmas - cards

Welcome to the special, four day event at Waltzingmouse Stamps, called A Waltzingmouse Christmas! We’re right in the festive mood and eager to show you some yumminess made with old and new stamps and brand new dies too! Today the Design Team got together to share some cards, made with their favourite WMS sets. Are you ready??

I reached for my favourites, the Bright Season lantern and the sentiment from Compliments of the Season, both with their timeless elegance and old world charm. It’s also for the first time that I tried the ever-so-trendy chalkboard technique. I’ve been reluctant as an OCD in me has trouble accepting the slightly messy look, but it’s a fun stuff indeed and a great effect to boot!

I embossed the elements in white first, then added the candle in teal and the flame / aura in sparkly gold. I never mixed embossing powders before, but I’ll certainly revisit this technique again after today’s experiment. Great fun!

The nudge I needed to try this look, lies in the Muse Challenge #44, with the beautiful card by Marion. Thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow!

Countdown to Christmas with Penny Black, week #6

Hello!! Thank you for bearing with me over the last couple of days; I didn’t have such long absence in plans but life happens, hey? It’s time to kick off another post in my Countdown to Christmas with Penny Black series, and we’re up to week #6, people! Oh. My Gosh. I literally have nothing done towards the Holidays yet and it makes me feel more than as little uneasy. BUT, I do have a card, and that’s what you’re here for anyway, so let’s get down to it.

Countdown to Christmas
My aim is to share a new Christmas card made with Penny Black stamps each week. Brace yourselves, the stamp that I’m featuring today is cuteness personified - Little Elf Kit. As if she (he) wasn’t adorable enough, I added some freckles to the face and made the star super glitzy with some glitter glue. Such a fun card!

The background is created by applying embossing paste over stencil. The sentiment is another Penny Black own, Yuletide Greetings. Here are the Copic markers that I used to colour the image:
clothes: R29, R27, R24, W5, W2, W0
hair: E44
skin: E00, E02, E04
star: Y11, Y15

I used the FTL267 sketch below:

See you later, peeps :)
