It’s time to share more of my card favourites of 2012! See the part #1 here. Stay tuned for a special post (and giveaway!) coming up at midnight EST.

July. I suspect this may be one of (if not the most) pinned card of mine this year. While I didn’t suspect it to be so popular, I’m quite fond of that puffy flutterby and the chunky background.

August. Another installment of my Design Infused series, and the one I’m most happy with so far. MUST. DO. ANOTHER POST. SOON.

September. It so happens that rarely ever I would put a butterfly on a card and be unsatisfied with it. I swear they work like a charm on my crafting 🙂

October. This gorgeous, ethereal poinsettia. Sigh. I totally kept this card for myself 🙂

November. I was debating whether I should choose the card below or this one instead, but the casual charm and a sort of a dreamy state that this card puts me in, won me over. I made it for the birth of a dear friend’s baby and put a lot of heart into it.

December. Not sure what to call this one-layer. Modern vintage? Retro whimsy? I certainly do love how I was able to achieve a clean & look with such ornate stamps.

See you again in the New Year! (well, it’s been true for me for about half an hour already!) Hope 2013 treated you well & I wish you all the very best in 2014!!

2013 card favourites, part one

Hi there! I know I wrote in my previous post that I may not make an appearance before the new year kicks in, but I forgot at that time that I’ve been wanting to list my card favourites of 2012. I had a really good fun revisiting my work last time. Here are my favourite creations of the (soon to end) year, hope you enjoy!

January is when I made this little card, in under 10 minutes. Copics, paint splatters and all. Loved the result, I should really challenge myself more often, to make more time-restricted cards 🙂

February. Another Craft Dash card, but this time I made it in under 6 minutes! Never before or after I made a card this quickly, and did I mention that I’m pretty ga-ga over that look as well?

Also, this one. I love the layout, the eclectic mix of elements and most of all, how great all of those seemingly clashing, different shades of blue (aqua, navy, midnight blue, teal, robin’s egg) look paired with coral.

March. Love the fresh look, fun layout, and the Lovely Layers stamp set pretty much rocks my world. Too bad I’m often too lazy to think up a design for it :/

…also, I love the daring colour combo and mix of patterns here. And of course, my stamp set crush, The Sweet Life.

April. I selected several cards from this month. Like this one, with a lovely collage of elements…

… this cutie with an eye-popping colour duo:

…and this card that perhaps wasn’t hugely popular, but I love how it turned out 🙂

May. I love embossing with dies, such a fun technique. This is one of my first (and very CAS!) attempts, which I adore.

And finally, June and again a few selections on offer. The first one reminded me how much I love having black for the card base and how I should be doing it more often.

Also, the first from my Design Infused series. Being inspired by a piece of awesomeness is one of the best parts of card making, in fact most of my stuff evolves around that very principle. I miss this series, I haven’t done it in a while but I’m looking forward to tackling a new post soon 🙂

Although I tend to dabble in a broad range of styles, I think the one below, a sort of a semi-organized collage, is the closest to my heart. I can’t always pull it off nicely but when I do, it’s the best feeling ever. The card below, makes me happy 🙂

And the last card today, yet another attempt at embossing with dies. Rounds it up nicely to three cards featuring this technique. Shows just how I dig it, eh? I also dig PTI’s Aqua Mist cardstock and along with Soft Stone, it’s safe to say that these two rocked about half of my cards this year 🙂

That’s all for today, tune up for the follow-up tomorrow!

Exercising a rusty mojo

I’ve been spending some much needed quality time with the family (now enlarged by a super adorable kitty! yay!) and I’m loving every minute. Frankly, between everything that being a SAHM to two littles and an active crafter entails, there’s been precious little time for me to truly relax. I forgot how sweet it is to just hang out with the fam for most of the day, not looking at the clock constantly, worrying about stuff that needs to be done. I’ll need to start thinking about that ‘stuff’ again pretty soon now, but I’m taking another day off before it happens 🙂
I’d pop in my craft room every now and then, for a bit of an inky time but I’m finding it quite hard to get back on track. I half-forced myself to make some super last-minute Christmas cards (which I tried to keep in a general Winter Holidays spirit, rather than Christmas), because I received a very late order from SSS, right before the Holidays, of some long-awaited WPlus9 stamps and dies that I just couldn’t justify having put down for a year.
I’m talking about Woodland Wreaths (sadly the dies were out of stock everywhere I looked), Heartfelt Holiday, Silver Bells (with coordinating dies) and Under The Mistletoe dies. I wanted to show you guys, the cards I whipped up, but I don’t want to spend any more precious time fiddling on the computer, so I hope you don’t mind me skipping up the supply lists.

Some Copic colouring on this first one.

Patterned papers from the Penny Black Madison pad, Glossy Accents on the stamped and die cut bells.

A dash of patterned paper, from Basic Grey Fact pad.

Collage style, almost like a little scrapbook. I combined some leftover DP, washi tape, some stickers, twine, flair, sequins…

Lastly, almost a one-layer if it wasn’t for a patterned paper mat (Pink Paislee Portfolio, Stupendous 12×12 paper). Stamping directly on DP, plus a bit of stitching.

Thanks for stopping by, I’ll have a post up on the 1st for sure but I’ll try to pop in once more before. Be sweet! xx

CASE Study Challenge #172

Boxing Day greetings, friends! The last CASE Study challenge of 2013 has just started, with Cath from the Moxie Fab World is our Muse and the inspiration for today’s challenge (to be found originally here) is as follows:

It’s one of my personal favourites among Cath’s “Oh My Moxie Fab” posts, because of the folk style of these cookies, florals and doilies. All the goodness of the world, enclosed in those cuties 🙂 I paired a white embossed Hero Arts Heart Lace stamp, with some mulberry roses, a resin flower, and die cut WPlus9 branches (Under the Mistletoe) that coordinate with a Christmas stamp set but look so much like herb sprigs on their own. I picture myself using them for everything, all year long 🙂

Check out the blogs below for the Design Team’s takes on the challenge, or visit CASE Study to see it all in all place. Some of the DT girls have taken a Christmas break but there’s still lots of inspiration to be had.
