Sketchbook Saturday Challenge #66

Hello, hello again! It’s been a fun day, and it couldn’t end sweeter than with a move night (check!) and a little crafty time afterwards (commencing soon!). I made my sketch card this morning, before heading off to see the relies, and now I’m happy to share!

This sketch was inspired by a piece of stationery, that I found on Pinterest a little while ago. It’s a beautiful notebook that you can find HERE at the original source. I find myself drawn more and more to clean, graphic designs.

What I loved about it is the symmetrical design with the horizontal divider in the middle. I immediately saw an intricate floral stamp in action 🙂 I wanted to give my card the same folksy yet clean look.

The floral stamp is Flamboyant from Penny Black, I gave it its first inking today! I embossed it with Cayenne EP from Sparkle & Sprinkle on PTI Spring Moss cardstock.
The sentiment is from The Craft’s Meow set called Sew Happy, and I stamped it in Memento Love Letter on peach cardstock. I think an unexpected pop of additional colour adds pizzazz, as well as the fact that the cardstock is textured; yet I would look at the card at times and wish I used only white for the sentiment strip. What do you think?

This card goes into the Stamp It! Cards Birthday Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

A few things to keep in mind if you decide to use my sketch:

- You’re kindly asked to save the image onto your computer first, and if you make a card based on it, please link back to this post.
- If you upload your card to an online gallery, use the code SSC66.
- Feel free to share the link to your creation via the Inlinkz widget, so that I can come and check it out!
- The colours/elements mean nothing towards the card. All styles, colours and supplies, as well as slight alterations of the sketch are welcome.
- A new sketch and sample is posted every Saturday, but you’re welcome to play any time! Just leave a link in the comments section after Inlinkz widget closes.

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 104

Hi there lovelies, happy weekend! Saturday brings a new Waltzingmouse sketch for us all to enjoy, and this time we’ve got this lovely layout designed by Teresa:

I pulled out the Back In The Saddle stamp set, and whipped up this masculine number below…

The papers are from My Mind’s Eye Miss Caroline collection. I also used a Melissa Frances die cut, onto which I stamped the sentiment, and PTI/Die-Namics dies. Lots of string here too, the bottom one I arranged into a lasso-like bundle. I hope it shows 🙂

Hop over to the Waltzingmouse Sketch blog, to see more from the Mischief Makers and play along! Cheers,

Sweet dreams

Hello again! I’ve had a couple of new posts recently, please check them out below as well 🙂

I wanted to pay homage to a sketch challenge close to my heart, which is sadly closing its doors this week. I’ve been on the Card Patterns Design Team (for what seems like ages ago!) and always enjoyed their sketches. I’m going to miss them greatly, but at the same time I’m happy for Michelle Bertuzzi, one of the founders of CP, who recently had a baby! Family should always come first, something that I know now more than ever 🙂

I made this card, with their last sketch:

I used some Basic Grey What’s Up papers and die cuts, the lovely Mimi stamp from Penny Black (Sweet Dreams), PTI sentiment from Mega Mixed Messages, Star Circles Nestabilities®, and some buttons. I coloured the cutie with Copics.

I combined the sketch with the colours from The Color Throwdown, which seemed perfect for the theme in mind:

See you again very shortly, there’s still one post to go tonight… my very last creations for Glitz Design!
I’m trying not to cram posts so much these days, so I’m sorry for spamming your Blog Reader… 😉

CASE Study Challenge #97

Sad as it always is, we’re unfortunately having our last challenge with June Muse at CASE Study this week. It’s been the talented Joy Taylor who gracefully provided us with inspiration this month, and I must say that I had so much fun!
I’m always hoping that our Muses enjoyed their experience as well, I know that CASE’ing oneself might not be the easiest task… but as a founder of CASE Study I can honestly say that I loved every week and I’m looking forward to many more!
Speaking of which… our 2nd Anniversary is drawing near. Yes siree!

The inspiration above from Joy is our focus for this week. I chose that card because of how cheerful it is, and the out of the box design with the masking tape that I adore but don’t use hardly enough! Call it another personal challenge of mine… pull out those tapes, girl!

And so I did… the hello and alphabet tapes are from Cosmo Cricket, not sure about
the polka dot one. I paired them with Hero Arts typewriter woodblock stamp (Vintage), and the sentiments from Papertrey Ink (Mega Mixed Messages) and There She Goes (Sentimental Birthday - I inked only a part of the stamp). I also decorated the typewriter with Kaisercraft resin bloom.

I’ve got two shades of pink on this card, the rosy one on tapes and fuchsia on the stamped images, but I’m hoping that it still allows me to enter this card into these:

I’m also entering it into the Stamp It! Cards Thank You Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

The Design Team prepared some beautiful samples today as well, click on any of the links to be taken to their blogs:

Joy Taylor (June Muse)
Amy Wanford (sitting out this week)
Christina MacLaren
Clare Buswell
Debby Hughes
Jean Martin
Maureen Plut
Teneale Williams (sitting out this week)
Teresa Kline

Then hop over to the CASE Study blog, where you’ll find the challenge details and a link list to share your creation! Thanks for popping by,

May / June ACSP publications

Ugh… here comes one of these severely overdue publication posts… double the shame as the first one I haven’t shared yet, May issue Australian Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft, made me a cover girl again!

Here’s the culprit… the butterfly card at the top is mine. Woo hoo!

This card belongs to a set of three, and if you have this issue, you can find them on the page 80.

All stamps are from Hero Arts, except from the small butterfly and the polka dots, which are from Papertrey Ink. You can’t see the latter very well on this photo, they were stamped in pale aqua over the flutterbies. You can see what I’m talking about on the photo of one of the cards below, that I took before sending them out.

I just realized that this photo was taken at the old house… yikes! Seems like a long time ago now. I do miss the fabulous light settings I had there, though 🙂

Okay, moving on… There are three more cards of mine in that issue; the one below is a part of the “10 Stamped Backgrounds” feature, and you can find it on page 26. I used three different sets from Papertrey Ink to create this number.

Here’s a “studio shot” of the card above:

Lastly, within a Stamper’s Challenge we were tackling the Inkadinkado Fancy That stamp set, and my two cards submitted are on pages 51 - 52.

I must admit to have had a rather hard time with these stamps, none the less you know that I’m always up for a challenge 🙂

Now comes the latest, June issue of ACSP, where I have a card as well!

It’s a part of the “Monochromatic Cards” feature within, and I was given the task to tackle deep blues.

I used some yummy stamps from The Craft’s Meow (Tweet Of You). You can find this card on page 67.

That’s it for now, folks… I hope you enjoyed them 🙂 Stop by soon, for the new CASE Study post!
