Hi there! Missed me much? Just kidding, I know I wasn’t gone for too long
I’ve been in a creative stupor for the last two days, therefore nothing much happening craft-wise except from maybe some mindless fiddling with the blog. I thought I’d use brute force and try to squeeze out any mojo at all, being a believer in the fact that the more you use it, the easier it’s to be unearthed the next time. Well, maybe it’s not always the case… *wink*
Another one of my ‘fresh’ PTI stamp sets was a perfect starting point, and with the help of a couple of challenges, I managed something decent enough
So, Lovely Layers is what’s on offer today. I’ve been seeing way too many pretties made with these stamps, not to use the first opportunity to get them in my own hands.
(for those of you who think “well, what’s the big deal, then?”, let me remind you that PTI has utterly ridiculous international postage costs and it makes it virtually impossible to order from them. Unless of course, I rely on friends’ kindness who can ship them to me in a slightly cheaper way. It’s still pretty expensive though, so ordering once-twice a year is as good as it gets…)
Anyhoo! They stamp beautifully so I’m a happy chicken I used a graph patterned paper from Teresa Collins for the background, and cut the opening in both PTI die & PP to reveal the Ocean Tides cardstock underneath. The layers on the flower add some delightful dimension.
Here are the challenges that I helped myself to today… (plus the Emphasize the Negative Challenge in the Moxie Fab World)
I took some photos of the craft room today, so methinks the long promised craft room tour is going to commence soon. Until then (or until whatever comes first, my scheduling is all over the place these days!), crafty friends!

Lovely card Chupa! This is one of my favourite stamp set at the moment, I have made so many cards with different variations of stamping and diecuts with Lovely Layers. I saved up a big order and shared with a fellow blog friend before we placed an order and ended up only splitting AUD$20 on freight. So it was well worth it! Now saving up for the next big order….
Ha ha ha!!!! You so made me laugh. I suffer the same with the PTI international postage but grit my teeth and do it anyway. I used to live out in the wilds of France and never got caught by the customs charges. Now living outside Paris, the dreaded douane have caught up with me. Last time the import taxes cost me almost one third the price of my order. How painful is that!!!! So, like you all my PTI orders are precious. I also have this Lovely Layers set. I make each of my orders last as long as possible, pulling out one set at a time and working just with that, until I get to look into my box and find out what other treasures I have there!!!! Anyway, I love what you did with this set and can’t wait to see what else you bought. So far, both the sets I have seen on your blog were in my last order too!!!
Hi Kate!! How cool to hear from another struggling person! Lol, perhaps it would be even better if we had a chat about how awesome int. postage is, but at least we can have a good laugh over it
You know, I hate this set. But you are making me love it! Stop it! This card is so awesome - I love the subtle grid paper and so clever of you to cut out the middle of the Tag Sale die so that it showed through to the base layer! Great design!!
And I always miss you. Hmph.
That button flair is the cherry on top! FABULOUS mix of colors.
Sorry about the intnl.shipping rates…That government she do take a bite:(
Beautiful colours and mixture of curves and straight lines - I get almost a compass feel from the flower , I think due to the grid pattern on the background - fun contrast of ideas! Thanks so much for playing along with us at CAS(E) This Sketch this week!
AWESOME!!! Love what you do with paper and stamps! The colors are gorgeous together, and the layout is pure genius!
gorgeous! love all of the layers!
Eeeek, how beautiful - this is a fabulous set! Love that the colour in the sentiment coordinates with one of the layers - wonderful designing
FANTASTIC card! thank you for joining us again at CTS ; ) I also battle with orders, the common rate is to double the retail price, so I like it when there is a sale! But PTI’s products are just out of this world, I’m like you: 1 or 2 orders per year… : (
Gorgeous card! Love the layering of this flower and the colors are fabulous for it
Thanks for playing this week at CAS(E) this Sketch!
Hey Chupa! Thanks for linking this up to the Emphasize the Negative Challenge in the Moxie Fab World! I’m so glad you joined in on all the fun!
Outstanding as always! This is such a fabulous set to use for these colors, you’ve combined them so perfectly. I love that gorgeous enamel dot right in the middle. The grid paper base is the perfect compliment to the frilly design, too. So glad you could join us for this week’s Play Date Cafe Challenge!
