Love, always

I’m not gonna lie, this card did not come easy. Or more accurately yet, the decision to sit down to it had to be partly forced, otherwise I’d surely dwell in a non-crafty hiatus for a couple more days.
The last week was so off the routine, I found myself thrown off and in a slightly nervous haze. Mum & dad first, then both excitement and a bit of anxiety while counting the days (hours?) for the bubs to come (still waiting!!), and now also Chuplet’s unexpectedly sudden, viral sickness that keeps us on our toes. Admittedly not the best inspiration for crafting…
However, you would know me well enough to suspect, that I’m not going to let it interfere with the idea of being actively crafty, too easily. Even a smallish effort, while done often enough, prevents stagnation that may steal mojo for weeks on end. Well, that’s my personal belief anyway, that I stick to it in my comfortably mad ways :)

So, what I did it is put on a good documentary on Youtube, find a piece of inspiration to have a starting point (Monday Mood Board #11, graphics below), and let my hands play while my mind wanders :)

What I love about this card, is that although it has a scrappy feel, there’s an adequate amount of stamping too, and both of these elements blend nicely. I used a whopping 6 WPlus9 stamp sets, plus one from The Craft’s Meow. Yeppers!

I went out on a limb with the wee addition of red, I guess I just can’t force myself into a completely neutral card after all… that pop of colour adds so much to the design :)

See you later, peeps :)

  1. WOW…love it!! The pop of red is fabulous!! Now…I’m behind on commenting but….loved your LO with Chuplet-mom-and dad!! Actually when I read the post…I got a titch teary-eyed. Now, my family only lives 12-14 hours away (so we do get to visit once or twice a year) nothing close to your situation but I have an inkling of how difficult that must be for you! When I first moved (5 children and I’m the only one that lives >45 minutes drive) I had phone bills running 200-300 per month- long before the unlimited long distance calling!!! Anyway…thinking of you…loving Chuplet got to spend so much time with Gma and Gpa and communicating in their language….fabulous!! Thank goodness for Skype…and dang the hormones making it worse :))

  2. All that going on and you still made an amazing card - I think you could work under any conditions! This is gorgeous - love love love all the goodies - and my goodness! That butterfly?? Crazy good girl!!

  3. Well done for crafting through your feelings of meh. This is a true stunner and beauty and I know it can’t have been easy to create such a masterpiece with so much happening. This is truly inspirational with the colours, layout, different elements… you know how I feel about your work!! Huge hugs and looking forward to hearing some good news for you very soon!! :-)

  4. Love this card. It is so beautiful.

I wish you had blog instead of a domain. Because as it is now you have to click in on every post just to see, insted of scrolling down and reading. This setup takes to mutch time. And i wanted to let you know. Because i know a lot of people think the same as i, but wont say because they are scred of being unpolite. And i dont mean to be unpolite, just honest 😉

    • Hi Lena,
Thank you for your honesty, I truly appreciate it and would never think of your comment not being polite.
It was a conscious decision that I made, setting up the posts like this. It was driven by the fact that my content, like on many other crafty blogs, is photo-heavy. Therefore reducing the number of images that load by default on the page, is a big asset for those on slower internet connections, or using mobile devices. I thought that by giving each post a snippet of a text plus an introductory image, I’m giving the viewer a good enough peek into what is in that post, and leave it to them to decide whether they’re interested in clicking to see the rest or not.
Unfortunately, pleasing everyone is rarely possible and I apologize for the inconvenience. Here’s a hint for you - if you want to see a bunch of posts fully loaded at once, you can select a month from the Archives and it will give you the full list of posts with full content displayed. Cheers!

Your comments make my day!
