It’s sketch time!! It’s also my second post for today so please take the time to check out my CASE Study 3rd Anniversary post below, if you haven’t yet done so! I’m celebrating the event with a big dose of satisfaction; CASE Study is very important to me and a lot of work has been put into making it what it is now. Endless fun too I hope you’ll join us for all THREE Blog Hops!
But, back to the schedule… the sketch! It’s such a last minute thing, this one… these past two weeks have been a killer (as whenever I think it can’t get any busier…) and I’m writing this post with two hours to spare. Good enough, hey??
I adore this sketch and I suspect it may be a favourite with many of you as well. I asked the super-awesome Laurie to help me with the sampling and I can already tell you that her card ROCKS ’cause I’ve seen it! Thank you so much for sharing this beauty, sweet girl! Here’s what I’ve done…
Yeah, I know… my butterfly overlaps the edge! (not that it’s wrong - you’re most welcome to have yours in one piece as well) It’s just that as I designed the sketch, I was especially giddy about that incomplete shape… only then as it came down to creating, I realized that I won’t be able to give my critter dimension if I were to cut half of its wing. It wouldn’t look right… so I stayed with the safe option and happily bent the wings up …then did the same to the sentiment flag, but that’s another story
My colours are loosely inspired by cQc#200:

Gorgeous card, Miss Lady!!
Such a pretty card! I would never have gotten to this from the sketch-guess I need to practice with them more!
This is beautiful, Chupa!

Thank you so much for having me Chupa! I love your sketch today! You card is amazing! The text background is so pretty and I love the butterfly. You worked out that color combo beautifully!
Beautiful sketch and card Chupa. Love the butterfly and the banner going across it. I wasn’t able to link my card up (doesn’t let me attach the card) so here is my take on your fab sketch: https://stampnmad.typepad.com/mad_stamper/2013/08/swallowtail.html
