Cure for the (Wednesday) blues

Hi there friends, just a quick post tonight. My dear friend Taheerah just started hosting challenges on her blog and I thought I’d join in the first one.

I’m not surprised that she picked such an inspiration, not only the awesome freestyle arrangement reflects her unique spirit but I’ve been seeing her pinning watercolour ideas for some time, which left me drooling on some as well. Big fan of watercolours here… and hugely happy to see this trend going so strong in paper crafts. Which in turn makes me really love the photo!

I started with a piece of Pink Paislee Color Wash Colorful paper, in which I cut some PTI clouds. Then I layered a couple of Kaisercraft die cuts (True Romance) in the bottom right corner, added a simple sentiment (Simon Says, stamped on a white card peeking out of one of the negative spaces), wood veneer hearts (Freckled Fawn) and scattered come confetti which I saved from a previous Silhouette project. I knew they’d come handy!
Tune in for the CASE Study card tomorrow, g’night!

  1. <3 Thank you so so much for entering my first challenge! You are such a sweetheart with all the kind words you wrote. :-)

This card is nothing short of spectacular - your design is free-spirited and inspiring, just like the inspiration photo - but as always you always have such a unique twist on things and take a completely individual approach to end up with something special. I *love* that patterned paper, but to turn it into a scene with negatively-cut clouds, then a bird and foliage to boot - inspired!

Thanks so much for playing along to Cure The Monday Blues!!

  2. I too love the softness of this card. The cut outs, the hearts, the pretty bird, the chevron…it is all pulled together so effortlessly. Way beyond what goes on in my head. :)

  3. What a beatuiful card Chupa - I love the negative clouds cut form the fun chevrons 😉 Defintely a cure for Wednesday blues!! Thanks for sharing this inspiration… fingers crossed I’ll have some crafty time this week to check out this challenge, Rx
