CASE Study Challenge #210

We just started the last challenge for the month at CASE Study, and not only this is your last chance to CASE our Muse Debby Hughes but also to play with us for a while. I made a difficult decision to close the doors of CASE Study for the time being, due to time restrictions. At the moment I can’t say how long the break will be or IF there will be a come back at all, but once the situation allows then I’ll be certainly looking into re-opening. It’s been a very hard decision to make indeed 🙁
CS is very special to me and I’m very proud of it. Already missing it *sniff*

This is the inspiration piece from Debby, I hope you’ll all come play with us for the last time!

I FINALLY inked up WPlus9 Pretty Peonies & Pretty Little Peonies from the latest release (with coordinating dies here and here respectively). I feel like the rest of the world had a chance to do so while me being on a DT, should have already enjoyed them in a million of ways. Oh well, better late than never they say and I’ll stick to that for the lack of better options. On a brighter note, I’m in love with those 🙂

I created the background using texture paste and Heidi Swapp Polka Dot stencil. I multi-stamped the flowers and foliage on die cuts, with WPlus9 inks and arranged on the panel with a sentiment from Fresh Cut Wreaths stamped on a double ended banner. I finished the card by adding a laser-cut frame that I scored at the craft show long ago, and a few enamel dots.

CASE Study Challenge #209

A new challenge at CASE Study just launched and we’ve got a fresh portion of inspiration from our Muse, Debby Hughes!

I don’t know about you, but I’m not tired of feathers and/or dream catchers yet. It’s like saying you’re tired of florals, which I’d never do. They’re timeless, feathers especially. They’re one of the most beautiful designs of nature. I was tempted to pull out the new WPlus9 Dream Believer stamp set for my card but seeing as I featured it on my blog not long ago and with limited posts lately, I decided that I use Small Butterfly Frame Die instead. It’s just as gorgeous… well, everything WPlus9 does. I’m smitten with everything in the new release and it pains me that I’m yet to ink so much of it… anyway!

I focused on working with neutrals just like Debby did and true to my style, I spiced up the design with pattern and texture.

As you can see, I made a shaker card. With the popularity of sequins also came the outbreak of shaker cards but I never really jumped on the bandwagon much. Frankly, making them tires me. I wish someone came up with a foam tape especially designed for making shakers – thin in width but thick in height, and with non-sticky sides. Know what I mean? 🙂
I die cut the frame from an older Kaisercraft paper pad (After Five) which still does the job for me with its neutral designs and lots of specialty papers like this foiled one which added elegance and lightness to the card. I backed the frame with white cardstock and enclosed the confetti hearts behind the vellum.
The sentiment from Dream Believer  was stamped in black on vellum, and I added some foliage sprigs cut with Foliage Frame Die from shiny gold paper.

CASE Study Challenge #208

We’ve got a fantastic inspiration at CASE Study, coming from our new Muse Debby Hughes!

I used the newly released Punny Produce: Tomatoes stamp set from WPlus9, which is indeed hilariously punny and just so sweet. I watercoloured the fruit using Peerless watercolours and an aqua brush. Simple is good 🙂

CASE Study Challenge #207

We’re back to the sweet routine at CASE Study. There’s a new Muse on the block and it’s my sweet friend and a former Design Team member, Debby Hughes! I’m so glad to have her back with us in a different role, might I add one of the most requested artists to fill this position! Here’s the inspiration from Debby:

I’m still in a huge creative stump and apparently beginning to forget how to stamp because this card didn’t come easy, plus I made some mistakes I wish I didn’t but there’s no time to fix. Oh, and of course my photography leaves a lot to wish for too, such a hard time I’m having with it lately 🙁
Anyway. You might have noticed that there’s a new release at WPlus9 (you can see the new product here, everything available for purchase tomorrow) and although I’m slacking with joining the previews like the rest of the Team, I promise to do my best in the coming weeks. In the meantime I hope you stay tuned to the WPlus9 blog because Dawn and the girls are doing a marvelous job with those beauties!

I used a new Dream Believer stamp set with a Dreamcatcher Die. I die cut and assembled the pieces and stamped the beads, plus I glued on some glass glitter to the tips of the feathers. The sentiment is heat embossed on vellum and the little bokeh pieces that come in the set, were stamped in Lake House ink.

CASE Study Challenge #202

This week at CASE Study marks the end of the month of inspiration from Shari Carroll. Fret not, we got to have an extra fifth week this month, which happens only a couple of times each year. So enjoy the bonus, pull out those supplies and join us!

It might be the first card of Shari I ever saw, as well as mentally noted as awesome. Big, bold flower against the intricate kraft background? Oh yes, any time! I chose to abandon the tone-on-tone stamping because it didn’t suit my idea, but I did use kraft (Simon Says Khaki cardstock) and a bold pop of colour which I put together with the help of Copics and the awesome Lace Up set from Altenew. Oh, and a Copic Opaque White pigment paint. Hello, fun and easy!

In case you dig the look of the colour combo, the markers I used are RV13, RV29, BG53 & BV29.
