Sketchbook Saturday Challenge #37

Please check out my Jay Gee’s Nook card below as well! :)

Here goes, another Saturday sketch from yours truly… on Sunday 😉
We had a bit of a deja vu yesterday, having been asked to attend a barbecue with the fam, just like last weekend, at the same place and time. Needless to say, it was again too late for me to start on this card, when we came back. I’m making it up to you NOW!

This sketch, and my card, were inspired greatly by
this card by Dana. I love it so much, I didn’t want to change much… and thus I CASE’d it :)
It’s a really lovely sketch, IMHO, so I’m giving you a chance at it too!

Supplies: cardstock: white, SU! (Melon Mambo), PTI (New Leaf), American Crafts (black); stamps: PTI (A Little Argyle, Mat Stack 1 - with label die), There She Goes (Believe In You); ink: Memento (Tuxedo Balck, Rose Red), PTI (Fresh Snow); Copics; buttons; ribbon; sewing machine; Notebook Edge Die-Namics die: My Favorite Things

I used the lovely colours of JAI93:

A few things to keep in mind if you decide to use my sketch:
- You’re kindly asked to save the image onto your computer first, and if you make a card based on it, please link back to this post.
- If you upload your card to an online gallery, please use the code SSC37.
- Please share the link to your creation via the Inlinkz widget, so that I can come and check it out. I would love to see what you did with it!
- The colours/elements mean nothing towards the card. All styles, colours and supplies, as well as slight alterations of the sketch are welcome.
- A new sketch and sample is posted every Saturday, but you’re welcome to play any time! Just leave a link in the comments section after Inlinkz widget closes.

TSG Float My Boat Blog Hop

Welcome to Day 2 of There She Goes new release sneak peeks! I hope you enjoyed yesterday… there’s more fabulousness to come, I assure you!!
You should have come here from Holly’s blog, but if you want to join in the fun, or get lost on the way, please refer to the TSG Blog for the complete Blog Hop list and details.

Awhile back Torico had posted some of her sketches on her Facebook page and this adorable boy and his puppy got lots of attention! So many of you said that it needed to be made into a stamp and we agreed. Not only is this mini set great by itself but it can also be combined with many of Torico’s other TSG stamp sets for even more versatility!

Float My Boat is a 3×4 set that includes a total of 9 stamps and will sell for $7.

I wanted to make the waves out of cardstock, with the negative scallops, but my puches don’t make them, unfortunately. I thought that the eyelet scallops would look fun too, and so that’s what I did.
I cut out the boy’s hands, so that he appears to be reaching into the sea. I stamped some fishies from Best Fishes, as if they’re coming closer to meet the lil’ guy :)
I also stamped the birds from By The Sea, on the sky. There are birds images in the new set too, but I wanted to show you the versatility of the sets.
The clouds are cut out of the cardstock, and dotted with Ice Stickles.

Supplies: cardstock: American Crafts (navy blue, teal), white; paper: My Mind’s Eye; stamps: There She Goes (Float My Boat, Best Fishes, By The Sea); ink: Memento (Tuxedo Black); Copics; burlap; baker’s twine; sewing machine; button; Ice Stickles; paper piercer

I used SSSC127 for my layout:

Would you like a chance to win the Float My Boat stamp set? Here’s what you need to do- go to each of the Trendsetter’s Blogs and leave a comment on their Float My Boat Blog Hop Challenge post. After you have finished checking out the eye candy and have left some love, return to the TSG Blog and add your name to the Mr. Linky at the bottom of this Blog Hop Challenge post. A winner will be chosen randomly using a random number generator to receive their very own Float My Boat stamp set. The winner will be announced Saturday (July 30th) during the Release Party Chat!

Next stop is at the wonderful Jessica’s blog. Happy hopping!

TSG115 - Fabric

Hi, sweets! It’s time for another challenge at the TSG blog.
This week our challenge is brought to us by our Trendsetter of the week - Karen! She is challenging us to use fabric on our cards and projects. There are so many fun ways to incorporate fabric on cards and we can’t wait to see all of the things you crafty peeps come up with!

I had to cheat a bit, as I don’t seem to have any nice fabric at home at the moment. I used to have some scraps but threw them away… So I pulled out some trusty burlap - I almost forgot what nice touch it adds to the card! I also used some felt letters to spell “BLAST”. These were one of my first crafty purchases, when I had no idea what I’m doing yet… lol

The TSG stamp set that I used is the fabulous Out Of This World by Melyssa (Whimsie Doodles).

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: DCWV, white, recycled kraft; paper: My Mind’s Eye; stamps: There She Goes (Out Of This World); ink: Memento (Tuxedo Black); Copics; glitter glue; edge distresser; Cuttlebug embossing folder (Houndstooth); burlap; felt letters; letter stickers: Carolee’s Creations; red twine: AnnaBelle Stamps

The sketch comes from The Ribbon Reel challenge #6:

I’m also entering the card into TPE107 - Felt.

To be eligible for the giveaway, you are to create a card that has glitter, glitz and bling and then come back to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the InLinkz that is located at the bottom of this challenge post. This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (July 18). The winner will get a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!

By participating in this challenge, you may also find yourself in the Trendsetting Spotlight that shines on the TSG Blog every Thursday. We will be on the look out to find challenge cards that stand out and show Trendsetting qualities. TSG stamps are not required to participate in the challenges but are appreciated :)

You do not need to have a blog to be able to participate in the TSG Challenges! You can simply add the URL link from your project after it has been uploaded to your online craft gallery. If you upload your card to an online craft gallery, please use the keyword TSG115 so we can check out your beautiful work!

Thanks for coming!!

Two sketches, two colour combos

Happy Sunday, peeps! I hope your weekend is joyful and relaxing. Mine has been very much so, and after almost two days of break from crafting, I sat down behind my desk… frankly, quite eagerly 😀
I made these two in a leisurely pace, and I intend not to call it a day yet *wink wink*
I was surprised to see where the inspiration took me with the first card… it’s not too often that I would make a card for a kid, and even less probable to have a boy card. I love it when it happens, though!

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: PTI (Enchanted Evening), Canson (orange), Stampin’ Up! (Baja Breeze); white; paper: Scenic Route; stamps: We R Memory Keepers; ink: Versa Magic (Sand Beige), Memento (Danube Blue), Versa Color (Orange); Cuttlebug embossing folder (Stars); eyelets; button; border punch: EK Success

The sketch comes from PPA81, and the colours from cQc#72. The card also qualifies for C4C75, which is to use dies.

Photobucket Photobucket

The second one is more of my usual style :)

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: PTI (Ocean Tides, Aqua Mist), Stampin’ Up! (Chocolate Chip), white; stamps: There She Goes (Love Birds), Hero Arts; ink: Memento (Rich Cocoa, London Fog), Versa Color (Petal Pink); Copic markers; lace trim; grosgrain ribbon; twisted paper string; button; brown marker; border punch: Fiskars

This time the sketch comes from JAI56, and the colours from Totally Hues Challenge #2:

Off to get some more ink on my fingers… I’ll see you around!
