And more Flourishes…

I’m rounding up my cards for the Flourishes Birthday celebration tonight.
With a bit of cheating, mind you… one of the cards I’m sharing today, has been waiting to be blogged for the whopping two months or so. So, it’s not really a new creation, but it’s the first time I’m showing it, thus it counts, I hope :)

It utilizes Spellbinders circle dies in a variety of ways, I even cut some around the perimeter and shaped them to make flower embellishments. The stamps I used, come from the Love and Lace set from Flourishes. I distressed the main image with ink and Crackle Accents - hence the “fleecy” look of the silhouette.

The challenge for it is “Sprinkles on Top“. Perhaps not sprinkles in a true meaning of the word, I used some Liquid Pearls to decorate the stamped image. I hope it counts :)

…and here’s the card I made tonight, one of the few true CAS creations that utilize Flourishes stamps. These two don’t normally meat in my books.
The stamp set used is called Life, Love and Lemons. It was one of my first purchases with them and I still love it - plus, I swear I can never resist glittering these lemons, the very next thing I stamp them :)

I stamped them in a wavy lines and then pierced the cardstock directly above them. I used Copics for colouring and added glitter glue to the wedges.

This one’s for “A Banner Day” challenge. How do you like my twist on it? :)

See you tomorrow for the CASE Study challenge, and many thanks for stopping by!

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 98

Hello! Ready for a new Waltzingmouse sketch?? I hope it won’t scare you… it was’s super fun to work with and has many possibilities!

I saw a quilt pattern as soon as I saw it, and so I run with this idea. I cut various blocks of paper from Basic Grey’s Plumeria collection and sew them together. Then I simply stamped the sentiment from the brand new Waltzingmouse Compact Family stamp set, added a flower from the same BG’s collection, a ribbon and some flowers (Maya Road & Kaisercraft). I finished the piece with two Maya Road stick pins. Apart from cutting and sewing the blocks, it was a quickie.

A little close-up.

I loosely followed the cQc#137 challenge:

Word to your mother

Woo hoo! It figures that’s all I needed to have my mojo replenished - a bit of time and a couple of cards made just because. It reminded me how much I love creating with the challenges, just for the fun of it, and sharing the joy with all of you beautiful people.

As I was browsing through the current ones, it happened that the vision that I had for a particular sketch, expanded to accommodate three more challenges. Quite easily, really…
Another thing I really like - combining them.
Creating with a sketch or colour combo only in mind, is not too much of an effort to me any more, while when I aim myself to put together several different ideas, into a coherent and appealing card, that’s when things get really entertaining. Honestly, I wouldn’t know what I’d do without challenges. With so many stamps, papers and ideas floating around in my head, I need guidelines to get me going or I’d get lost.

This number was put together with Echo Park and Bo Bunny papers, Flourishes beautiful Love and Lace stamps, Kaisercraft ribbon and mulberry roses and polka dot grosgrain ribbon. Also, lots of Frayed Burlap Distress Ink, which is my number one for inking the edges.
The circular motifs in the stamp set, were cut with Circle Nestabilities®; the decorative frame fits in Standard Circles SM, and the insert in Standard Circles LG.

…and the challenges for this one?
The lovely ISSC14 sketch, the inspiration photo of TSTR113,

Timeless Tuesday #168 (“pink-a-licious”) and RCC52 - Word to Your Mother.

Thanks so much for giving me so much fun by providing these! Also, thank you for leaving a note… as always :) Mwah!

The Craft’s Meow March Release - Day 1

Please check out my Waltzingmouse sketch and Sketchbook Saturday posts below as well!

Oh how exciting it is to finally start sharing the The Craft’s Meow March release with you!! This is hands down the sweetest release that I had the pleasure to take part in, and it’s also a humongous one! There are six new sets being introduced in the next five days, and each day you’ve got a chance to win one or more of them.

We are welcoming new Designers to our ranks: Jackie Rockwell, Jen Cuthbertson and my sweet CASE Study pal, Amy Wanford (Aimes)!
Joining us is also a brand new stamp designer, Karen Baker (I can’t WAIT to see her designs!!), and two Guest Designers, Amy Kolling and Deborah Nolan.
That’s what I call a reason to celebrate! :)

Today we are introducing two sets designed by Nina Brackett, Beautiful Spring and Mother & Father. I can’t get enough of both, and I’m sure that you will be seeing lots of these in the weeks to come.
I combined both, on the card below. I pieced the flowers from Beautiful Spring with two layers of cardstock, that I lightly scrunched to add some texture.

Supplies: cardstock: PTI (Spring Moss, Rustic Cream), SU! (retired purple); stamps: The Craft’s Meow (Beautiful Spring, Mother & Father); ink: Memento (Bamboo Leaves, Bahama Blue, Lulu Lavender, London Fog); Shapeabilities Fancy Tags; MFT Dizzy Doily die; pinking scissors; rhinestones: Kaisercraft

I used the Card Patterns sketch 156:

To give you some additional inspiration, we’re giving you a new challenge on each day of the previews, and today there is this lovely sketch from Amy Tsuruta.

The deadline for all 3 challenges for the birthday week is 9:00pm PDT, Saturday, March 31st.

I designed one more card, with this sketch and the butterfly from Beautiful Spring. Such a gorgeous stamp to colour! I sneaked in the sentiment from Sent With Love, also by Nina.

For a good measure…

Have you noticed in my last post, from a couple of hours ago, how I shared that I’m not calling it a day? Yeah, I didn’t. I had heaps of fun with some Flourishes stamps… boy, I loooove them :)
I’ve been battling myself whether to post these two tonight (it’s almost 2 am), or wait until tomorrow, but since there are two more posts coming then and I’ve got no write-up for neither of them yet, I decided on doing it straight away :)

There are a couple of great challenges at Flourishes at the moment, one being May’s Bring Back Beautiful (BBB10) - The Beauty Of A Flower. I paired it with JAI67 sketch.
I like the look that I achieved on the daisies… I didn’t blend the colours, which gave a crisper result.

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: PTI (Simply Chartreuse), white; paper: Scenic Route; stamps: Flourishes (Gerbera Daisies); ink: Memento (Tuxedo Black), Versa Color (Sage); Copics; grosgrain ribbon; pleated trim; Nestabilities Labels 14; pearls: Kaisercraft; button; string

Photobucket

For the next card, I paired the Flourishes Release Challenge (FLLCMAY11), which is to use a sentiment directed to one’s mom as a focal point, with the FTL139 sketch.
(yeah, I can hear you growling… my card has absolutely nothing to do with clean & simple… :))

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: PTI (Hibiscus Burst), recycled kraft, white; paper: Sassafras; stamps: Flourishes (Spring Bouquet); ink: Memento (Rich Cocoa), Versa Color (Cinnamon); Nestabilities Ovals; sewing machine; paper doily: Martha Stewart; organza ribbon; paper flower; buttons

This time I swear I’ll let you live for a while… 😉 I’m heading to bed now (hooray!), and tomorrow I won’t post until later in the afternoon (which is early morning for my friends from a Northern Hemisphere).
Have a lovely time,whatever you’re doing! Hugs,

TSG105 - 3D Flower Fun

This week’s challenge is brought to us by our Trendsetter of the Week, Tammy. She wants to see your use of gorgeous and versatile 3D flowers. You can use poofy flowers, diecut flowers, Primas, felt, or crocheted flowers…let your imaginations run wild! We can’t wait to see what you come up with! :)

On my card, I used the adorable mum & daughter image (or two friends, for that matter… they can be interpreted however you like), from the newly released set, Blossom By Blossom.
For my 3D blooms, I stacked the flowers from the Dance set together, and gently curled up the petals, to create a dimensional look. These flowers must be my all-time favourites from There She Goes :)

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: recycled kraft, American Crafts (Coffee), white; paper: Crate Paper; stamps: There She Goes (Dance, Blossom By Blossom); ink: Memento (Tuxedo Black), Versa Color (Celadon); Copics; Nestabilities Ovals, Scalloped Ovals; sewing machine; grosgrain ribbon; brads: Basic Grey; border punch: Martha Stewart

I’m submitting this card into the following: SSS106 (sketch), The Ribbon Reel Challenge #1 (colour combo) & Copic OZ Challenge #10 - Celebrate Women.
