Hi guys, fancy some new cards?? I got to play with a couple of favourite challenges this morning. Um, I should be really doing some other work instead, like creating for the assignments, but what the heck! I’m quite happy with those, so nothing ventured, nothing gained 🙂
I settled down for CAS designs, partly because of the nature of the challenges, partly because I didn’t want to spend hours piling stuff up. lol
I gave some love to two of the great companies with these two, WPlus9 and PTI. Let’s start with this fun folksy card, featuring WPlus9 Folk Art Florals and Sweet Nothings stamp sets. To say that I adore both, would be an understatement. Did you guys see the new release yet?? THUD. Must. Have.
Anyway, it’s a straightforward design so no explanation necessary, apart from that you may be curious how I did the tri-coloured blooms. I stamped the big flower in pink, then the mid-sized one in yellow on top of it (which gave the yellow a light orange tint), and lastly I inked just the flower from the wee bloom + leaves stamp and used it for the very centre.
I combined here the beautiful inspiration from Monday Mood Board #8 and the layout of the given card from the Muse Challenge #12.
The next card is made for the 10 Minute Craft Dash #15 (amongst the others, about which later), so I’ll begin with showing you what I started with. Well, not all of it is there, I forgot to assemble all of the stuff and ended up reaching for the rest in panic while the time was mercilessly ticking away 🙂
My time…
The splatters of ink were the last minute decision, I needed something to ‘loosen up’ the design that looked a bit formal and boring. In the end the ink got all over the place but I’m not concerned, I think it looks good anyway 🙂
Two more challenges that I gave a go…
Thanks for taking a peek, and thank you for your lovely comments under yesterday’s post! You guys rock 🙂
