The birthday sketch challenge

Written by: iwona    10 Comments

I took on The Birthday Sketch Challenge in the Moxie Fab World, happily indulged in both the all-stamping and non-stamping versions of the sketch. Too bad the weather today is far from perfect, I could use a tad better lighting for my photos!
Anyway, here’s the sketch. I turned it 90 degrees anti-clockwise for the scrappy version, and kept as it is for the stamped card.

I rarely ever use Thickers (or any other big alpha stickers) on my cards, they often require a feature on their own and it’s hard for the rest of the elements not to compete. Unless the aim is to make them the main feature, as it happens to be on the card below. I combined the wording with some long hoarded October Afternoon chippie banner pieces and Glitz Design rub-on. Wow, is that collection even still for sale?? :)

The stamped version. I followed the trend that seems to have emerged for this challenge, and used balloons. Only mine is the cutest stuff on the block, the Party Animal stamp from Avery Elle *wink*. I masked the balloons so that I can have them stacked, added the strings with black pen, and combined the sentiment from the set, with the letters from My Favorite Things stamp set. I had the latter for longer than I remember, and only now they enjoy ink for the first time. Too bad as it seems to be discontinued, lol… The story of my life :)

Which one do you prefer?? Cheers, inky friends :)
