Hello! I’m running severely behind with this post, so it has to be a super quick one… (we’re in the midst of searching for a new house - exciting stuff but so time consuming!) Welcome to another installment of Countdown to Christmas with Penny Black! I hope you’re enjoying the series, I know I do!
My aim is to share a new Christmas card made with Penny Black stamps each week. Today I reached for one of the most delightful Christmas-themed sets I’ve seen - Winter Village. It consists of a lovely, whimsical village image (which I’m yet to ink up) and the absolutely stunning sentiment, which I’m featuring on the cards below. The easy yet effective technique that I used here is well explained by my fabulous inky buddy Laura Bassen, in THIS post of hers, supported by a cool video too
If you haven’t yet tried it, think about it! It’s really super easy, you basically stamp twice - once on the base and once on the die cut, and then layer the two to fit.
I also used the patterned paper, that comes in Penny Black exclusive Madison paper pad.
Which of the two cards do you like more?

Simply beautiful! I prefer the 1st card.
I think i would have to say the card with the dotty paper, though I love both. The dot paper just appears to me to make to card more eye catching. I love your colours.
Both cards are stunning; not possible for me to select just one! Gorgeous, plus!! I’m off to check out the video. You’ve definitely inspired me with these! Thanks so much for sharing your amazing creations; visits to your blog are always, always day-brightening and smile-making!

I like the solid aqua background card the best. The focus is on the greeting and the snowflake. The dotty card is a bit busy. Thanks for the inspiration. 😀
Love these beautiful blue, fresh cards so much. I look forward to this feature every week, my friend! Congrats on the tweet from Penny Black!
Oh, this are so cool and pretty!
