TCM Farewell Blog Hop

Written by: iwona    13 Comments

I’m sad to see one of my favourite companies closing its doors today. I’ve been giving my The Craft’s Meow stamps way too little attention in the last couple of months, and I feel kinda guilty now that I know I’m using them for the last time while the store is operational. For those who don’t know, I served on their Design Team and it was a super lovely time indeed. I hope that you’ll join me and other past TCM Designers, in a special Blog Hop honouring the fun times we had and enjoying once again the stampy goodness. All the best with everything, Lisa!!

You should have come here from Angelica’s blog, and you can join us otherwise by starting at the beginning at the The Craft’s Meow Store blog. We were asked to pull out our favourite stamp sets for today and I couldn’t stop at one, but before I show you the cards I made, here’s a bit of an info for you:

The Craft’s Meow store is closing its doors at the end of December. All stamp sets have been marked down by as much as 75%! Stock is limited… once it’s gone, it’s gone for good, so please shop early for the best selection. All orders of $25 or more will receive a free gift with purchase. Flat rate shipping is $3.00 for all US orders and $12 for all International orders. Please see the store blog for details, or click over to The Craft’s Meow store to start shopping!
Note, we won’t be offering any prizes for leaving comments on this hop.

So, firstly I laid my hands on the gorgeous set designed by Nina Brackett, Simply Delightful. Nina’s designs were my favourite, I love the timeless and elegant style of her drawings. I used the doily design from the set, as a mandala and coloured it with Copics for an eye-popper of a focal point :) Then I stamped the sentiment on a strip of vellum, which I positioned between the image and the top layer, mounted on foam tape.

For the second card, I inked up another set of Nina’s, Tandem. It’s so adorable, I love the images and the fonts in it. I stamped everything on a piece of DP (Echo Park Ombre Essentials), and then I stamped the hearts from All You Need Is Love, flicked some spray ink, and sprinkled randomly some confetti pieces, to create a bokeh effect. I also added some R20 Copic to inside the wheels, hoping to give the image a watercolour - like wash.

I still didn’t have enough, so I took the Vintage Snowflakes set (ha! another one of Nina!) and made this quick one-layer. The design was inspired by this Pinterest find (thanks, Missy T.!). I also used for the fillers, my go-to set if when don’t want to risk messing up the design with misplaced ink splatters - Typically Teen, as well as some stars from another company’s set.

From here you should go to Jennie’s blog. Thanks for taking a peek, and happy shopping! :)
