January Beautiful World Tour

Written by: iwona    27 Comments

Hello and sorry for the late! I had a serious boo boo with my computer, which resulted in the need to retire the machine… two days of much frustration (one of them being my birthday, not the kind of ‘adventure’ I was hoping for yesterday) and here I am again, typing it from a new computer that hopefully will last :) The incident led to a disruption in this week’s schedule and sadly I might have to postpone the Sketchbook Saturday post for a week and have it up this coming Saturday instead.

It will be a busy week on the blog one way or another, and I’m starting with the first Flourishes Beautiful World Tour of 2014!
I hope you’ll join us for the blog hop and get inspired by the talented girls from all over the globe. Leave a comment on every stop, and you could WIN A FREE FLOURISHES STAMP SET! You’ve got until Jan 31st for your chance to win.

You should have arrived here from Dina’s blog, you can also join us from the beginning at the Flourishes Blog.

This month our hostess is Anne-Elise and she challenged us to Vintage. Oh, no problem at all! I chose the Sturt’s Desert Rose from Bloomin’ Aussie Florals stamp set, which I paper pieced with some Kaisercraft paper. Added a lovely die cut frame (also Kaisercraft), filled the inside with more patterned paper (Glitz Design) and stamped the sentiment from Tag Lines inside.

The florals were stamped twice for each cluster, and I cut them out once as a whole, and once the flowers only - which I then layered for a bit of yummy dimension. The finishing touches are wood veneer pieces, pearl strips and a seam binding bow. Unfortunately some of the stuff used here came as a no-name product from a LSS and I can’t credit them with a link.

Thanks for taking time to visit me here in Australia, it’s time to grab your passports and board Flourishes flight, your next destination is…

  1. Your “roses” look so pretty, especially in our outback colours! That frame just sets them off perfectly too. Thanks for sharing your wonderful talent with us all.

  2. Despite the computer glitch, it was well worth coming back later today to check out your beautiful card. It is gorgeous and the flowers are like no other. Great coloring and design work.

  3. Just lovely- I am sorry you have had a rough start to the new year, and YOUR new year! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! It seems that many people around me physically and virtually have had unexpected, frustrating situations occur this first week of 2014… myself included! Hope it’s not a precedent! Your work inspires as always! All the best and look forward to learning more from you in 2014~

  4. Happy Birthday, I hope you took some time away from your IT issues to enjoy it. Gorgeous card. I love those Aussie florals. Such beautiful results with the paper piecing.

  5. Glad you finally got things up and running again, that’s so frustrating! Hope it didn’t spoil your birthday celebrations! Your card is gorgeous - the soft colours and composition make it a real knock out! Fab take on the vintage theme!
