Smitten… a scrapbook

How utterly frustrating…
I would have told you that plenty of times before, I just can not take a decent photo of a scrapbook page. If it wasn’t enough that as a learner (and a very self-critical one too!) I virtually never end up with something I consider good in my books. Sheesh.
I don’t claim to be a good photographer, in fact I’m acutely aware of the fact that there’s lots to learn, but in the years of photographing cards and stuff, on the almost daily basis, I was able to develop the techniques that work well on my photos. Except when it comes to scrapbooks, when to my amazement, all my skills seem to miraculously vanish.

I committed the one below two days ago, and let me tell you, it was for the first time that I was actually pretty cool with the result. Not as in “holy cow, will you look at THIS!!”, but I decided that my perseverance is indeed leading me somewhere. Yet, all of that magic disappeared the moment I took the damned photos. LOL

I’ll let you judge for yourselves :)

MME January sketch

I’m thinking about the day I’ll look at the scrapbook page I made and be content with it, and if it will ever happen :)
For now I’m a learner, and as one I decided to tackle My Mind’s Eye January sketch. It’s super lovely, it gives a great opportunity for some misting, and it means I get to play with my favourite paper company’s products. Hence this:

For the base I used the paper from Miss Caroline, and there’s lots of stuff from the Kraft Funday collection. Misting was done with the aid of Leapfrog Glimmer Mist and The Crafter’s Workshop honeycomb template. Additional misting done with October Afternoon Sprinkler.
Added stamping with Glitz Design stamps, plus the sentiment from Technique Tuesday. Some more Glitz Design stuff here and there, mainly transparencies. Some doodling.
I ordered some lovely prints the other day, so in the meantime I’ll keep trying :)

Casadia (and a scrapbook)

Good grief, did you notice that I’ve been blogging every day this week?? If you’re likely to have missed anything, give it a scroll!

I treated myself to some leisurely crafting, last night and this morning alike. I’ve been itching to make a scrapbook which it finally came to, but before I show it… did you hear about CASADIA?
It’s a brain child of my crafty friend Wida’s and you know I love if it means a bit of good ole’ CASE’ing :)
Jenny Martin was the last one to submit the card, here it is:

See all the cards in the chain HERE.
I love the pairing of melon with b&w, and polka dots. I added a touch of orange for some extra interest. The stamps and die are from PTI Love Lives Here set.

The panel as well as the heart, were popped up on dimensionals. Stickles were added to the heart, yum!

……………………………………………………………………………………………………..

And here’s the page! As always, I’d mix the supplies from a variety of manufacturers. I don’t own much in terms of scrapbooking-friendly stuff, so I help myself to whatever happens to lie around and promises to make a roughly coherent project 😉
Here the base is a Bo Bunny paper, and the other papery goodness comes from Canvas Corp., Glitz Design, Kaisercraft, Basic Grey, Crate Paper - to name a few.
I also did some stamping, using Hero Arts Circle Doily and PTI Say It With Style.

A couple of close-ups.

The photo was taken roughly two weeks ago, on our way back home from the vacation in South Australia. Hubby was nailed down with some impromptu computer work, while we were chilling in a very nice park in Bordertown (they also had a nice bakery with the most indulging gift shop… eeek!). My parents did a brilliant work with entertaining Chuplet.

(Btw, yes I DO need a (good) new printer… the laser that we’ve got was doing a pretty decent job until recently, not sure what its issues are. Sigh.)

Some Spellbinders projects…

Hi, gang!
I don’t have anything new to share tonight, but I thought I’d quickly chime in, with a couple of projects that I did for Spellbinders a few months’ back while on their DT, and which can now be accessed through their Idea Gallery.
One of them is this recipe book:

…and another, a scrapbook page :)

You can find the detailed description for each of these pieces, including list of supplies, HERE for the recipe book and HERE for the layout.
Thanks for looking! Don’t forget about my big Sale too, you can find the link to the page under the blog header :)

Yep! I scrapped… and to top it up, I’m even happy with how I photographed this one! I can hear the angels sing… :)
I’m super sad that my Guest Designer gig is over, it went by all too quickly. However, the good memories is what I will have forever. Hmmm… maybe I should scrap it too?? haha
See you in T minus 1 hour (roughly), for the first day of the TCM release! You don’t want to miss it, honestly…

TSG Stampbook Saturday

Hello, friends!
Today I’d like to show you a 12×12 layout, designed with a multitude of TSG stamps. I made it for my parents in Poland, and it features the photos from our trip there last year. It was the first time they’ve seen our daughter Zuzia, and the only one so far… unfortunately. It’s a downside of living abroad, when the close family is missing out on the growth of the wee ones!
Because they’re the recipients, I decided to put some wording in Polish there as well, and it reads: “my super grandparents” :)

The sets that I used are: In Stitches (the faux stitching between the panels), World’s Best (the ribbon badge), Bit Of Stardust (stars), and Buckets Of Love (sentiment on the flag).
The other supplies used here are the Rubber Stampede backgroud stamp (Crackled Background), and lots of October Afternoon funsies :)

And while I’m at it, I’d also like to share another layout, that I made for October Page Maps. You can check all October’s layouts here. Most of the supplies on this page, come from Glitz Design.

Head on over to the TSG blog for a daily dose of inspiration!
