Farewell to Glitz Design

Hello! This is sadly my last post for Glitz Design… I hope that you enjoyed my creations made with their fabulous collections, and that I inspired you a wee bit :)
I had a wonderful time on the Team, so thank you to everyone who made it happen and to the Glitz artists that provided me with a truly magnificent product.

As always, I would like to share two cards, which I out together with the latest collections. First one is a collage of bits and pieces from different sources, that match beautifully. It’s something that I stressed several times already - you can mix & match almost all Glitz collections to your heart’s content, and always come up with something coherent and unique.

Masculine cards with Glitz Design

Hi there! If you haven’t yet took the opportunity to play along with this month’s challenge at Glitz Design blog, I sincerely hope you’ll take time to do so! As always, there’s a chance to win lots of Glitz goodies, and the theme is as follows:

Let’s hear it for the men in our lives! Although it’s a true challenge for many of us (including myself) to create masculine projects, but I strongly believe that Glitz has the product that suits goth genders perfectly well. One of the things I admire about their collections, is that they fit well for just about any theme and occasion. Let me show you some examples…

This card was made entirely with the Pretty In Pink collection (apart from stamping). I put aside the pinks and used the earthy toned papers instead, to compliment the Paper Layer that I used for the base. Glitz also has a variety of amazing stamps, many of which are perfectly masculine, like this clock from Dance In Sunshine set.

Glitz Design “Pretty Ink Pink” papers: Stripe, Polka
Glitz Design “Pretty Ink Pink” Paper Layers
Glitz Design “Dance In Sunshine” Clear Stamps

Other: brown cardstock; string; buttons: Kaisercraft; sentiment stamps: Flourishes; sewing machine; inks: Memento Rich Cocoa & Frayed Burlap Distress Ink

For the next card, I used a cool blue base which I stamped with the grid pattern from Distressing set. It doesn’t show up very well I’m afraid, it’s a very subtle effect. I layered a transparency and stickers from different collections, and some ribbon, to frame the lovely, encouraging message.

Glitz Design “French Kiss” papers: Peek-A-Boo
Glitz Design “Love Games” Journaling Cardstock Stickers
Glitz Design “French Kiss” Titles Cardstock Stickers
Glitz Design “Distressing” Clear Stamps

Other: blue cardstock; sentiment stamp: The Craft’s Meow; ink: Memento Summer Sky & Danube Blue, buttons; twill ribbon

Hello, friends! This month’s challenge on the Glitz Design blog is up, and it’s all about celebrating us girls! Whether it’s your mum, sister, or friend, make a project honoring them and you’re good to go :)

First off, I knew I wanted to use one of the fabulous layered stickers from Pretty In Pink, it’s such a lovely collection of heartwarming sentiments with accompanying images, that pretty much make a card alone. This sentiment is so versatile, that it suits our mothers, friends, aunts and sisters alike!

Glitz Design - new collections fun

I didn’t have much time until now, to take a closer look at the Winter CHA collections from Glitz Design. They’ve been sitting on my desk, teasing me, being utterly gorgeous and all that. I’m sure you know the drill.
You may also know that shiver of excitement when you cut into a brand new sheet for the first time, if you happen to be a paper junkie like me… Boy, did it happen a lot earlier today!
Wanna see the results??

Lots of pink here. No wonder, for I used the fabby Pretty In Pink line! My favourite from it are the all-new Layered Stickers, and one of them I made a focal point on this card. Swoon!
I also used the back sides of the papers, for the die-cutting.

Glitz Design “Pretty Ink Pink” Layered Stickers
Glitz Design “Beautiful Dreamer” Giant Rhinestones

Other: cardstock: Fine Linen (PTI); ribbon: Stampin’ Up!;lace: Kaisercraft; Spellbinders™ dies: S4-355 Layered Flowers, S5-079 Persian Motifs

On another one, I tried a vintage/romantic look, with the help of the French Kiss papers and stamps. I really like that collage look I achieved, by stamping on one of the patterned papers.

Glitz Design “French Kiss” papers: Floral, Labels, Hats
Glitz Design “French Kiss” Clear Stamps

Other: cardstock: kraft; ink: Memento (Potter’s Clay), Distress Ink (Frayed Burlap); Spellbinders™ dies: S4-240 Lotus Border Petites; brad: Stampin’ Up!; burlap

Thank you for joining me today, and don’t forget about a Spring-themed challenge on the Glitz blog! You still have a couple of days to play.

Glitz Design with Focus

Hi, crafty folk! An April challenge is up on the Glitz Design blog, and it’s a Spring-themed one! We are given the beautiful collage below, for our enjoyment and inspiration. I picked some of the pastel colours from it, and designed two cards - one in cool, breezy tones and another one, sweet and sunshiny.

Spring reminds me of swallows (and the other way around), and the Whatnot bird from Laced With Grace is so much like it. I chose a coordinating paper, Glitzer and another Whatnot (that I cut out the word “SMILE” from), out of the same collection. I played with textures a lot on this card, just how I like it - embossing, sewing and textiles complete the look. Isn’t that a fun colour combo too??

Glitz Design “Laced With Grace” paper: Polka
Glitz Design “Laced With Grace” Whatnot
Glitz Design “Laced With Grace” Glitzers

Other: cardstock: cream; sewing machine; rose ribbon: Kaisercraft; button; seam binding; Spellbinders™ M-Bossabilities™ Flora folder

I’m entering the card above, in Jay Gee’s Nook Challenge #18, with this beautiful colour inspiration:

For the “cooler” look, I decided to cut into my brand new Happy Travels papers. I especially like this swirly design and built my card around it.

Glitz Design “Happy Travels” papers: Floral, Stripe, Polka
Glitz Design “Happy Travels” Epoxy Words
Glitz Design “French Kiss” Clear Stamps
Glitz Design “Beautiful Dreamer” Journaling Cardstock Stickers

Other: cardstock: white; stamps (birdcage, sentiment): The Craft’s Meow (Fly Free); ink: Versafine (Onyx Black), Memento (London Fog), Distress Ink (Iced Spruce); Spellbinders™ dies: S5-031 Fancy Tags Three, S5-051 Fanciful Flight; brads; lace trim

If you have Glitz Design product on hand, why not give our challenge a try? You have until the end of the month to play, and there’s always a magnificent prize up for grabs!
