Paper & Such sneak peek - Deer Dad

Hello, lovelies!
I’m happy to pop in with a new post - as scarce as they appear lately! I took on a couple of different things and life got busier, so I’m afraid that’s how it’s going to stay, at least for the time being. You still should expect plenty of inspiration from me every week :)

I’d like to introduce you to a new stamp set, being released this Friday by Paper & Such. It’s called Deer Dad and was designed by me. It consists of one image and five sentiments, and is a great choice for those looking for masculine motifs.
I paper pieced the deer with a piece of woodgrain paper, to match the rest of the woodgrain on the card.

Supplies: cardstock: recycled kraft, cream, American Crafts (brown); paper: Cosmo Cricket (Nutmeg); stamps: Paper & Such (Deer Dad); ink: Memento (Tuxedo Black); sewing machine; Copics

For the layout, I used SSS124. Love this sketch :)

Visit the Paper and Such Design Blog, for the inspiration from the Design Team - they did magic with this set! By leaving a comment on the mystery blog (chosen from the DT’s blogs), you’re in the running for your own Deer Dad set, so hurry up and don’t lose your chance! :)

I’m hoping to see you again in a bit - loads of challenges ask for my attention and I intend to get inky tonight… mwaaaa!

TSG120 - Color Challenge

It’s time for a new, exciting TSG challenge!
This week our Trendsetter of the week Tobi has a color challenge that was inspired by this beautiful makeup:

The colors to use are baby pink, coral and black and extra brownie points if you throw in some gold somewhere on your card/project 😉

I settled down for one of the sets that I illustrated for TSG - Flying By.

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: white, American Crafts (black, coral); paper: Basic Grey (Olivia); stamps: There She Goes (Flying By); ink: Memento (Tuxedo Black); Copics; buttons; sewing machine; corner rounder: EK Success; border punch: Fiskars; twill ribbon; Nestabilities Ovlas/Scalloped Ovals; black pen

I seem to like combining TSG challenges with Karen’s sketches… here goes SSSC130! :)

To be eligible for the giveaway, you are to create a card that celebrates Summer, and then come back to the TSG Blog to add your name and a link to your project in the InLinkz that is located at the bottom of this challenge post. This challenge is open until the winner has been announced on the following Monday (August 22). The winner will get a $5 gift certificate to use in the TSG Web store!

By participating in this challenge, you may also find yourself in the Trendsetting Spotlight that shines on the TSG Blog every Thursday. We will be on the look out to find challenge cards that stand out and show Trendsetting qualities. TSG stamps are not required to participate in the challenges but are appreciated :)

You do not need to have a blog to be able to participate in the TSG Challenges! You can simply add the URL link from your project after it has been uploaded to your online craft gallery. If you upload your card to an online craft gallery, please use the keyword TSG120 so we can check out your beautiful work!

Thanks for taking a peek :)

Sketchbook Saturday Challenge #21

Hi, sweets! It’s high time for the next installment of Sketchbook Saturday, thank you so much for playing along last week! I had a blast, checking out your creations :)
I was feeling like a more complex sketch this evening, I sure do hope you’ll like it.

On my sample, I finished the vertical panel with the bracket, rather than the scallops. Of course, you’re welcome to interpret the shapes however you want.

Supplies: cardstock: American Crafts (brown), recycled kraft; paper: My Mind’s Eye (Lost & Found - Union Square, Lush); stamps: Tim Holtz (Flights Of Fancy), Paper & Such (Song In My Heart); ink: Memento (Rich Cocoa), Distress Ink (Frayed Burlap), Versa Color (White), Versa Magic (Gingerbread); Nestabilities Circles/Scalloped Circles; seam binding; string: AnnaBelle Stamps; rhinestones: Kaisercraft; button: My Mind’s Eye

I used the colours and theme of Embellish Patterned Paper Color Trends Challenge. A tiny bit of red colour snuck in the corner, but I hope it won’t be a problem :)

A few things to keep in mind if you decide to use my sketch:
- You’re kindly asked to save the image onto your computer first, and if you make a card based on it, please link back to this post.
- If you upload your card to an online gallery, please use the code SSC21.
- Please share the link to your creation via the Inlinkz widget, so that I can come and check it out. I would love to see what you did with it!
- The colours/elements mean nothing towards the card. All styles, colours and supplies, as well as slight alterations of the sketch are welcome.
- A new sketch and sample is posted every Saturday, but you’re welcome to play any time! Just leave a link in the comments section after Inlinkz widget closes.

Have fun :)

Botanical continued

I teased you last night, with the probability of another post… well, it didn’t work out :)
None the less, as soon as I had a chance to sit down to my desk today, I took the plunge and here I am, with two more shabby/distressed/botanical creations.
They were both created with the Fanatical About Botanical Challenge in the Moxie Fab World. Hell yeah… is that a fun challenge or what?!

The card below was designed with the birdies from Song In My Heart - the stamp set that I designed for Paper & Such Store.

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: recycled kraft; paper: DCWV (Mariposa); stamps: Paper & Such (Song In My Heart); ink: Distress Ink (Frayed Burlap), PTI (Fresh Snow); Heidi Swapp edge distresser; Cuttlebug embossing folder (Fleur De Lis); doily; ribbon: AnnaBelle Stamps; sentiment sticker: Glitz Design; brads; border punch: EK Success; flower: Prima; mini clothespin; vintage buttons

The sketch inspiration comes from the Card Patterns challenge #124. I turned it on the side, used the embossed pattern to imitate the rhomboidal shapes, and I cut out a piece of doily, for the bottom panel. All in all, it’s a very loose inspiration… :)

The other card, sports my favourite birdie, from Red Lead Paperworks… the CASE Study emblem :)

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: white, DCWV (yellow, khaki), PTI (Hibiscus Burst); paper: Glitz Design (Laced With Grace), October Afternoon; stamps: Red Lead Paperworks; ink: Distress Ink (Frayed Burlap), Versafine (Onyx Black); Heidi Swapp edge distresser; Cuttlebug embossing folder (Textile); Glitz Design Whatnot; twill ribbon; sentiment sticker: dollar store; flower: Wild Orchid Crafts; brads; rhinestone: Glitz Design

This time I used the sketch & theme (birthday) from Wild Orchid Challenge #28, and the colours from CR84FN34:

I hope you like these :) Until next time,

Botanical

Hi, folks! It’s my third post for today, I hope you will check out my Glitz Design & TSG cards that I posted earlier as well.

I’ve been feeling like vintage stuff tonight, and after having finished three heavily distressed projects (two of which I won’t be able to show you for a while), I still feel like more! - so maybe, just maybe… I might chime in once again before I go to bed (don’t hold my word for it, though… it’s late 😉
Besides, considering that my Glitz cards are also distressed, you might be having enough for one day… hmmm?

Anyhoo! On to the card.

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: recycled kraft, Core’dinations (embossed); paper & Paper Layer: Glitz Design (Afternoon Muse); tag: Kaszazz; stamps: There She Goes (Poppies - butterflies), Glitz Design (Distressing - background), AnnaBelle Stamps (Acacia - flowers & sentiment); ink: Distress Ink (Frayed Burlap, Pumice Stone), Memento (Bamboo Leaves); distressing tool; baker’s twine; charm: Red Lead Paperworks; twill ribbon; brads; lace trim

I made this one with the Fanatical About Botanical Challenge in the Moxie Fab World in mind. My inspiration also comes from TSTR71 (I wanted to use the pinks too, but half-way through the card I figured out that it looks better with reduced palette. I think it’s still obvious where I’m coming from, though)
The sketch is Cardabilities #35.

Thanks for popping in! :)

It’s hip to be square

Apparently I’ve been in a square card mood tonight… however, my mojo isn’t flying high, so I’m not sure about the “hip” part) Again, you be the judge :)

First, simple card is designed with the newly released Song In My Heart stamp set, designed by me for Paper & Such Store.

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: recycled kraft, SU!; papers: My Mind’s Eye, Webster’s Pages; stamps: Paper & Such (Song In My Heart); ink: Memento (Rich Cocoa), Distress Ink (Frayed Burlap); BG10 Copic; sewing machine; buttons

It loosely follows the colours of PDCC89, and the sketch from Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #77:

With the other one, I tried to be creative and made this life saving ring… but I’m not 100% satisfied with the layout, the elements seem out of balance.
The stamps are by TSG, except from the big shells on the tag - these are from an old, trusty dollar stamp set :)

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: PTI (Enchanted Evening), SU! (Baja Breeze), Canson (red), white; stamps: There She Goes (By The Sea), dollar stamps (Sullivans?); ink: Memento (Rich Cocoa, Summer Sky), Versa Color (Bark); baker’s twine; white cotton twine; eyelet

This time I used the colours & theme of Embellish Nautical Color Trends Challenge, as well as the CPS226 sketch:

Thanks for paying me a visit, today and always! You’re too sweet :)
