Sketchbook Saturday Challenge #92

How has your weekend been so far, crafty peeps? I’ve been working on something that some of you must be aware of already (Hello, email subscribers! Hello, FB friends!), I’ll be moving to a self-hosted website soon! Namely WordPress. YAY! Good-bye Blogger… 🙂
More on it later, but fret not, I’ll offer you enough time to find me at the new place, subscribe by the means of your choice, make yourself at home… I’m still polishing things up. I hope you’ll like it 🙂

I’ve got a new sketch for you, and I won’t keep you waiting any longer. I’m late already! Ouch.

The sketch was inspired by one of the cards in this post by Jill. I think I may use one more or so from that bunch, for the future inspiration - they’re all brill!!
Here’s my offering…

The papers come from MME’s Miss Caroline collection. The tag is a Glitz Design sticker, and I put some alphas there, as well as a Kaisercraft rub-on. My favourite butterflies from Hero Arts Antique Engravings, were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured with Copics.
Plenty of washi tape here as well, mixed with a button and some enamel dots from MME.

Apart from the Washi Tape Challenge in the Moxie Fab World, I’m entering this card into Tuesday Trigger: Elegant Emerald. Love me some Trigger fun 🙂

Runway inspired, for a little guy

Hi guys, just a quick post today. I’m playing with ric#31, with the card below:

There’s a PTI Harvest Gold at the bottom of the card, the strips were cut from black cardstock, the numbers border is a Silhouette cut file. The star points to the age that the little guy who this card is intended for, is turning. I hope it’s clear enough 🙂
The “you turned” wording, is a part of thew WMS stamp, from the set called Free Spirit Sentiments.

Here’s the Runway inspiration, plus the CTS#18 sketch that I also used:

See you tomorrow, I should hope!

WMS March Release Previews - Day 2

It’s Day #2 of Waltzingmouse Stamps March Release, and today we’re serving you another gorgeous mini stamp set, Folk Art Labels No. 25. It’s called so, because it corresponds with Spellbinders Labels Twenty Five Nestabilities! We all need more of these, right?? 🙂

I used the die & stamped label together, adding some quick Copic work to emphasize the details. I also took the little flourish & medallion stamps, to create the beige flower that you can see below the frame. Six of the cone shapes, fit snugly around the circle and make up for a stunning design!

The papers come from the Cashmere Dame pad by Glitz Design, I also added a butterfly by Studio Calico, Pink Paislee chippie buttons, washi tapes and twill ribbon/seam binding.

For a less frilly approach, I combined the medallion stamps and the dots (berries) from Festive Foliage, to create a bokeh-like look on this simple birthday card & tag set.

I added (again) some washi tape, and a couple of buttons.

CASE Study Challenge #124

It’s Thursday and it surely brings another fun and inspiring CASE Study challenge! Amber Kemp-Gerstel is our January Muse, and below is the fabulous crafty inspiration, as provided by her and chosen by myself.

I admit that it was one of my selfish picks, ’cause as soon as I saw this card, I knew I wanted to CASE it, using the Poppy Bottles stamp set from Stampendous.

I paired it with the sentiment from Many Birthday Messages (Hero Arts), and coloured the flowers/bottles with Copic markers.
Remember how a couple of days ago, I said that I wanted to tackle a cleaner approach to ric#27? Here it is, folks 🙂

Please visit the blogs of my fellow CASE Study Designers, as well as our Muse’s and Guest Designer’s websites, for more inspiration!

Sketchbook Saturday Challenge #85 meets Cloud9

I really should rename my sketches for Sketchbook Mondays, or best Sketchbook Whatever Day It Happens On… I guess now that I made them two-weekers, I feel less pressure to make it on time, and let’s face it - Christmastime is not the best to be on track with everything. However, I remember getting frustrated with my favourite challenges not being up when expected, and so once again my apologies to anyone who had to wait!

I hope you’ll like this sketch. It’s open for interpretation even more than usual, and I’m sharing two different takes on it to help illustrate the many ways you can use it.

My first card also follows the inspiration from Cloud9 December Blog Hop (photo below the card).

All stamps are from WPlus9, except from the clusters of tiny stars, that I had to “borrow” from a Waltzingmouse set. I used Winter Wishes along with Poinsettia Patterns for the sentiment only.

My second card is a colourful, scrappy, birthday version, with lots of miscellaneous October Afternoon/MME/Crate Paper/Echo Park goodness. The sentiment is from PTI (Big & Bold Wishes).

How ’bout that? I can’t wait to see your takes 🙂

CASE Study Challenge #115

Hi guys! I’m in the midst of my parents’ pre-arrival frenzy, so I have to be brief!
A new month at CASE Study starts now, and with it we’re greeting a new Muse! November will be bursting with inspiration from none else but Angeline Yong!! We’re very happy to have her and I’m sure you’ll love what we’ve got in store for you in the upcoming months 🙂
Here’s the first card of Angeline’s, that we’re playing with this week:

I picked the colours as close to the original as I could get (mainly Memento inks, with Versa Magic Wheat added in as well), Off Beat Backgrounds from Waltzingmouse and attempted this one-layer card:

The sentiment comes from Jane’s Doodles set, and the butterflies are a PTI die.

We’ve got a couple more announcements this week - we loved our October Guestie Jeanne so much, that we invited her to stay with us permanently! We also have a pleasure to announce another Month-Long Guest Designer, Maureen Merritt!!
I hope you’ll find a minute to stop by their blogs, as well as Angeline’s place, and congratulate them on their new gigs! 🙂
