CASE Study Challenge #132

It’s CASE Study time!! Which happens to equal “let’s CASE Julie Ebersole time” too! Judging by the number of submissions to our inaugural March challenge, you’re all more than up for it, and this in turn makes me squeal with delight. Let’s see if we can beat that with this week’s inspiration card.

Um, negative die cutting. How I love thee. Add a little dimension and the card suddenly goes from good to terrific. We don’t even need to be die cutting queens like JJ Bolton or Laura Bassen, one simple but effective shape can do it all at once, if given center stage.
Now, I don’t claim that I did just this, but negative die cutting there is none the less, and seriously… who can resist these bunnies?? Ermagherd! Cuteness abounds…

I started with the idea for the card to the left, with the two bunnies (Silhouette cut files) cut out of the cream panel and backed with patterned papers. I didn’t pop the panel up on foam tape like Julie did, though.
The balloons are die cut shapes from Studio Calico, and I tucked them in the bunneh’s paw using button twine. The sentiment comes from a WPlus9 set called Easter Greetings.

Then I decided to use the positive die cuts on another card, just ’cause they were sitting on my desk looking equally adorable. I cut an oval window in lavender cardstock, using my Nestabilities, and stamped the patterns on each of the critters, with the aid of Off Beat Backgrounds stamps from Waltzingmouse. The patterned paper in the background is Bo Bunny’s. Funnily enough.

Both cards utilize some yummy purple washi tape and buttons, I’ve also got a banner sticker from Melissa Frances, with the sentiment that seemed very appropriate for the occasion. Btw, there’s only two weeks till Easter, people!! Can’t wait for some egg-decorating fun with my Chuplet :)

The window card was inspired by Therese Calvird’s inspiration card in the Muse Challenge #8 (below), and both were also created with The Emphasize the Negative challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 89

Hi, friends! Are you planning to get inky soon? Perhaps the new Waltzingmouse sketch will help stir up your mojo:

I really, really like simple sketches like this one, that I can either dress up or leave as it is, depending on the mood. This time, I was in a colouring mood! Spring Baskets is the stamp set that I used.

No greater love

I’m popping in again, please scroll down if you’re after the Waltzingmouse Sketch card! Thanks :)

I made this card with the new, fabulous stamp set from The Craft’s Meow, Nina Brackett’s No Greater Love. Did you get yours for Easter yet?? It’s just gorgeous!
I stamped the cross off-center on a piece of patterned paper, and added the corner flourish to the opposite end. I thought that the stamp that says “no greater love than this” would complete nicely the love-themed newsprint.

Supplies: cardstock: SU! (Blushing Bride); papers: Crate Paper (Paper Heart); stamps: The Craft’s Meow (No Greater Love); ink: Memento (Rich Cocoa, Angel Pink, Bamboo Leaves); edge distresser; ribbon: May Arts; chipboard stickers: Prima, October Afternoon; transparency: Glitz Design; brads; border punch: EK Success

I used the SFYTT sketch for March, click HERE to see the post on Jen’s blog and link your entry! The Craft’s Meow is sponsoring this month’s challenge!
I also took the colours from cQc#127.

Be back soon! Stay sweet :)

Eggs on the clothesline

Yep, that’s one twisted Easter card… I ‘hung’ the Easter eggs on the clothesline, for the sake of trying something different. Moreover, I applied Crackle Accents to them. If I were an egg, I’d be worried!
What do you think?

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: PTI (Melon Berry, Rustic Cream, Lemon Tart); stamps: WPlus9 (Easter Greetings, Heartfelt Mix, Defining Words); ink: Memento (Lady Bug, Summer Sky, London Fog, Rich Cocoa, Cantaloupe); pinking scissors; sewing machine; Flourishes/Spellbinders Classic Keyhole Template die; buttons; Crackle Accents

(I decided that the light that I’ve been taking the photos at the new place so far, is too yellow. I did a tour around the house, snapping pictures in various places, and the one above seemed to be the best. Still far from being satisfied with it. How I wish I found the same lighting conditions as I had in the last house! It might not have been the most convenient place to take the photos (meaning that I had to nearly wake up hubby if I were burning the midnight oil), but it worked perfectly for both the daylight and night photos. Sigh…)

I based this card on the inspiration from JUGS126 (sketch), and Embellish Spring Color Trends Challenge (good to have them back!)

Be sweet, my friends :)
