Cloud 9 July Blog Hop

I came across a new blog a while ago, called Cloud 9 and dedicated to WPlus9 products. Seeing as they’re having a monthly Blog Hop for the fans, I thought it would be fun to join in the first one commencing right now!
I love WPlus9 stamps and dies for their quality and unique designs, even the packaging is adorable :) Definitely one of my favourite brands at the moment.

The theme of the Blog Hop is the inspiration below:

The layout and colours were what I took from it. I used the stamps from Folk Art Florals to create this card:

I started with a PTI Fine Linen base and a scrap of polka dot paper from SU. Then I took a piece of PTI Rustic White cardstock and stamped the flowers/leaves on it randomly, distressed it with Old Paper Distress Ink. I also stamped the birdhouse and some more leaves/flowers, and cut them out.
The Label was created with Labels One Nestabilities® and Fancy Tags Three Shapeabilities®, both distressed with ink like the rest. I added a banner cut out of a piece of MME patterned paper underneath, and I threaded some aqua baker’s twine through the middle.

I hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by today, and thanks to the girls from Cloud 9 for coming up with the fun idea!

Some challenge cards

Easter Sunday is behind us Australians, but to all my friends from Northern Hemisphere, I hope it’s nothing short of fabulous!
We had such a fine family day, it was quite cool outside but the egg hunt was excellent and the food was delicious! I made a traditional Polish white borsch soup and an apple cake… mmm!

I thought I’d leisurely play a couple of challenges this evening, and I ducked in the craft room to come up with these two…

Photobucket

For the first card, I inked up some WPlus9 stamps. I coloured the butterfly with Copics (BV20/BV23/BV25 and BG11/BG15 with a touch of C5 for the body). The S4-354 Splendid Circles was die cut with Core’dinations Glitter Silk cardstock, and embellished with some rhinestones.
I used the FTL185 sketch, along with the colours of Embellish Jeweled Color Trends Challenge.

For my next card, also in my favourites shades of teal, I utilized the left over die cut from S5-071 Twisted Metal Tags & Accents, and combined it with S5-081 Damask Motifs and a rolled flower from S5-085 Bitty Blossoms.
The smaller flower is Prima’s, the rhinestones are from Glitz Design and Kaisercraft, the paper from My Mind’s Eye (Lime Twist), and the stamps from Waltzingmouse Stamps (Fancy Phrases & Vintage Labels 10).

This time I used the lovely sketch from Cardabilities, and the colour story of PDCC126:

Tomorrow I’ll have a new post for you, since the first day of Some Odd Girl digi release is nearly upon us! I might jump in with another challenge card, depending on the mood :)
See you then, thanks for stopping by! xxx

Mid-day inky break

Please scroll down or click here for my (grossly delayed) Sketchbook Saturday post!

So, folks… I’m back with some more today! I needed a break. As much as I crave for a nap, I couldn’t really do so with Zuzia trotting around, and I settled down for an inky session instead. Not that it was a stress-free, uninterrupted mommy-time though 😛

Supplies: cardstock: PTI (Ocean Tides), retired SU! brown; papers: DCWV (Mariposa), My Mind’s Eye (Mabel), page from an old book; stamps: WPlus9 (Defining Words), Flourishes (Peaches and Cherries); ink: Versafine (Onyx Black), Versa Magic (Oasis Green); edge distresser; lace

This card is for the utterly delightful, new Tuesday Trigger: “A” is for Apricot. I’m also playing with The Ribbon Reel Challenge #23: Newsprint. I paper pieced the peaches (in this case apricots :) ), with some patterned paper. The folk heart is cut by hand.

The second card is CAS, for a change. The inspiration for this one, comes from Runway Inspired Challenge #7.

Supplies: cardstock: white, retired SU! pink (Pixie Pink?), PTI (Soft Stone); stamps: The Craft’s Meow (Happy Owlentine’s Day), Hero Arts (Clouds); ink: Memento (Tuxedo Black), Summer Sky); Copics; Nestabilities Circles

Here’s the inspiration from ric#7. I couldn’t help but make a card with an owl on it, like most of the DT did :)

I’ll see you tomorrow, with a CASE Study card and post! Smooches,

Jay Gees Nook Challenge #16

Hi friends, it’s time for another post in my busy weekend’s schedule, and this turn it’s a new challenge at Jay Gee’s Nook!

JGSNOOK_LOGO

I guarantee that the inspiration board (again put together masterfully by Joy) will put a HUGE smile on your face… just take a look at these juicy colours!

Instant LOVE… right?? Let’s go straight to my interpretation - I’m using the stamps from the Pretty Peonies set from Jane’s Doodles, except from the small leafy branch, that comes from an old mini set from WRMK that is quite possibly discontinued.
I did some masking to create the “bouquet”.

Photobucket

Supplies: cardstock: white; paper: Echo Park Paper (Country Drive); stamps: Jane’s Doodles (Pretty Peonies), We Are Memory Keepers; ink: Memento (Cantaloupe, Tangelo, Lady Bug, Potter’s Clay, Pear Tart, Bamboo Leaves); corner rounders: EK Success; button; letter stickers: My Little Shoebox

Hop on over to the JG’s Nook blog, to see the rest of the Design Team’s creations!
