Moxie love

Well, you never know, huh? I embraced the ‘white space’ and simple designs a lot recently, but this week seems to be all about piling it up. Perhaps your comments on my FB page, saying that you enjoy my scrappy cards more, did the job… I’m susceptible to suggestions more than I wish I would… but hey, it fruited in another fun card, so I say why not, hey! *wink*
I adore the all new challenge in the Moxie Fab World, The Mixy-Matchy Style Challenge. This is what I’m doing ever so often, so you should rightly expect me to link up my stuff there more than once! Starting now, with the card below that is also my answer to Tuesday Trigger: Vintage Vagabond.

I know I said that many times before, but it needs saying all over again… MFW rocks.
But, on to the card!

Mixy-matchy enough? :)

WMS April Release Blog Waltz

Over the last three days, we treated you to the sneaks of the brand new Waltzingmouse Stamps, now it’s time for the full reveal! Hopefully you arrived here from Anya’s blog; you can also join us anytime by starting at Claire’s blog.
We introduce two full-sized, masculine-themed sets today, called My Kind of Guy and Man of the Hour, and an adorable mini from the popular Nordic series - Nordic Baby.

Although the two big sets were created with men in mind, the stamps are versatile enough to be used in all sorts of projects. Take a look at this girly card! I used the elements from My Kind of Guy (with a small addition of Nordic Baby), and I think they look fantastic, like an ornate lace rather than a leather shoe design that they’re originally intended to be.

I also added a length of silver mesh ribbon, for an extra oomph, and arranged some die cut foliage (Taylored Expressions Leafy Branch), around the label (WPlus9 die).
This card was inspired by Runway Inspired Challenge #34:

I decided to make a couple more masculine cards as well, using the design elements in a less common way and a fresh colour palette with rust accents. Funny fact, the big & small, full circles on the first project below come from Nordic Baby. Got to love mix n’matching!

One more, simple & graphic design utilizing the frame / hat from My Kind of Guy, and the sentiment from Man of the Hour.

Next stop in the waltz is Edna Morrisedie! Thanks for visiting me today, enjoy the inspiration - and happy shopping afterwards! :)

WMS April Release Previews - Day 3

The third and last day of Waltzingmouse Stamps April Release sneak peeks has arrived! Today we give you a taste of Man of the Hour, another fantastic masculine set of stamps that you’ll be grateful for adding to your collection. It consists of a large number of sentiments, suitable for Father’s Day, birthday or handy when you just want to let your dad know how much you care. I had *too much* fun, working with these :)

My big craze of the recent, ink splatters. Tick. Loosely arranged space, funky motifs, playful and artsy feel. Tick. This card turned out exactly how I wanted it to (it doesn’t happen often), and I love it how this terrific sentiment shines through, even though there’s lots going on.

I also made a couple of fun bookmarks using a PTI tag die and some leftover SU! cardstock scraps. I chose two colour combinations that suit masculine designs but are vivid and lively. Can you tell I love colour? :)

WMS April Release Previews - Day 1

Welcome to the Waltzingmouse Stamps April Release! I’m so glad you joined us :)

Those of you who are still on the lookout for a perfect masculine stamp set, your search is over! We’re bringing you sneaks of the amazing new stamps today, in the brand new My Kind Of Guy set. It has a bit of retro, a taste of old world charm, and it oozes style! I paired them with Teresa Collins patterned paper and a bike die cut from K & Co., for the card below:

Can you possibly not like the “leather shoes” detail? I’m sorry, I have no idea how to call this thing… lol. But we all know what we’re looking at, right? There’s quite a few similar designs in this set (including the decorative scrolls that I used on the sides of the sentiment), who knew there’s so much inspiration to be found in a man’s outfit!

Here’s another approach, this time I reached for a cleaner, fresher design, aimed at a younger recipient. Love how the frame looks stamped off-side. Umm yes, of course I had to add some ink splatters too… *wink*

Runway inspired, for a little guy

Hi guys, just a quick post today. I’m playing with ric#31, with the card below:

There’s a PTI Harvest Gold at the bottom of the card, the strips were cut from black cardstock, the numbers border is a Silhouette cut file. The star points to the age that the little guy who this card is intended for, is turning. I hope it’s clear enough :)
The “you turned” wording, is a part of thew WMS stamp, from the set called Free Spirit Sentiments.

Here’s the Runway inspiration, plus the CTS#18 sketch that I also used:

See you tomorrow, I should hope!

Sketchbook Saturday Challenge #75

Again I’m popping up quickly, sorry guys! The recent back problems threw me off the loop; I spent the last two days lying in bed with a cold pack… today has been much better, but I’m still taking it easy.
It’s time with a new sketch, of course, and surprise (not), it’s an inspired one.

Tomorrow is Father’s Day in Australia, and I was looking into a card for dad-in-law. I chose an easy path and used a brilliant card by Maile Belles for my inspiration. You can see it HERE on her blog, it’s the second one in the post. I followed it pretty much to a “T”, small changes here and there, driven by the difference in supplies and the need of adding a personal touch (umm… sewing??)

(Stamps by WPlus9 - Super star).

A few things to keep in mind if you decide to use my sketch:

- You’re kindly asked to save the image onto your computer first, and if you make a card based on it, please link back to this post.
- If you upload your card to an online gallery, use the code SSC75.
- Feel free to share the link to your creation via the Inlinkz widget, so that I can come and check it out!
- The colours/elements mean nothing towards the card. All styles, colours and supplies, as well as slight alterations of the sketch are welcome.
- A new sketch and sample is posted every Saturday, but you’re welcome to play any time! Just leave a link in the comments section after Inlinkz widget closes.
