Hello & happy Saturday! Seems like a fitting day for a sketch, yes? Well I happen to have one and I’m breaking a record here for it’s the second horizontal layout in a row… what the heck is happening?? It’s a simple little thing that should appeal to many; I hope you’ll like it 🙂
Joining me today as Guests, are two of the most faithful and truly spectacular Sketchbook players, Jen Mitchell of I Create and Wanda Cullen of Cullen-ary Creations. I love it when they play along and I can’t wait to see what they prepared today! I hope you’ll pop in to check their cards as well 🙂
I took the inspiration for my card from the colours of the card below, which is the theme of Monday Mood Board #20 on the WPlus9 blog, and was made by Elise who is sadly leaving the WPlus9 Team…
And here’s what I made. I reached for an older but much loved set, Flora & Fauna. I adore the dogwoods and the cardinal; and these are one of few WPlus9 stamps which are good for colouring, which breaks the routine in the way I usually use the company’s stamps. At any rate, I’m not complaining 😀
I Copic coloured the bird, while the foliage was stamped with Hero Arts Wet Cement ink and covered with glitter. I stamped once directly on the panel, and once on an extra piece of cardstock, from which I cut out the blooms. I affixed them with glue dots and curled the petals up a bit.
I like to stay faithful to the company if I play with their challenge, but I needed a nice big & bold sentiment so I reached for Papertrey Ink‘s Think Big Favorites #4.
