CASE Study Challenge #162

Written by: iwona    9 Comments

It’s time for us all to rock the inspiration again, at CASE Study! As you know, Elena Roussakis is our Muse this month and I’m having a marvelous time CASE’ing her exquisite work. Here’s the treat for this week, who’s up for a bit of woodgrain?? I know I am!

It’s the lovely juxtaposition of warm neutrals and bright red, that captured my attention, on top of the obvious charm of the wood pattern and a super fun pun. I knew I wanted to go for these neutrals as well, but I also had in plans to include a pop of red in the form of berries (pearls, rhinestones, enamel dots?). This last part didn’t quite work out - I decided that they would be too much and opted for neutral accents as well. What do you think?

I created the circular pattern by masking off the negative circle die cut and stamping inside with PTI stamps. Then I die cut the stem and replaced it with the same one but cut from the brown cardstock. The sentiment belongs to my favourite Technique Tuesday stamp set, Simply You.

The additional inspiration for my card (layout!), is this card by Marion which is the current Muse challenge as well. Funny how it’s not the first time I combine these two “Muse” challenges. Is it wrong?
