CASE Study Challenge #186

Written by: iwona    16 Comments

We’re gearing up for some more CASE’ing fun at CASE Study today, with our super cool Muse, Jaclyn! I’m sure this card needs not to be introduced as it’s been all over the blogland since Jax came up with the idea. I think I remember correctly that even Susan Opel couldn’t resist giving it her own spin! Now it YOUR turn to be inspired!

So, yeah. Talk about awesome! This card has a serious wow factor and it was hard for me to figure out a starting point for mine, in an attempt to do it justice. Then I realized how important it was that Jax aligned the elements so impeccably, so neatly - any flaw in the structure would draw our eye out of the big picture. That being said, I thought I’d try to stick to the same layout and design my own background with multi-stamping, while trying to make mine as well aligned as possible.

And here’s where a disclaimer should go. I’m not a perfectionist when it comes to stamping. I don’t have the guts to agonize before I press the acrylic block against the paper. So nope, the result is not perfect - but in my books, it will do :)

I used Waltzingmouse stamps: Compact Family for the sentiment - love that it has an option for both spellings of “mum/mom”, and Folk Art Medallion which I created the background with.

  1. I absolutely love your take on Jaclyn’s card! I love that it’s layered stamping as opposed to die-cuts! I was just admiring your stamping, when I read your comment, so now I’m trying to find the imperfection!!!!! So far no luck, but I think a few little errors make it more special and prove it was made by hand, with love!

  2. I don’t know what fault you’re talking about but I can’t see anything…anyway that’s part of the beauty of it being handmade…well that’s what I tell myself when my stamping doesn’t work properly hehe…

Your comments make my day!
