Hello! It’s CASE Study time and a new challenge is up, inspired by the awesome Wida. Figures this wonder woman can awaken the rustiest of mojos because GASP! I scrapbooked. For the first time in months. I usually don’t feel much need for it, I adore the idea but apart from the lack of natural talent in scrapbooking, I struggle making my pages personal, “mine”. Or perhaps my time hasn’t arrived yet, hmmm.
But! Today’s work I’m happy with. Yay!

It’s the freestyle arrangement of the elements, stacked vertically on the card, that made me think of a big time layout rather than a card. I also carried the vellum elements through, rather extensively as you can see…
I cut Simon Says Stamp Full Card Hexagons in vellum, cut the frame off and placed the grid behind the photo. Then I gathered the hexagon pieces and fitted them around the grid, letting them spill in both directions too, as if they were bursting out of the frames.

The phrase comes from the MAMBI (Me & My Big Ideas) pocket page; I found it so fitting, especially lately as I’ve been dealing with surprisingly extensive tiredness and low mood. Those two are a handful for sure but it takes one look at their faces and no trouble matters any more.
I cut the page by hand and stacked the strips in a random manner, drawing a line under each strip with a felt pen. The few embellishments that I used are Studio Calico Tiny Stars (which I’m sure you noticed by now that I’m a bit obsessed with), and Teresa Collins and Kaisercraft flag banners (ready-made die cuts). I also added splatters with Tattered Angels spray mist.

FB told me last night, just as I was finishing this piece, that there’s a Scrapbooking Rocks Challenge on at the Moxie Fab World blog as of current, so I thought it was an amusing coincidence. Needless to say, I’ll be linking up there 🙂
