A new challenge at CASE Study just launched and we’ve got a fresh portion of inspiration from our Muse, Debby Hughes!
I don’t know about you, but I’m not tired of feathers and/or dream catchers yet. It’s like saying you’re tired of florals, which I’d never do. They’re timeless, feathers especially. They’re one of the most beautiful designs of nature. I was tempted to pull out the new WPlus9 Dream Believer stamp set for my card but seeing as I featured it on my blog not long ago and with limited posts lately, I decided that I use Small Butterfly Frame Die instead. It’s just as gorgeous… well, everything WPlus9 does. I’m smitten with everything in the new release and it pains me that I’m yet to ink so much of it… anyway!
I focused on working with neutrals just like Debby did and true to my style, I spiced up the design with pattern and texture.
As you can see, I made a shaker card. With the popularity of sequins also came the outbreak of shaker cards but I never really jumped on the bandwagon much. Frankly, making them tires me. I wish someone came up with a foam tape especially designed for making shakers - thin in width but thick in height, and with non-sticky sides. Know what I mean?
I die cut the frame from an older Kaisercraft paper pad (After Five) which still does the job for me with its neutral designs and lots of specialty papers like this foiled one which added elegance and lightness to the card. I backed the frame with white cardstock and enclosed the confetti hearts behind the vellum.
The sentiment from Dream Believer was stamped in black on vellum, and I added some foliage sprigs cut with Foliage Frame Die from shiny gold paper.

So pretty! I adore that butterfly frame!
Its beautiful !
Wonderfully elegant take on the Debby’s card. Really lucious and your shaker element looks so sophisticated in neutrals.
Gorgeous
This is beautiful! Love the shaker and butterfly frame!
Gorgeous card, Chupa!
Gorgeous card. That Wplus 9 frame is lovely especially in that pretty paper. Re shaker cards - I think Stampin Up make foam frames specially for shaker cards and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L too. Though I haven’t used either and can’t vouch for them. Static and fingerprints are always my enemies especially when using acetate.
Stunning card Iwona! I soooooo love the butterfly frame
!!! Hugs ~S~
Hadn’t been around here for awhile, sad news about CASE, but I’m sure you’re doing the right thing. Take care of you and yours. And if you feel like making another shaker anytime soon, I’ve used craft foam die cut to a frame and layered two of them cuz I, too, hate the sticky sides when using adhesive 😉 Take care, Chupa.
